Fine, but others don´t share that view . Sportsound has an obvious relevance regards the current narrative, ask 26th. You have told us your view on listening to the BBC on several occasions in the last 2 or 3 days, we know it. IMO it is generally better offering something constructive on these types of threads -

Tell Laurel and Hardy to stop trying a pathetic sideways go at me for posting about the actual subject matter and there is no conversation. He fully deserved the reply. -

That really hurt so it did ? Bit pathetic and only goes to help illustrate my point about the lack of political savvy amongst most of us. Try being constructive, suggest other ideas, something. -

PQ thread on action at PQ goes LIVE ? - Support for Independent Investigation from various (most) - Billy Dodds chucks in a mini grenade with character assanination of Big John (Dundee CEO) !! - Dundee and SPFL have refused to come on programme. The 388K public face of the SPFL is still hiding. - Big Dick (copyright 26th) is doing his best to shield the men who are scared to show face or lift a telephone.....I´ll call instead, I´ll dae it, gonnae, please !! - Michael Stewart (with Tom English and callers for Big Dick in support) go after Rangers because of the "whistleblower evidence" statement. IMO it WAS an OG on our part and left this avenue of attack open. - Stewart in "looking for Blue Sky thinking" shock - Cormack (sheep) says Aberdeen voted No, then quickly changes to Yes - Cormack defends Doncaster. Apparently you cannae just blame the 388K man. - Cormack not happy with timescale given by SPFL to consider resolution but not aware of bullying (later part teed up by fellow sheepie in studio, ie. nice to finish on a positive) - Doncaster called Cormack before vote cast to advise re score on the doors - Cormack gets muddled and fuels more questions than he gives answers - Cormack backs call for Independent Investigation (difficult not to after the confusing pish he came out with just before) - English goes after Doncaster, Big Dick with passionate defence of the invisible man - Doncaster must really love Big Dick - Falkirk chairman Gary Deans..."wasn´t really to do with the money" - Deans is not happy with handling of the whole thing - Deans not bothered about investigation but at same time says Independent aspect apeals (confused), something has to be looked at but now not the time - Deans not happy with Cormack/Doncaster phonecallgate - Deans rips pish out of Dundee/SPFL IT story with joke Independent Investigation gathering support Billy Dodds seemed to disappear after having a go at Nelms who wasn´t present (??) Tom English smells a story starring The Invisible Man and Sheep Big Dick has really uncovered himself today #alternative_transparency edit Dodds has reappeared ? -
All partisanship aside, wrt corporate goverence, this really stinks and like a dead thing on a public street, with every passing day the smell gets stronger. The sound of SPFL silence might be broken with Doncaster currently shouting down a phone line ! That salary ain´t looking very safe.

Maybe we were better not being represented ? Lesson of today Don´t send anyone to Saturday Sportsound this summer unless he actually knows his stuff and is media trained.

Apparently, if there is no change to the financial model, (percentage payments to all current top tier teams and for top 2 or 4 of Championship) a vote to be passed only needs 75%, ie, 9 votes rather than 11. -
The Ferguson brothers were excellent footballers but as pundits they come with strings attached and they´ll most often go in the direction prompted by whoever is in charge. That is exactly what will happen when Cosgrove speaks with Derek later on. Could you not phone up and verbally viscerate ra bastards in a particularly calm tone ?
-
Off the ball preparing the ground, as expected. Cosgrove..."whit do Rangers want oot o this?"..."what are they getting so angry about?"....in the usual dismissive tone. I think they call that misleading by omission. edit Just to add, I´m paraphrasing what Cosgrove said.

Craig, it´s not about playing nice with PQ. It´s about taking advantage for ourselves with a telefonic presence in what will be an important 90 minutes or so regards the ongoing narrative. Given the extraordinary circumstances, I don´t see why we need to kiss and make-up so to speak. Not sure who it would be though, they´d need to be very sharp. We might be able to get a word in via a proxy, would very much depend on who. The SPFL will be looking to contain any discussion on accountability with a message to move-on and they´ll be well prepared. We need to take advantage of the bad feeling towards them and if the likes of Tom English agrees with us then all the better. --------------------------------- Generally speaking,.... Too many people are hung up in this never ending battle with the rest of the world where it seems we need to burn bridges and shout at people. We seem to collect enemies,...yet are somehow surprised when the same world consider us as enemy, move with greater politcal dexterity and pish all over us repeatedly....You don´t have to love everyone, you start by operating with much more savvy and a defined strategy. We are well down the road to Espanyolification. Generally, it´s not a good idea to do keep doing the same old things that were in part, why we find ourselves in such a bad place. The club too often seem to tailor output for X, Y or Z,... dependent on what the support are saying in social media. It might give the support the equivalent of a temporary high but it very raely does anything constructive. You do that for years and it contributes in no small measure to why we are where we are. Putting it bluntly, politically we have been and remain pretty f**king awful. The club, the support, the lot. It wasn´t so bad or in your face when the football team were successful but that was nearly a decade ago. Now the disparity between us and them is significant. Politically, financially and on the park...hence full blown Espanyolification is getting closer. We have made some good appointments within the club re. commerce, youth development, etc but the tangible benefits may take some time to come through. IMO, really what we need is three fold (ignoring the virus fallout for a moment) 1. Finance / better revenue generation 2. Above all a successful football team 3. A fresh holistic strategy regards the politics/media and the like. -

