Quite exited about the player Joe Garner, we desperately need an out-and-out striker and he seems to tick all the boxes. Not for one minute am I saying he's a Messi or even a Vardy but he's just what we need to have any chance of winning the league - it's a Gary Hooper type of signing - he'll score for fun in Scotland, probably more than Griffiths even.

Flutes and accordians vs Trumpets and pianos...Very difficult to separate depending on the tune If Steely Dan done The Sash we could all pack up and say 'What a life I lived' .

It remains to be seen what Dundee side will turn up on Saturday lunchtime...the one we faced last season or one wearing masks resembling Hamilton Accies (Exclusive property of Championship clubs with nothing else to do but destroy the beautiful game). Hope the one that faced us last year in the cup come calling as we are finding it a tad difficult to play against the latter. A plan 'B' should be looked at as a matter of urgency or we'll draw a lot of games this season, maybe the fact we are now not always using the short corner warrants a signal of changing how we approach games. Other things like passing the ball back or sideways when a forward pass is crying out. Something we could improve on is the 'killer' pass which hopefully is why Barton and Krancjar were brought in for, Dodoo looks the type of player who'll flourish with that type of service. Meantime I'm expecting improvement from Clint Hill, nothing short of a 'hat-trick' on Saturday from that man will suffice.

I feel I have to post this after my scathing remarks aimed at the player. It's pretty much documented about our defensive woes and I'm not slow to agree. After his display at Ibrox on Tuesday night I'll say I'm encouraged by the man, not because his defensive frailties might have been sorted, more to do with a goal threat no-one saw coming. It's not uncommon for a central defender to pop up now and again and score from a delivered corner kick, it is though very uncommon for a Rangers central defender to do that especially since we only do short corners. Happily, we don't do short corners much now and big Clint along with another player who I blasted - Krancjar - are the beneficiaries along with the fans who like to see the ball punted into the box now and again. Anyway, hats off to Hill - a goal threat I never saw coming. Here's to more of the same big man.

I find myself taking an interest in the Championship now. Something that hadn't happened before we took part in it (two bloody years fgs!) My interest now is looking at Falkirk Raith & QOS and hoping one of them go on some sort of run and slay Hibz and that other Dundee club. As for watching it on BBC Sportscene - I wouldn't bother myself and would switch over.

League Cup: Rangers v Queen of the South (Tue 20/9/16 - Live on BT Sport)
Bearman replied to JFK-1's topic in Rangers Chat
It was good to get the home tie against QOS considering the options that were left. This cup competition hasn't came to life even after a revamp??? The Semis will change all that though. -

What I'm saying is...and I accept it's only the first game of 38, is that we had better players on the bench today than some of the players who started (those three I mentioned above for example). I also accept that Hill may have started simply because Wilson was suspended, but I can't understand why Krancjar and Barton were on from the start other than their wage bill. -

I'll try... Clint Hill actually gestured on a number of occasions today to Fod not to give him the ball. What's that about? Nico Krancjar isn't fit yet but starts the match. Barton's pace was shown up today in a bad light against every player on the park. All on the 'High' end of wages I'd imagine. -

Or some misguided decisions within Ibrox. -

We have sold 43,000 ST's what does that amount to in hard cash? Why are we signing guys like Clint Hill? -

Haven't read any of the thread due to being just in the door and wanting to get a couple of things off my chest before I settle down for a relaxing evening. 1. Rangers have been too long in the lower divisions playing dross to mount a challenge this season. 2. King has to release some of his millions to into our squad and stop tarting up the Stadium with artificial cosmetics. There, got that off my chest, now to enjoy the rest of my evening. -
I thought there was some transfer news in here...
