  1. Why not offer him the Broxi Bear role when it becomes available?
  2. Delia's record in Europe is awful, a tainted treble might keep him there for next seasons though. As for us getting the right manager in place - it's more difficult in our situation, hopefully McCall is given a chance to prove he is better than Delia.
  3. We will finish 2nd simply because Hibs will drop more points than us from now until game 36. Our most difficult fixtures will be the play-off games with QOS as they will see off Hibs, but I think over 2 games we will beat them on aggregate. Second bottom of the Premiership are cannon fodder for any of the top 4 in the Championship, so yes I can see us getting promotion this season.

I was concerned about removing him from the field when McColouch got a red, but I'm no Stuart McCall and neither is anyone else really, regardless. In saying that, it turned out to be a correct decision by wee Stu and I'm nothing more than a happy Bear for all that.

Stuck in maybe forever for sure. Vuckic is rather good no?
  6. Are you justifying my previous post about 'reputable posters' or are you shying from it? Stuart McCall has worked miracles for Rangers in a very short time of allowance, you're not saying some bloke from Germany or anywhere else would have done better than Stu surely?
  7. I read on here of reputable posters thinking the opposite. Not sure what they think now. McCall is our manager like it or lump it. I like it.
  8. 52 years ago today Jim Baxter scored two goals for Scotland against England at Wembley securing a 2-1 win. The video below shows Eric Caldow being attended to as Bobby Smith is helped from the field, recovering from a tackle which broke Caldows leg. There is no actual footage of that tackle, but rest assured Smith done a 'Hatchet Job' on Caldow. Willie Henderson and Davie Wilson didn't miss the trick like most of us do today.
  9. We've all endured a long wait for this...is it really a corner turned? Feels like it.

The new board selecting McCall as manager has turned out to be a cracking move. I'm sure they sat round a table at dinner before the takeover and discussed the most important part of the business on who should manage the football team. Some might say any manager who came in would have done better than the previous lot, that's an easy assumption. There is no doubt the man in place is the right man who'll take us up to the top league and will be here when we attempt to secure a European spot next year. 40,000 at Ibrox today proves at least we are on the right road, especially when we all went home happy talking about the positives.
  11. ...then you had the guy doing his rounds with his tray shouting..."Get your Wrigley's spearmint gum"
  12. If football was so simple we would see goals like that every week. Courtois is easily the best keeper (imo) in the premiership and Adam foxed him. Definitely full of technique in my book. Edit: Pele tried it in 1970 and missed the target
  13. I watch MOtD and they had a poll tonight on "WHICH IS THE BEST LONG-RANGE GOAL?" They showed Beckham's, Alonso's, Rooney's and Figueroa's along of course with Charlie's. Charlie won with 44% of the vote. What the f*ck are the other 56% on about????
  14. It makes a pleasant change after all these years to read of Rangers being interested in players of substance. I hope we see a lot more of this 'speculation' in the months ahead.
  15. I watched the game today and the co-commentator (whoever he was) mentioned that Adam was tired and couldn't run, long before he scored that goal. I think he was having a dig at the player being unfit without actually saying it. When that goal went in the guy said "he was probably too tired to run with it so he had a shot at goal" I think the fact that Adam is unfit probably helped him in looking for some other option. In fairness to Charlie. it paid off for him.
  16. He's out of contract next year, can't see him getting an extension with Stoke, maybe see him back here.
  17. This is goal of the season EPL 2014/15 Alas, his side lost 1-2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkZBGaQh0pM
  18. All born and bred Edinburgh men?
  19. Yes, that was my thoughts when I first looked at it. It is a great likeness, very impressive work by the artist Helen Runciman
  20. From the official site... RANGERS has today unveiled a bronze bust in tribute to the late Light Blues legend Sandy Jardine. The bronze bust – created by renowned Scottish artist Helen Runciman and paid for by Rangers supporters - will be permanently displayed on the Marble Staircase just below the Hall of Fame Board in the Main Stand at Ibrox, which is fitting as Sandy was the driving force behind its creation and a proud member of that exclusive band of Rangers greats. A number of Sandy’s former team-mates – including Alex MacDonald, Willie Johnston, Colin Stein and Alex Miller – joined Rangers Director John Gilligan, NARSA’s Bobby Smith and other fans at Ibrox for this special tribute to one of the Club’s greatest ever servants. Sandy’s wife Shona, other family members and friends are guests of the Club at Sunday’s game against Hearts and Greatest Ever Ranger John Greig will assist Shona in an official ceremony on the Marble Staircase on Sunday morning. Rangers Interim Chairman Paul Murray commented: “It was a tremendous honour and privilege to know Sandy and he epitomised everything that is good about Rangers Football Club. A man of great integrity, he is sorely missed but will never be forgotten. The Sandy Jardine Stand is a lasting tribute to his memory and the bronze bust created in his honour will be given pride of place on the Marble Staircase. “The Rangers supporters have been the driving force behind this tribute and everyone at the Club would like to thank all of the fans who helped raise the funds some time ago for its creation. “NARSA members in particular deserve special recognition but so many supporters around the world have contributed and artist Helen Runciman has created a fantastic tribute to a true legend.” Director John Gilligan added: “Sandy was a man of great integrity and honour and he will always be missed by the Rangers Family. “However, anyone who climbs the famous Marble Staircase in the Main Stand will now be reminded of Sandy’s incredible influence on the Club – on and off the park – and I can think of no better tribute to a great Ranger. “Once again the fans have played a key role at Rangers and I would like to add my thanks for their fundraising efforts which led to the creation of such a terrific tribute to Sandy.” Artist Helen Runciman commented: “Sandy was a big supporter of my work and arranged to have The Gallant Pioneers and the Tom Vallance paintings displayed at the top of the Marble Staircase. “In planning the tribute painting for the Barca Bears 40th Anniversary Dinner, it was a dream come true to work closely with Sandy and see first-hand his love for the Club and its traditions. To be asked to create the bronze bust was a great honour for me. “It was a daunting challenge to take on the task and I only hope that the end result is something that Sandy, his family, friends and Rangers fans around the world would approve of.” The Light Blues legend sadly lost his battle with cancer on 24 April 2014 but is forever in our thoughts and the Club and supporters have now marked his phenomenal 50-year contribution to Rangers. A truly world-class fullback, Sandy was twice Player of the Year in Scotland and a key man in the Rangers treble-winning teams of 1976 and 1978. He also featured in two World Cups, winning 38 caps for Scotland and made almost 800 appearances for Rangers scoring 77 goals in the process. He won three League Championships, five Scottish Cups, five League Cups and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1972 with the Light Blues and is rightly regarded as one of the greatest Rangers players of the post-war era. His contribution to Rangers since his return in the late 90’s was just as significant as he epitomised the dignity, class, history, standards and traditions that are the hallmarks of this 143-year old institution. The Club took the decision to rename the Govan Stand in his honour at the start of the season and now the supporters have paid their own tribute with the creation of a bust in his memory. http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/8951-fans-tribute-to-sandy?