SPFL Season declaration challenged legally (ongoing discussion)
buster. replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
If you are going to quote me then please do it accurately because your post is misleading and fails to grasp what I was saying. Below is part of what I typed..... It´s not about a consensus with the BBC as you mistakenly quoted. It´s about taking advantage of an important platform on a weekend when the SPFL will be looking to contain the narrative and if possible, between Sportsound and your Sunday press, kill it. It´s about exploiting the set of circumstances that currently exists as best we can. We need our voice heard in a debate that for once we may have some support (consensus) amongst those who will probably be on the programme and we have a long charge sheet to walk them through. As Gaffer said..."Only sustained pressure..." . Generally.......You want different results, open la vista and don´t keep doing or shouting the same thing. The mechanics of it would not be a studio visit, it would be a phone call. -

double post -
Last weeks programme was where and when things really kicked off. At the moment, it´s the single biggest influence regards the current narrative. Narrative for what Rangers are doing at the moment is crucial. The SPFL won´t be waiting to see what happens on Sportsound, they´ll be looking to control the message as best they can. Last weeks programme was where and when things really kicked off. ps. I don´t want to de-rail this thread, any further disagreement, point or whatever please use the SPFL thread where I´ve posted the same,...thank´s !

Generally, that is what I´d call the predictable and customary reaction that helps ensure we stay on the same road that tuther side want us to be on. I´m not saying this is a silver bullet, it´s just an idea. -

I´m going to re-post here something I typed on 26th´s PQ thread because looking at it, there is a significant overlap. Nor do I want to de-rail the PQ thread. Context was conversation on the BeebScot Sportsound programme of last Saturday. ------------------------- I listened to the programme and it sounded to me as if the good guys had actually engineered a mini and temporary coup. In other words, our much maligned PR wing recognised the importance of these 90 minutes (pretty much all stakeholders would be listening and it produces headlines) and decided to engineer a takeover of the narrative. We won this particular staging post but made the mistake of over-egging our particluar contribution, when I don´t think we needed to or was it wise to do so. I fancy tomorrow will see another interesting programme and the SPFL will carefully be preparing the ground. Our problem is we can´t contribute directly because of the situation between us and BeebScot. Sometimes you have to do unexpected things to catch the enemy off guard....Why not make a late request and send someone in to put our case forward, if it´s thought it could deliver enough benefit and we could satisfactorily answer the obvious question/attack that would come our way regards "whistleblower evidence". -------------- This isn´t about changing the vote, that´s gone (unless legal challenge goes in sharpish and I´d rate that as doubtful). It´s about pointing the finger at SPFL (as we are doing), holding them to account and ultimately forcing people out of their positions (the likes of Tom English and even Michael Stewart would find it difficult to rally against us regards that). Not to forget the campaign to discredit the inevitable award of the title. We have ammo to use. Simply, a comprehensive timeline of what we actually know plus Partick´s Legal Opinion. Use it in a rational and calm manner looking for consensus. --------------------- If you want different results,...do something different -
Peter´s firefighters tend to take Saturday afternoons off given Sportsound don´t tend to pose their boss any problems. First comes disbelief, quickly followed by anger and now I think you call this the bargaining stage. Spoiler alert* No boycott will ensue other than some individuals who will decide not to spend their hard earned cash on said tickets. -
I don´t think it´ll make any difference. The Geordies should find him a place deep in the North Sea to self isolate.

In the normal world, Doncaster may have thought it time to move on and find something else. Thinking of the upcoming Corona C19 economic carnage, he´ll try his utmost to stick around. -

To be fair, the SPFL have been shown to have behaved in a quite disgraceful manner with a list of offences that came out via whatsup texts, considered legal opinion (PT) , various club representatives, etc. There is only a certain amount the club can do if it´s more or less left on it´s Jack Jones. We might yet cause a resignation, but I wouldn´t bet on it. An independent inquiry will cost money and the SPFL will tell the clubs it´s better that you the members get it. IMO what the club did wrong was miscalculate when it came to deciding on the course and tone of action relative to the chances of winning the fight/ evidence actually held (I presume and think that we have nothing else). Other clubs were always going to go down the route of self-interest, it´s normal. We don´t have a friendly media although you could argue we made good use of the BBC Radio Scotland Sportsound time last Saturday. Which if engineered, the new PR chap can take some credit for. It was certainly right to highlight what was going on and the SPFL and individuals involved have suffered further reputational damage. Not that it seems to bother them. Still find it hard to believe Teflon has stuck around for so long and as for his salary, he´s taking the pish. A negative irony is that in the actual world, where nothing is fair or has to be reasonable, it might be us that suffer more on a reputational basis / ongoing stick from usual suspects. -

From a PLC perspective, Celtic very definately do need Rangers.
