12/01: American businessman Robert Sarver pulls out of running
Rangersitis replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Green was always in 3. Sarver would be in 2 if I thought that his bids were anything more than a tactic to increase pressure on those who would be in group 1. That system is one that we should all adopt, and when a name is mentioned, everyone gets to give them a rating. -

Is there? I heard the same thing trotted out with Green's appearance on the scene simply because 'he isn't Whyte'. Just to clarify, I have not compared Sarver to Ashley, Easdale or Whyte. Club 9 and Bill Miller would be closer to how I view it all. -
It certainly gives credence to the claims that the board/investors really don't care what the attendance figures are. Every penny that doesn't go into the coffers at this point in time is good news, but I feel sorry for the fans of both clubs who are being prevented from attending or feel that they can't handle over their cash.

I'm sure that his personal wealth will still pointing in the right direction. His ego may have taken a bit of a pummelling, but his bank balance and the trappings of wealth that surround him will have soothed the pain.

Dave King's arrival in Glasgow imminent?

You got me banned from FF as they thought that I was you under a new username. You were banned for being on the wrong board. Hmmm. -

He was being feted by quite a few from these shores never mind those in the States. -

Caution would seem like a sensible approach in our circumstances. Of course not, but did anybody actually say that? They have had numerous opportunities to do so. If they were going to do it, they would have done so before now. This constant hankering after a billionaire saviour is a big part of where we now find ourselves. Again, this premise is one that I have never seen mentioned. -

At no point did I state anything of the sort, but don't let that stop you trying to insinuate that I did. -

You can turn round and say whatever you want, whenever you want just as I can. I thought that the Sarver interest was bullshit from the start. Nothing has happened to make me change my mind on that, but if it does, I will say so and admit that I misjudged the situation. -

So, how is your track record of being able to look and see what is going on? -

You say that and then go on to bemoan the grip Ashley and his co-conspirators have on the club. Astonishing. -
As Frankie's link shows, the headline doesn't quite tell the full story.

Didn't it strike you as odd that this Arizona-loving, family orientated, basketball nut decides to bid on Rangers on the advice of a guy who is a sawker coach for kids? All the bullshit that has been fed to the support for years now and that tale didn't set off alarm bells for you? I heard a statement yesterday which spelled out his intentions. He's offski. -

What is credible about putting in bids that had no chance of going through? The initial rhetoric coming from his camp talked of him working side by side with King and the Three Bears.....followed by two 'bids' which sidelined them altogether. The cover story he gave was also fanciful. I will watch with interest as he goes around Europe gobbling up large pieces of clubs with Davie Robertson as his trusted advisor. -

It's my opinion. I don't have to substantiate that. -

Aye, because that strategy has stood you in good stead throughout this saga. -
Yet you only saw the final 15 minutes.

That wasn't the point that I was making, but I do agree that would be the logical thing to do. -

Just like the EGM call that was going to be made within 24 hours....on Wednesday or Thursday? -
Superb, gunny!

Bringing back the unwritten signing policy; having strippers perform at half-time; and getting Greggs into the concourses. Everything else will take care of itself after that.
