  1. I agree with everything you say mate except the bit I've highlighted. It'll be a sad day indeed if Rangers ever allow this trophy to mean more to their opponents than themselves. I'm sure it was a typo though...you'll be just as excited as the rest of us when we compete for it in the Final, perhaps against Motherwell?
  2. You'd have thought Police Scotland would welcome the idea of just 1000 tims to Ibrox and likewise us at the Parc de Savile. Much much easier to police surely?
  3. Ronaldo easily wins the 'Look at me' Champions trophy, the fact he's still there is bewildering...can see this 'lucky' self centred c*nt lifting this trophy by scoring the best ever goal scored in a Euro Final...or the best ever penalty scored in a shoot-out. He'd accept both are equal.
  4. Football season finishes May...Euro Cup, World Cup fills in every 2 years...we have Wimbledon then Golf Open thereafter - the British way. 2016 We now have thanks to the planners of Scottish Football a 'powder keg' of a match involving Rangers during the Golf Open? I'm a bit of a traditionalist....we should start the football season in August like it's always been.
  5. This game against Motherwell during the golf just doesn't appeal to me. I have never played golf just watch it from time to time during the close season. Motherwell vs Rangers has always been a big attraction for as long as I can remember, more so since after the play-off in 2015. I would rather the Scottish football public could have lathered their false teeth in expectation of the golf than be distracted by a meaningless group/sectional game involving a head to head between the clubs.
  6. It's amazing really when you think of the guys last season who dragged us out of a mess and where they stand right now. It is of course always a good thing for the team...but I enjoyed the likes of Holt and Halliday and suspect they might be bit players next year...which means it could effect their form and consistency, then again it could push them to another level which is probably the whole idea.
  7. Looks like the boy Rossiter has a big part this season going by that quote. Brilliant!
  8. Ronaldo or Bale for the Final now...Real Madrid seem to get things right most of the time.
  9. After Leicester City and now Wales defying belief...it wouldn't surprise me if Celtic win the Scottish League next year.
  10. Could win it mate going by that game, their defence is really solid, the guy Chester has went up a hundred fold from my previous thoughts on the player. Shame Ramsay misses the semi after that yellow.
  11. Welsh fans singing...are you watching Englander...

  13. Hearts 2-1 FC Infonet Hearts came from behind to beat FC Tallinn Infonet 2-1 in their Europa League first qualifying round clash at Tynecastle. The Estonian side stunned the hosts as Jevgeni Harin scored a stunning volley after 21 minutes. Prince Buaben levelled for Robbie Neilson's side from the penalty spot seven minutes later before Infonet captain Andrei Kalimullin scored an own goal in the 35th minute. Aberdeen 3-1 CS Fola Esch Niall McGinn (90+3) and Adam Rooney (90+7pen) hit dramatic late goals for Aberdeen in the 3-1 win against Fola Esch in their Europa League first qualifying round first leg match at Pittodrie. Shay Logan's second-half opener (68} was immediately cancelled out by Julien Klein (70)
  14. There is ONE seat left in each of these areas...GR3 GR5 Bar72 GE3 and CF1, a scattered few in SW5 and the Main Stand (rear). Quite a lot still available in the club deck mostly rear as you move from centre. BF5 have plenty up for grabs as have BR1-BR5.
  15. We can always look on the positive side though. If we assume Aberdeen and Hearts are top class sides because they finished 2nd and 3rd then we also have to assume the rest are pure diddies ...meaning we get them TWICE at home. With Ibrox being jammed packed full of 12th men then we will have a great day out slaughtering the meek.
  16. There is no way we'd have to go to Parc de Savile 3 times...even they know that cannot happen!
  17. Portugal haven't won a single game over 90 mins but still find themselves in the S-F.

  20. Five embarrassing European upsets Scottish sides will be wanting to avoid a repeat of Artmedia Bratislava 5-0 Celtic In 2005, Gordon Strachan's stewardship at Celtic Park got off to the worst possible start as he led his troops into the baking Bratislava heat in a Champions League second round qualifying tie against little known Artmedia. Strachan , who admitted post-match that it was "difficult to look anyone in the eye" watched his team disintegrate in the second half as Celtic opted to chase a one goal first half deficit to retrieve the game. Instead, they conceded another four goals and waved goodbye to Champions League football in what has since gone down as one of Celtic's worst ever defeats. FBK Kaunus 2 - 1 Rangers The second qualification round of the Champions League would also be the scourge of Rangers just three years later, as they left themselves with an uphill battle following a disappointing goalless draw in the first leg at Ibrox. They would need to travel to Lithuanian minnows Kaunus and get at least a score draw to avoid an embarrassing slip up. All seemed to be going to plan as Kevin Thomson slotted home in the 33rd minute to give Walter Smith's men a 1-0 away advantage. However a howitzer of a free-kick and an a late, late header put paid to Rangers European hopes which quickly evaporated into the Lithuanian summer air. Vaduz 2 - 0 Falkirk Vaduz, the Cup winners from major European footballing nation...Liechenstein...would present Falkirk with an easy opportunity to delve deep into the Europa League in 2009, or so it would have seemed. Especially after Falkirk took a 1-0 advantage to the Principality after a solid first leg performance at the Falkirk Stadium But the Liechtensteiners hit back with a first half equaliser, stunning the Bairns into a stupor from which they would never recover, allowing Vaduz to strike the knockout blow in extra time. Aberdeen 1 - 5 Sigma Olomouc A new wave of optimism swept over the North-East as Gotheburg hero of 1983 Mark McGhee was appointed as the man who would try to wake the Dons from their slumber. That optimism would last all of six weeks as Aberdeen suffered their worst ever home defeat in their proud European history, falling foul of the unpronounceable Czech side who rubbed salt into the wounds in the second leg and notch up an 8-1 aggregate victory. It would only get worse for McGhee at Pittodrie, and a 9-0 away defeat at Celtic would end any notion of McGhee making a successful hero's return at Aberdeen. Hibs 0 - 7 Malmo 9-0 is a scoreline which not only Aberdeen fans are haunted by however. Hibs supporters share the pain. his was the aggregate score that the Hibees were battered by in 2013, as Swedish side Malmo showed no mercy in the Scottish capital. Hibs had been hopeful of salvaging the tie following a 2-0 away loss in Scandinavia, however a thoroughly embarrassing home showing in Edinburgh means that Hibs hold the record of the worst ever aggregate score recorded by a Scottish side in European football.
  21. You obviously know the sport...would love it to win in a dramatic finish from nowhere just to hear the commentator shout out excitedly " Wearethepeople"!
