The jigsaw is taking shape very nicely.

I love clever wingers on their game...worth the entrance fee alone.

The Pre-Summer-2017 transfer rumours and hearsay all inclusive Thread

So clubs down south use our media to gauge players? Behave yourself! Garner was never worth the money we paid for him, we'll never get that back, it was money wasted! -
Good on the lad...and good for Rangers of course. Good news just can't stop coming for us...We added an 'Internationalist' to our squad to-day...Myles Beerman! He got 5 minutes tonight for Malta in a 1-0 win against Ukraine. Congrats to both players.

If Alves does knockdowns at corners, hope it's not Garner he finds! -
I'm haven't a clue on how 'business' works, but is it possible AJ was inevitable enabling us to seal the purchases over the past week or so of top top players with promises of more to come...?

The sooner we get rid the better..

There's is no way they'll move to Parkhead for the same reason they won't move to Ibrox. The FANS! Wouldn't surprise me if Murrayfield becomes our new National Stadium, would make a lot of sense. The Aviva Stadium for example, shares football & rugby internationals.

I wonder if there are any plans to narrow Edmiston Drive to just two lanes from the four that exist today. Personally I'd like the section at the Stadium closed off altogether and turned into a pedestrian area. Thought I'd share this little bit of info about Edmiston Drive. We are all familiar with this old aerial photograph of Ibrox Park taken in the 1920's... Looking at it one would assume Edmiston Drive connects with Broomloan Road...however a closer look at the image reveals it doesn't actually... That's not a road if you follow it up to football pitch. At some stage, after the Archibald Leitch stand was built Edmiston Drive was extended on to Broomloan Road, as can be seen in this old photo... It looks like a single file road, but it doesn't quite prove it runs all the way to Broomloan Road, although it's very possible. The tenements on the right are gone now. Returning to my 1st pic, on close-up you can see those tenements - I've outlined the ones that no longer exist...(Copland Rd & Merrick Gardens) these were demolished to make way for the new dual carriageway..., when, I'm not sure! Today, in this photo you see the ends of the tenements, on the left Copland Road (practically hidden by a giant tree) and on the right Merrick Gardens. In the following images, the top one shows a map from 1930 in comparison to today, you can see that Edmiston Drive has been extended on to Paisley Road West, also that the 1930 map shows Edmiston Drive stops at the end of the football pitch. Pity they couldn't turn the clock back so as we could have our own pedestrianised area (Fan-zone).

Scott McDonald reveals how Helicopter Sunday caused rifts with his family

I didn't watch a single part of the cup final mate, wasn't the least bit interested at all, dodged it like it was Michele McManus, Rod (f*ckin) Stewart, BBC Scotland or Ra Ra Bargwah and many others of the like. Did Brenda really threaten the officials? Wouldn't surprise me tbh...he stinks like those I mention above. -

I'm delightfully stunned at the speed Caixinha has moved this window (with the full backing of the board) and the quality (Alves) he's brought in, also the players we are now being linked with (Pena) is amazing. Other 'bigger' names are being thrown about recently, of which I'll hold my breath on. Was getting seriously tetchy as the season drew to a close thinking we'd be linked to guys like..., well you know what I mean, the same old same old we are used to in recent times. In truth, I was losing confidence in the board and the direction they were going in (impatient loyal ) The Alves signing is simply unbelievable for me, a massive step forward in our signing policy, he won't be cheap for sure, what top drawer player is? We could win 55 next season, but if we don't the most important thing about what has transpired over the past days is, if we can attract quality like Bruno Alves to Rangers at this stage, then others will surely follow. Christ! I got excited when Kenny Miller was given a new contract! -

I've not really been paying any attention to Scottish players who play in Scotland ( for me, interest is strictly confined to the only show in town). Ryan Jack...is he a good player? Looked at his wiki page - played all his career with dolly, 199 games in 9 years it says, Pedro obviously sees a player and he's not been here for long. Any Bears particularly noticed his talent over the past years? -

F*ck! So it would be okay to throw the game otherwise? I wonder who the few are? Sutton definitely for one, without doubt Hartson too... the whole club is rancid take yer pick. Sporting integrity? My ar*e! -
I'm Scottish by upbringing...always hated the English football team and all their media, just like all Scots, it was a football rivalry thing encouraged by all I knew. Jimmy Hill's a poof and all that. B@stards flying the Union Flag in their name as if it was theirs and strictly belonged to them, a cracking flag. I'm a double convert now As like the game in November I'll be hoping for an England rout of the Scots, probably more to do with the attitude of 21st century Scottish politics than the fact I'm an Englishman by birth born in Paddington, London. I don't want the Union split and don't want a Republican Scotland. C'mon England. Get Strachan and all those nasty wee people in charge of our game out! Not that that will happen of course...even if a result like 0-3 is delivered as was the case in November. I think the reason Rangers aren't wanted in the Premier League in England is down to our immediate neighbours who have totally taken over the game 'up here'. 'Up here' ironically a phrase used by Brendan Rodgers when talking about referees this season, even after going unbeaten. 'Up here' means only one thing. Don't vote SNP if you value your upbringing.

He's not a particularly dirty player, 5 yellows and 1 (straight) red last season, 3 of those yellow cards came in his last 4 games. In Scotland though, instead of welcoming a powerfully tough and talented international defender the media will be finding a way to show him as some sort of thug. The video going around of his 'assault' on Broon is comical...watch it...my take on it is Broon tries to be Messi and Alves gives him a reminder of what he really is...a complete dick! His booking for that was uncalled for as he pointed out to the ref it was his 1st foul and that was after 64 mins. Broon embarrassingly went down like a sack of spuds. Brenda with the promptings of Liewell will be shouting about referees when Alves has the likes of Dembele in his back pocket after the first OF game of 2017/18.

No contest! He's Bruno Alves...I'm Rob Kiernan in comparison.

Portugal have three matches to play in June, one of which is a World Cup Qualifier away against Latvia on Friday night June 9th (live on Sky Sports 1). I'd expect Portugal to select him for that one. It doesn't give him much of a 'summer break' given our Europa League campaign starts late June. Concerning that he may well not be available for this game and possibly the 2nd Leg as well. We really need to get past the first Q round at least.

So you're not renewing?

Didn't realise that Pete. Had a peek at their results from last season, they lost 4 goals to Lazio & Juventus, 5 goals to Fiorentina, Torino, Inter & Napoli, and SIX to Sassuolo...Bruno Alves missed ALL these game...,er, I meant to say Alves played in all these games.
-
Great news..! Okay he's 35...so what? We have ourselves a real class defender. Welcome to the Rangers Bruno.
