  1. The Colombian lad Morelos...will score a barrow load of goals here for us I reckon (hope). It appears the general opinion is that the Finnish league is of a much lower standard and that he'll struggle to score in Scotland. Looking at UEFA's coefficient rankings Finland are just 13 places behind Scotland, basically ranked the same as in that their Champions go into Q2 of the CL and have 3 clubs entering Q1 of the EL. Just like Scotland they don't qualify for World Cups or European Championships either. Morelos was too good for Finnish football, he scored for fun there, an astonishing scoring record over the past two seasons, he also managed 'single handedly' to progress his club to Q3 last season scoring 4 goals (all in the away ties). Scottish sides reaching Q2 in the EL is looked upon as some kind of an achievement, Q1 elimination for Scotland's clubs is regarded as the norm nowadays. I haven't watched Finland's football sides in action, but I suspect it'd be like watching Motherwell v Ross County or Dundee v Partick Th. Look at our Premiership play-off games between Hamilton and Dundee Utd...we've had better times during a dentist appointment...awful stuff! Excruciating viewing! A joke in the name of football! Ever the optimist me...I have great expectations for the Colombian lad Morelos this coming season.
  2. Mark Allen’s football philosophy.
  3. WHIT! His youths couldn't beat **'The invincibles' :fish: (** See Lincoln Red Imps)
  4. As I say...'beating the drum for his bosses'
  5. Cringed listening to Raman Pugwash on STV Sport reporting on Rangers interest in Walker. "Their offer falls well short of Hearts valuation!" With the emphasis on the word WELL. Another dire Scottish sports reporter still beating the same drum for his bosses.
  6. Another dud that PC would be offloading if he were here.
  7. Speaking of big arses... Any news on the shirt deal?
  8. Ralph Brand Jr. played for Rangers Reserves during this time.
  9. He's certainly not the first thing that catches your eye...or the last!
  10. Exactly! Things can only get better... What you can get for £1M these days.
  11. Tbh...I thought the least of our worries were the full-backs (Wallace & Tav), they do well in all the things PC mentions above, the only negative you could hold against them is their defensive abilities, but PC hasn't mentioned that part in his quotes, though he does mention putting more crosses in. Do you think he's happy with the full-backs, suggesting there will be no newcomers for these positions? Personally speaking, I'd be surprised if he replaced Wallace or Tav as they've certainly provided an attacking threat. My only concern is Tav's final ball...it's horrendous at times, maybe he's working on improving it.
  12. Kenny Miller back in April when he signed his new one year deal said “For me I still want to win the league back..." He wasn't kidding you know. Whether he finds a place in our new team is up for debate right enough. He's part of Pedro's plans which isn't a bad thing. Kenny might just get his wish. PS: Delighted with the Candeias capture btw.
  13. Broon should have been sent off at 0-1. Wonder what 'neutral' Brenda thought of the standard of refereeing? Not as bad as 'up here' no doubt.
  14. Perhaps the England/Scotland game delayed the announcement of Candeias for effect. Thought they might have waited until tomorrow though.
  15. As mentioned earlier - Post 1 mate...http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/vb/sh...clusive-Thread
  16. They are showing the highlights right now on ITV with the English commentary...strangely though, the camera is in the North Stand as opposed to the usual South Stand position for all games at Hampden...makes the ground look quite magnificent! I'd love Rangers to move the cameras to the Sandy Jardine Stand, the sight of the Main Stand and not having that ugly corner would be awesome in my opinion.
  17. Because of you JFK, I've just spent the past hour listening to The Eagles! Think I'll just carry on for another hour...telly is rotten!
  18. Tonights other game: Lithuania 1-2 Slovakia Table... Slovakia...6...4...0...2...12...4...12 Slovenia...6...3...2...1....6...3...11 Scotland...6...2...2...2....9..10....8 To play...(Fri Sept 1,Mon Sept 4,Thu Oct 5,Sun Oct 8) Slovakia - Slovenia (H) England (A) Scotland (A) Malta (H) Slovenia - Slovakia (A) Lithuania (H) England (A) Scotland (H) Scotland - Lithuania (A) Malta (H) Slovakia (H) Slovenia (A) Although very unlikely, 2nd place is still possible, so Strachan will continue.
  19. Vladimir Weiss scored for Slovakia against Lithuania. HT 0-1.
  20. This bit has now been deleted...
  21. The internet media come up with some crackers when you search for news on who Rangers are after, the latest one - "Celtic and Rangers in race to sign Nani". I'll stick to official club announcements before I believe that stuff. Was hoping to find that Candeias had passed his medical and joined the club, really excited by this player.
  22. Just checked the line-ups mate...he's playing!
  23. The Portuguese player Daniel Candeias... Porto signed him when he was 14 years old for their youth team, when he was 15 he won best European player in a tournament organised by Nike. In all he played 49 games for the U16's up to and including the U19's scoring 20 goals during that time. He was receiving rave reviews in Portugal as a possible successor to Pauleta who had announced his retirement from international football. For some reason or another it didn't quite work out for him though, and by the looks of things he's become a bit of an unknown. Benfica signed him 3 years ago and immediately loaned him out. If we can get this guy playing and enjoying his football again...we might just have hit the jackpot. Fingers crossed.
  24. I predict you'll be posting the same thing (word for word) on Saturday evening!
