  1. We have our club back now thank god. People already in place, why have a 'fan representative' to upset the apple-cart? I'm pretty sure our board would rather everything about the running of our club should be left to them and them only without the petty in-fighting going on as I speak interfering in the club. Crooks took over Rangers (still to be proved I concede) but that happened due to, not the fans being unconnected, but the couldn't care less attitude of SDM. Can't imagine King the fan and a man with good intentions wanting to agree to what some glory hunter sitting next to him getting his ear nipped all because of what happened during the terrible times of the past. Dave King has went through a helluva time in Scotland just for the reason he wants to get our great club back on the tracks, the last thing he ever wanted was a group/groups of fans wanting a slice of the success cake off his back. This is just my way of seeing the picture.
  2. Where is the evidence? And 'we' doesn't even come into it?
  3. If there was one player in our current squad who could get anywhere near 'Legend' status then it has to be Kenny Miller. He's not quite reached the pinnacle yet to receive that award, but who knows? He still has 1 last pop next season to add that to his impressive CV. An important player who's contributing to this seasons effort and possibly just the guy for next season. John Greig, Paul Gascoigne, Jim Baxter...Kenny Miller? You never know, I hope so.
  4. 16 years??? That is really something. Going back 16 years from this day the 12th February in the 1999-2000 season Rangers FC didn't do too bad either. Top of the league with 16 games left to play, we won 12 of them (including 1-0 and 4-0 victories against the filth) our only defeat came in the last game at Motherwell with the title already sealed. It was the season Dick Advocaat led us to his 2nd title consecutive title, the one we won by 21 clear points! The Scottish Cup: We had already reached the 4th Round (known as Fifth Round today) with a 2-0 win over St Johnstone. Rd 4 saw Morton dispatched 1-0, the Q-F resulted in a 4-1 win over Hearts, Ayr United were skelped 7-0 in the S-F, the game where Kanchelskis did this... CHEEKY BUGGER! The Final was won by 4 goals to nil against the sheep, Van Bronckhorst, Vidmar, Dodds and Albertz netting to secure the 'double'. How time flies eh? Happy Anniversary Gersnet.
  5. Ha! 'Scotzine' They are the greatest of the great Rangers haters. I didn't click on the link, and never will ever!
  6. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/14267650.Mark_Warburton_unconcerned_with_Rangers__form_in_the_final_third/? MARK WARBURTON insists he isn’t worried that Rangers have lost their cutting edge in the final third in recent weeks as the goals have dried up for the Light Blues. After netting four against Hibernian and Livingston and six and five against Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath respectively earlier this year, the Gers have found the net just twice in their last three outings. Rangers failed to score for the first time this term as they drew 0-0 with Kilmarnock on Saturday but boss Warburton said: “I think if there are alarm bells after that then there is an issue. [Against Kilmarnock] we showed good quality on the football, it was just lacking that killer touch in the box. “Waggy has been outstanding this season and nine times out of 10 he’ll score that. We had Tav hit the post, Danny hitting the bar, chances for Harry and Jason. “Lee Wallace forced a couple of saves, so all over the park first and second half we created good chances and on another day we would have got three or four. “It’s the random nature of football. Sometimes it drops your way be it a penalty kick or a corner or a goal kick or an offside, whatever it might be. “The random events of football sometimes go your way, sometimes they don’t. I think the last couple of games they haven’t gone our way but I’m delighted with the quality of football.” The one positive to take from the Killie Scottish Cup clash for Warburton was the return of midfielder Jason Holt. The 22-year-old has now recovered from a knee injury and is in line to face Alloa this weekend. Warburton said: “His movement, his energy, his quality and his hunger to get back and defend as well as go forward. “He adopts positions which hurt the opposition, he finds pockets of space and he’s constantly moving. He does it with a real dynamism about his movement. “So he’s been superb for us, he’s earned his new contract, and I’m looking forward to Jason getting better and better.” Personally I'm a bit concerned about the latest slump in not finding the net recently. The earlier loss of form and lack of goals I put down to the squad becoming over-confident, winning games by 5 goals on a regular basis and going 11 points clear of their nearest rivals condemning themselves into the comfort zone. Soon we found ourselves on level points and that was the kick up the ass we just had to take seriously. My concern is the squad feel they are in that comfort zone again resulting in below par performances in the league race and against Kilmarnock, thinking they only had to turn up to win the game. Walking off the park at full time was surely another wake-up call for them and a lesson if you want to win trophies here you need to play to full potential in every game from now until the end of the season. We've had two bites at the comfort zone...no more please.
