Upton Park extra game for West Ham Ladies called off
Bearman posted a topic in General Football Chat
A West Ham Ladies' match has been called off so that the men's win over Manchester United can remain as the last public fixture played at Upton Park. The 5 June game was cancelled despite a vote in favour of it going ahead. Out of nearly 12,000 fans, 52% were in favour and 48% against the idea, a fundraiser for the Ladies' team said. The club said it was responding to supporters' comments and fan feedback on social media. The Hammers are moving to the Olympic Stadium after 112 years at Upton Park. The club said in a statement: "West Ham Ladies played under the lights at the Boleyn Ground back in March when they faced Tottenham Ladies and dialogue remains open between West Ham Ladies and the club with regards to the hosting of future fixtures." The match, between West Ham Ladies and a West Ham 'All Stars' team, was the brainchild of Jack Sullivan, the son of West Ham co-chairman David. West Ham Ladies Joint-Chairman Stephen Hunt said: "Obviously the Ladies are disappointed but myself and Jack Sullivan will get together over the summer to see what else we can do in the future." West Ham beat Manchester United 3-2 on Tuesday, 10 May and then held a 45-minute celebration after full-time, involving fireworks and former players. Eastenders actor Danny-Boy Hatchard, who plays Lee Carter in the BBC One soap opera, was among those backing the Ladies' game. At least it will give the ladies much valuable time to learn how to properly drive a car and hone their skills in the kitchen and improve on their cleaning capabilities. Not a bad thing really -
Steven McLean says Scottish Cup final is pinnacle of referee's career
Bearman replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
I recall the handball in that Cup semi, it was missed because of players being in certain positions blocking ALL the officials view of it. It was quite a freakish moment, you couldn't say the ref made a mistake or blundered, just fate really which had me dancing in the streets of Perth, a family weekend break on that occasion. I have never seen that happen before where an obvious hand ball was seen by everyone in the ground and on tv yet was genuinely missed by the guys in control of the game. I'm quite happy with McLean in charge on Saturday, if history repeats itself with him on the whistle then he's one unlucky bassa. -
Breaking: Rangers serve notice on retail agreement with immediate effect
Bearman replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
This is tremendous news! Question: Could this mean all the SD ads getting ripped down in the Stadium? Or has it nothing to do with that? -
Rangers never ever had friends in Scottish football, Rangers always had success though. The pea brain that is SF today are just a bunch of idiots wanting Rangers dead. Just shows you how many friends we had when crooks and ****s got their grubby hands on the club and almost granted their wishes. Friends??? They can all go feck themselves whilst we recover from the largest attempted cull in sporting history.

" The oldest , most famous cup in world football"
Bearman replied to boabie's topic in General Football Chat
The FA Cup was open to Scottish teams up until 1887, then the Scottish Football Association banned its members from taking any further part in it. Although it is an older Cup than the Scottish FA Cup, in reality it was a 'British Cup' as opposed to an English Cup. So with that in mind...the Scottish Cup is genuinely the oldest Cup to be competed for in World football within any football association.
