  1. Yeah, basically the English representatives achieved no more than what C*ltic managed last year.
  2. Todays children. I took the grandkids down to the park after school for a kick-about a week ago last Friday, there were other kids already playing there with a smattering of uninterested grandpas and grannies sitting about on the very limited park benches available. Eventually all the kids had a game together with me acting as ref. The ages ranged from about 5 to 12. After the game I took it upon myself to entertain the youngsters quizzing them on 'nicknames' for football clubs mainly English clubs because I knew most of them. After exhausting that part I moved on to Scottish clubs Alloa, Wasps - Queens Park, Spiders etc etc... There was one wee 9 year old guy wearing a Celtic top who didn't know his own teams nickname, I told him it was the 'The Bhoys' - he appeared to look blank and none the wiser, when I asked what Rangers nickname was, he quickly and enthusiastically replied 'The H*ns' I said to my kids "Right boys, we have to go now"
  3. If we are in the Premiership next season the fans will demand players like all those mentioned so far in this thread. Although if Watford fans don't like Anya then we certainly don't want him.
  4. Maybe he's allergic to thistles?
  5. Anyone know if this was a morning after bevy session, or a couple before work?
  6. (Not sure if I should have posted this in the lounge) The former STV broadcaster was banned from driving for a year and fined £400 at Dumbarton Sheriff Court yesterday. The 52-year-old was stopped by police and breathalysed near the Clyde 1 studios in Clydebank earlier this month. A spokesman for Radio Clyde owner Bauer Media said: "Jim Delahunt offered his resignation from his position at Clyde 1 and this was accepted with immediate effect." http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/u/football-pundit-jim-delahunt-quits-clyde-1-after-drive-ban.1427356662
  7. Very good article. Frankie - It says at the bottom of the link you inserted, (Some words were censored in this article as Newsnow won't publish articles with certain terms). What's that about?
  8. Finally...if the RST did indeed speak out against their own, I wonder in which way the media would spin it? There's only one way to find out.
  9. I know that, and as you say there is no way anyone will take the word of the RST seriously if they don't condemn their own fans when taking up a stance on sectarian language. Outsiders will take the pot kettle view all the time.
  10. Yep, got to agree BH about bringing our club into disrepute, I'm sick of hearing it too, and something needs to come from the RST in order to stamp it out.
  11. Super Ally?
  12. Those who are currently questioning the new board are not necessary the same people who defended the old it should be noted.
  13. People forget these things, Laff done the biz when it mattered.
  14. Bet you my bottom dollar he never actually said that.
  15. STV presenter John MacKay used those words tonight on the 6 'o'clock news when reporting the Guidetti charge... "allegedly offensive"
  16. Sorry Pete, I didn't notice this thread, I've just recently posted it into 'footy chat'
  17. ... is set to take his first tentative steps into football management from next season with Feyenoord. Anybody speak/read Dutch? http://www.feyenoord.nl/nieuws/nieuwsoverzicht/van-bronckhorst-nieuwe-hoofdtrainer-feyenoord
  18. At least they've finally woke up and realised we are the same club.
  19. Sometimes it's better to do your talking on the park, Dundee United lost yet again to them, they are miles away from being the 2nd best club in Scotland while we're away. So much for them sending us into the fourth tier.
  20. Can we not move on from all that? If I met Green in the street I'd phone my big pal up to come and punch his lights out.
  21. Time to step up Gers. From Hibeez. FRASER Fyvie insists Hibernian will not alter their bold style as they seek to complete a clean sweep against Rangers this weekend that would put them in a commanding position for second spot. The Easter Road outfit, who lost in extra-time to Rangers in the Petrofac Training Cup back in August, have already racked up a hat-trick of victories over the Ibrox side in the league. With a six-point lead over the Ibrox strugglers, they know a fourth triumph could be enough to see them effectively clinch the runner-up position that would earn them the advantage of a bye into the promotion play-off semi-finals. Alan Stubbs’ side go into Sunday’s encounter buoyed by seven successive league and cup wins, while Stuart McCall’s team are seeking just a second success since January 10. And Fyvie believes Hibs will not be trying to do anything differently for the visit of the fallen Old Firm giants, despite the magnitude of the match. He said: “It’s obviously a big game but we’re just going into it as we would any other game, trying to win it. “We’ll go there and enjoy our football, play the way we play and do what the manager tells us to do. “And I’m sure we’ll be confident going into the game.” Fyvie netted for Hibs for the first time in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Cowdenbeath and admits he is enjoying life at the club following his move back north following an unproductive spell at Wigan Athletic. And the 21-year-old former Aberdeen midfielder hopes he can add yet more goals to his game as the Easter Road side seek success in league and Scottish Cup this season. He added:”I think it probably shows on the pitch that I’m enjoying my football. The manager has given me licence to go and enjoy myself and play, with obviously a bit of instruction. “I think all the lads feel free when they’re playing and the manager gives you that good feeling about going out and playing your own football.” “It was a great result for us against Cowdenbeath and to nick a goal was brilliant. “I should probably have scored in the previous couple of games but the first one came at the weekend and hopefully it’s the start of more. “Of course that’s important. It’s part of the job, to get into the box. http://www.thenational.scot/sport/football-well-stick-to-our-guns-says-fyvie.1260? “If the midfielders can steal a few goals throughout the season that’s very important.” It's time we stamped our authority on these types. Edit: Tried to post link but never came up Edit: Just noticed it's 4 lines up
  22. The Lounge for that type of discussion...see the post in there about Glasgow lighting up Russia