  7. Yep, they've even progressed to the Valencia dug-out now? I've had no interest in Valencia CF since we played them a few years ago...now I know who sits in the dug-out for them b'gawd! I really couldn't care less.
  8. No! It won't matter who he is? If the club is badly run he'll be part of it. The fans will leave in droves...seen it happen many times. What I'm saying is, if whoever wins this 'race' will become part of the board.
  9. Whatever happened to the days when your team was shite and the guy next to you and the guy next to him and so on stopped going to watch it? Right now I'd say the team is not shite in fact they are value for money - the club itself is moving in the right direction, who needs somebody to have a voice representation for the rest of us if it all goes wrong for one reason or another? If the club is badly run the board will soon experience the full wrath of the guy in the stand. The fans rep will feel it even more.
  10. Self interest makes the whole procedure dubious imo.
  11. Can I just say DON'T vote for Gough! I wanted his autograph for my daughter (7) and while every single player gladly obliged, when it came to him he brushed us aside with his nose up in the air. Appalling way to treat a couple of fans. My young daughter was very bewildered then Ally arrived late which made her forget all about the ignoramus.
  12. Partick thistle vs C*ltic and Rangers vs Morton cannot ever be allowed on the same day how can we expect PS to cope with those massive games with a possible combined attendance of 60,000? On the evening of April 19th 1972 Rangers played Bayern Munich at Ibrox while C*ltic were at home to Inter Milan, the attendances in those heady days in each game were recorded as 80,000 and 70,000 respectively. There was not one bit of bother that I can recall even with all those bloody Germans and crazy Italians thrown into the mix. Footnote: Rangers won 2-0 to reach the ECWC Final, Inter won 5-4 on pens for a place in the EC Final.
  13. Yeah right enough mate, forgot about that The CL do use plastic baws too, and FIFA as well if I remember correctly.
  14. This is the thing, in all honesty I wouldn't have taken a single player from that side they had back then. There were no really outstanding individuals in it, I have to grudgingly admit they were a 'team' so as you say...Henderson before Johnstone.
  15. It was a shambles Gribz, it took them another 20 minutes or so to start it again, can just imagine the whole lot of them at SFA headquarters trying to prise the rule book off each other. Sky presenters were holding back bursting out laughing when it happened, what an incompetent lot we have running the game.
  16. Plastic balls from Poundland with pieces of typed paper inside...time to ask government to help pay for wooden balls with numbers stamped on them.
  17. We always seem to get a home draw in the cup, and we will take that all the time, but an away tie against top league opposition can add more to our development as a team I think. The only time we've played at a true away football ground in the past 4 years was at Tannadice, Tynecastle and Easter Rd. We flopped every time, but that happened in the dark days under the old regime. We have corrected the Easter Rd experience under Warburton with the 6-2 game and we must have more of these games under our belt in order to progress properly. Kilmarnock at Rugby Park is just another step in the right direction I think. Edit: I should have said 'another challenge' instead of another step.
  18. I don't think it's a bad thing today that we are going to a replay, it's another game against top league opposition which can only prepare us more for next season. It's a proper football stadium with quality facilities and a learning curve for the likes of most of our new guy's to play in a packed decent ground in a knock-out competition. We don't have much experience in that.
  19. We completely dominated Killie, I was disappointed in the end result like yourself and everybody else but there's no way I'm deflated the replay could turn out more of a disappointment of course but I'm confident of winning that game after what I saw today.
  20. First game we haven't scored in ian...and we have a crisis apparently
  21. Clark has definitely let the troops down Rab, he can't get anywhere near a starting spot now and as for Hardie, wonder where it has all went wrong for him?
  22. The replay is a week on Tuesday...BAH! The mother-in-laws 90th!!!!
