Celtic face yet another UEFA rap as fans fly Palestine flags
Bearman replied to JFK-1's topic in General Football Chat
It's the Gangrene brigade JFK? They are lorded by most of the 'ordinary' support (if there's such a thing) of that club. If it has an affect on their right to attend a CL match and to enjoy the atmosphere these games bring then the gb will soon be looked upon as a leper within. The money men at the club too will see this as more of a threat than a paltry fine can ever be. -
Obviously the gap in quality of the EPL and the Premiership is not in question, and although I know very little about the player, even when he was in his prime, I suspect he'll be better than anything we've seen all across the defensive line at Ibrox for over the past 5 years or so.

Are Villa paying him his full wage for this season with us paying nowt anybody? Also we are giving him a 2 year contract, wonder what the second year will cost us?
-
Guys on the SAFC forum are concerned about him being linked to them. Comments like "No chance, he is totally shot!" and "Lescott is too old, too slow and a shadow of his former self!" are common. I trust Warburton's judgement though.

Yeah it was a Villa fan...his question to the owner was: "I hope we got a fee for Lescott after all the pain and misery he caused last season."

Why a partial closure? Make them play in an empty stadium! -
Could still throw him in right away. Why not? Colin Stein signed two days before his debut, by the ninth day he'd played 3 games and had scored 8 times.
-
4-2 now....
-
Watched the start of the game then switched off after timmy went ahead, checked the score thereafter to see 2-0 then 3-0 at H-T...just checked again - it's 3-2 now!
-
Hope the manager does throw him in straight away...he'll be no good sitting on the bench taking in the atmosphere, he's 28 and will be itching to start. This 'papping' new players on the bench doesn't sit with me at all...look at Colin Stein...signed, selected for the immediate game, scores a hat-trick! There are many more examples of this of which my memory fails me. Edit: Kris Boyd if memory serves repeated Steins feat.

Rangers Fans blamed for vile graffiti outside Tannadice

An old tim line in one of their songs is that...typical 'type' reporting printed by tims for tims. They'd use the word 'Hun' if they could get away with it...like the scum got away with the term at the Hampden semi-final without any condemnation whatsoever? -
Meanwhile...Waghorn is Ahead of Schedule...

"Diego Diego Diego" comes to mind! A Scottish version of course.

Hart was over rated by the English media, Scottish goalies used to be mocked by them way way back in the day. Stewart Kennedy against them in the 1-5 game cemented their view.

Celtic fans rage at club after being charged up to £49 for Rangers match

A new club going for 55, how can that be? -
If we complete our business this window with Garner, Lescott and Senderos on board then I'll say I'm very satisfied. Another striker and another two defenders with decent CV's were always the most important signings at this stage I feel. Read on another forum today that Sportsound the Scottish football radio show presented by BBC Scotland which I never listen to, rated the potential Garner signing as 'dead money' for a 28 year old, yet they were wetting their pants last week at that tim club signing a 27 year old (Sinclair) for three times the money.

Here's hoping Craig. Apparently he's free from injury and has started Brentfords first two games so far...could be on the radar knowing Warbs eye for a player.
-
Aye...I liked Kenny a very hard working player who helped us immensely last year. Sadly for him he's clearly approaching the end of his playing career now that Rangers have moved up a league. Scored a cracker on Saturday though and still has a bit part to play before finally hanging up his boots.

Lewis Macleod: Shock transfer away from boyhood heroes Rangers left me "disappointed" LEWIS Macleod has revealed there were “different factors” which led to a controversial £850,000 transfer from Rangers to Brentford back in December 2014 that left him “disappointed”. Fans of the Ibrox club were taken aback when Macleod, who had just won a call-up to the senior Scotland squad, was sold to the English Championship outfit two seasons ago. A club announcement to the Stock Exchange at the time stated that the 20-year-old midfielder had “regretfully” been offloaded for “immediate working capital”. There was a change of regime at Rangers just three months later when a Dave King-fronted consortium seized power. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/14684090.Lewis_Macleod__Shock_transfer_away_from_boyhood_heroes_Rangers_left_me__quot_disappointed_quot_/? Always hoped this player would return sooner rather than later.

I'd put my money on West Brom or Swansea for the title this year, they were the only teams to keep a clean sheet. Let's see how they shape up on home soil this week.

£1.5M is a step I'll concede...but I want the board to dig down a little deeper if I'm going to be brutally honest. We need TWO central defenders at a combined hefty cost of whatever it takes without breaking the bank. I suspect though we will continue with 2 from our current 3 in the hope that our firepower up front will do.
-
And here's me comparing him to Hooper & Griffiths If he's half as good as Ally then we are heading in the right direction, if he's a little better than that then good times ahead.

Preston accept Rangers' £1.5m bid for Joe Garner after striker pushes for move RANGERS have had a £1.5million bid for Joe Garner accepted – after he told Preston he wanted to move to Ibrox. The English Championship outfit have given their striker permission to open talks with Mark Warburton and he is due in Glasgow over the next 24 hours. The Lilywhites were keen to keep the 28-year-old, below, and were ready to offer him a new deal, but he made it clear he wanted to work with his former Watford boss Warburton again. The deal will see Rangers pay £750,000 up front and the same again next year, with further add-ons also factored in. Preston boss Simon Grayson said: “It can be unfair if you decline an offer and a player wants to go. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/700368/Rangers-Joe-Garner-Preston-SPL-Sport-News-Mark-Warburton-Philippe-Senderos
