I had never heard of this story...stumbled across it today contained in an AUSTRALIAN newspaper archive! Firstly, we all know this side was famous for winning 'the World's Greatest Clean Sweep' of League, Scottish Cup, the Glasgow Cup and the Glasgow Merchants' Charity Cup during season '29-30. The Charity Cup Final against Celtic which would clinch the clean sweep finished all square and because Rangers were soon to leave for a four week North American tour, a replay was out of the question, so the game was decided on the toss of a coin... The Celtic captain chose Tails, the Kings Head faced the heavens, and the 'Grand Slam' was won. 'Heads We Win!' – The moment the Grand Slam was completed. To the St. Enoch Hotel for a quick change into attire befitting of a travelling Rangers squad under Bill Struth, and then carriages to Greenock to embark on their Transatlantic trip. Five-hundred people congregated at the St. Enoch Hotel to wish the Rangers well on their travels. At Greenock, thousands of loyal Rangers fans ecstatic at the 'Clean Sweep' sang 'Follow Follow' as the ship set sail, the Rangers players hanging over the top deck taking up the chorus with the fans. 16 players made the epic trip, accompanied by Director Ex Baillie Duncan Graham, Bill Struth and the trainer James Kerr. The likes of Holt, Halliday, Miller, McKay and Wallace relishing this moment in time is understandable, throw in Foderingham, O'Halloran, Tavernier,Waghorn and Forrester into the mix and you have the thesis of a side moving ever so upwards and onwards under W&W. We have some very good young players ready to step up too, notably Ryan Hardie who looks a very special player who has a knack at such a young age for where the goals are.

Seriously though, if Hibs can somehow get up there with us it would be better for the game. We need the big clubs to survive in Scottish football, it's always been that way.

It works both ways with MW it seems, look at Kenny Miller for example getting an extension at 36...? I never doubted KM's ability, even under McCoist I never doubted him. He's Ally's greatest signing as a manager.

As yet un-sourced rumours surfacing today have claimed that Hibs’ star forward Jason Cummings desires to make the switch from Easter Road to Ibrox this summer. I don't personally feel any pain from this defeat, sure if we were struggling and NEEDED to win this game I would feel different obviously. To me this is part of the learning process for the whole club, the league is won end of! Defeats will always happen to any side running away with a title. We have bigger fish to fry starting next month and beyond, yesterday's loss can only be regarded as a blip.

Another 1-0 win and 3 points in the bag for them today. Will the monopoly of the cash rich BPL teams be broken do you think? Still a lot of football to be played but the spirit of the Leicester boys appears to be unbreakable. Who can believe 'the best league in the world' would see Claudio Ranieri leading a club like them 8 points clear in top spot at this stage never mind mid-table survival? With three of their next four at home (struggling Sunderland is the away game) they could just have the opportunity to make dreams come true for their loyal fans. Go on City!
