  2. That's sad, I feel a bit rotten about this news. Though not half as bad when Bud left in '72.
  3. After all the stuff I've read about this player, I can't wait to see him pull the jersey on.
  4. Stubbs' backs down while Hibs struggle to sell Ibrox allocation The latest reports ahead of Rangers’ Championship league clash with current nemeses Hibernian is that Sunday’s guests will not be bringing a full away crowd to Ibrox, such is their present inability to sell the full 900 briefs as per their allocation. The fixture, preceded by a bigger war of words and ‘mind games’ than usually seen for matches in the Championship, could go a long way to deciding the destination of the league title and automatic promotion, but apparently Easter Road’s faithful are unwilling to witness such an important match first-hand. It is just one of a glut of stories leading up to the pivotal match which adds subplot and intrigue to the afternoon, such as Stubbs claiming Rangers’ boss Mark Warburton “has it easy” while Warburton hit back telling the Hibernian manager to “shut his mouth”. His counterpart tried to smooth the waters a little with this: "I, for one, know how hard it is in management to succeed and then suddenly I'm saying he's got a very easy job? I didn't say that." Actually he did. But let us not squabble. http://www.ibroxnoise.co.uk/2015/08/stubbs-backs-down-while-hibs-struggle.html?
  5. Sorry mate, I didn't know that.
  6. He's happily married to a lovely woman dB.
  7. Too many for the SProfessionalFL certainly.
  8. Kilmarnock FC have a very smart up to date comfortable stadium, maybe they'll let Ayr United share it with them.
  9. MALMO goalkeeper Johan Wiland has accused Celtic’s players of acting like pigs during the Champions League play-off first leg in Glasgow. Wiland says the Swedish side were provoked throughout the match which Celtic won 3-2. He was particularly critical of Leigh Griffiths, who scored twice for Ronny Deila’s side. The keeper’s team-mate, Rasmus Bengtsson, also criticised the Scottish champions’ behaviour, singling out Scott Brown and Nadir Ciftci. “They are pigs, all of them, that’s the way it is,” Wiland told the Swedish newspaper Kvallsposten. “You just have to try to stay cool and do what we have to do on the pitch. Leigh Griffith, well I don’t know what to say, he behaved like a child, tugging shirts all the time.” Bengtsson, a defender with Malmo, told another paper, Sportbladet: “There were some players who talked a lot. You probably know who I mean. They have a captain [brown] and a few others who like to talk. But that’s the way it is at this level. One player who came on [Ciftci] was not particularly nice. The first thing he wanted to do when he came on was talk. He had more focus on that than his performance.” http://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/spfl/celtic-players-behaved-like-pigs-says-malmo-keeper-1-3863969 The scum really are a despised club despite what they might want you to believe.
  10. I'm hoping Stenhousemuir or Queens Park in the semis
  11. Rangers XI 1991. L-R: Shaun Rouse, John Morrow, David Bowman, Craig Flannigan, Levi Smith, David Hagen, John Walker, Rodney Paterson, Stephen Watson, Danny Donnachie, Steven Pressley.
  12. It's not always the country's/teams with the better coefficient who go through when 11 meets 11, mostly it is the best team who comes out on top. When Rangers reached the 2008 UEFA Final the country's coefficient must have been quite high, but instead of it helping and improving all the clubs efforts in European competitions it has plummeted to new depths. Rangers fans don't need or want a successful selik, just a successful Rangers.
  13. His Bolton side currently sit bottom of the Championship on GD...they haven't even scored yet. So yes, he could be back up here quicker than you can say lurgan bigot.
  14. Ernie.......
  15. They are shipping goals like no tomorrow, dik van dyke might just be working his ticket. The thought of playing in front of a half empty stadium every week again doesn't bear thinking about. Southampton in the EPL is a far better alternative. Delia will be off soon too.
  16. Is it not time clubs from the lower divisions started spending their 'bonus payments' earned exclusively from the blue pound into the 21st Century? Thus helping to bring better stadia not only for their own fans but the visiting fans as well? Somerset Park, Ayr today. This football ground like most in Scotland has missed an opportunity to make the football experience more attractive to your average fan. Take the Blue Pound and keep it is their motto.
  17. Hold your horses lads...games last more than 95 minutes where they are concerned...we await a protest with baited breath. But hey? I feel confident they are out already.
  18. I wonder what trick Nathan will treat us to tonight - hope he waits until the game is won, say around the 20th minute?
  19. Hope you're not a jinx Frankie, it's been pretty bad these past few years
  20. You're getting me excited with your positivity, got me thinking we can win the Premiership next season.
  21. Rangers are on the brink of landing highly-rated Arsenal youngster Gedion Zelalem on a season-long loan deal. Record Sport can reveal the 18-year-old flew into Glasgow this afternoon and was whisked straight to the championship club’s Murray Park training complex for face-to-face signing talks with manager Mark Warburton which will continue throughout the afternoon. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tips Rangers target Zelalam for the top: Gedion has the talent to become a great player It’s understood a number of English clubs had been hoping to land the attacking midfielder who is being hotly tipped as a future USA international after recently switching allegiances from Germany. But after tying up similar temporary deals with Spurs for Nathan Oduwa and Dominic Ball, Warburton now appears in pole position to snap up another young talent from London. Zelalem played for the Gunners Under-21s on Friday night, scoring a stunning late solo goal to wrap up a 1-0 win. WATCH his strike here...http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/rangers-verge-signing-arsenal-superkid-6273702
  22. It's fantastic that in all the stuff that has been thrown at us that some bloke from Tottenham, England shows exactly what he thinks of the game in Scotland..an eye opener. Celtic get free entry to the Champions League qualification stage without challenge year on year and this guy says 'Aye that'll be right'! We are a year behind where we should be, granted.
  23. I've got very slight memories of that 'other' game against Valletta in the 90's. Never mind my slight memories I want to focus on the topic piece. Anyone into record breaking scores this year? They don't come along very often do they? Would you bet your house on Rangers running up double figures this season? As Topic.
  24. What game are we talking about?
