I hope we lose the habit of giving the opposition a clear and early site of our goal. It's happened in the last few games and we won't keep getting away with it. I reckon Aberdeen will start out of the traps by pressing us higher up the pitch than usual and look to make hay from what they hope is another sluggish start by us. -

It's their biggest rivalry although for banter value, it'd be good to see Cove Rangers put them out of a Cup. I think it's fairly obvious that they do more than register as a rival to us and have done for decades, including the 80's prior to the Simpson tackle. -------------------- Aberdeen have seemed to be very mediocre in the League this season but other than their 2 defeats to us, they have only lost ONE game out of the other 18. Outwith the OF, McInnes has again got them to a level that is significantly better than the rest, with Hibs the only other team in remotely the same postcode. Very consistent but in a very grey tone. In other words, today is a significant hurdle to get over. More especially with the players we have missing. Last week was a pivotal win. Today is about starting the downhill side the right way, in one of our most difficult league fixtures. -------------------- By my calculations... - Morelos is one booking away from a suspension. If booked today, he would miss the Hibs (A) game. Could be significant if Roofe isn't back by then. - Re. Hibs (A) Hibs have 3 players one booking away from suspension. Their best piayer at Ibrox the other week, Newell and their 2 recent Scottiish caps, Hanlon and McGinn. If booked against Celtic, they´ll miss game against us. Had their game not been moved to Monday, I reckon they may have missed a different game (if booked v Celtic). - Rangers have scored the same amount of League goals as Aberdeen and Hibs combined (57). - Aberdeen have conceded the same amout of league goals to us in 2 games, as we have to all teams in 22. -

Agreed ! It just seems so obvious... Ultimately, the objective is to safeguard the club and the immediate priority is to reach the place (on and off field) that DK talks of as almost being a slam dunk, but IMO it isn't. There is work to do and there is Covid. We've been under the charge of a board of fans (including DK) who have led a vast improvment on and off field, to the point of giving us a decent chance of reaching some of our most important goals. Covid means that the financial shortfall that needs filled will be greater and will probably last for longer. ie. Biggest current priority wrt to safeguarding club is funding shortfall, at a time when the Covid factor is still unstable and unpredictable. I've said before, 25% of 0 isn't much. -

Fair enough Craig and I don't doubt your sources but I'm a cynical bastard and I've seen these headlines about a list of elite clubs being after so many youngsters and rarely does anything come of it. Betweens agents, inewspapers, social media sites, etc, I think the detailed truth of what is/has happened is often stretched. Billy Gilmour is often cited as the exceptional talent that came through our system. I'm impressed with the lad and not just about his talent as a footballer. It's the professional and mature aproach to his job and the limelight that makes me look at a wee guy in generally a big mans game and think that, he could be the real deal. I don't see that with Kennedy but that is just my largely uninformed opinion/hunch. I remember Brenden Rogers saying how in England the youngsters at the EPL clubs were on a different level when it came to professionalism and dedicating themselves to the game opposed to the majority in Scotland. Not talent, but an approach that gave them a chance to make the most out of what they had......It reminded me of so many European dissapointments over the years, when you'd hear someone say bigger, faster, stronger, about our opponents. SG has brought real professionalism to the club and that is why we are, where we are both at home and abroad. It's been a long time coming. I jus hope it's rubbing off on the academy production line regarding finished products. -

I've always liked the look of Dickson, ever since the Alkass Cup success. Midfielder who has a knack of scoring important goals. As for Kennedy and Liverpool. Sniffing around is a long way away from confirming interest, never mind signing. Had they sniffed and smelt roses he'd most likely be gone. If the player was of a level to have elite clubs as realistic suitors, he wouldn't have signed this contract. -

It's the kind of haircut that young professional footballers who think the world of themselves but who suffer from homesickness in Inverness, would get. ?? -

Aye, about 65% of that goal was down to Cooper. I could watch that side step shuffle all afternoon. I had various favourites over the years, Parlane, Jardine, Russell but Cooper was the player that really excited me. I got in after my first ever week away from home with the school (Loch Tay) and my Dad had kept the newspapers to show me Cooper had signed from Clydebank. I was estatic, happier than at any point during that week. -

No-one gets near to the Clancy level. We've been fairly fortunate to have encountered Aberdeen twice this season when they were powderpuff. Not to say we wouldn't have beaten them anyway, but it was made a lot easier. I don't know what condition their squad is in for this game but we are significantly weaker without Jack, Arfield and Roofe. Still, lots of decent options. I reckon on one change from last week, Hagi for Roofe. -

There was only one Sir Duped ! In 9 months things may look very different but until/ if they do, we are going to need all hands on deck. Covid, Title, CLGS, Player Trading ???? -

My uninformed impression from afar is that C1872 has to a degree, been taken over by the interests/influence of DK. Whether Chris Graham would have played a part in such a hypothesis, I don't know but I'd imagine the bookies would offer short odds on it. That is two guys who have credit in the reputational bank and perhaps DK has so much that it's too easy to say yes. That doesn't make DK into Sir Duped, but it would be more than naughty to go about what he is doing in the way I suggest it might be. -
Why would Scottish fitbaw spend money it can't spare, for a system that doesn't bring what it says on the tin ?

We have a number of options up front and all have contributed notably at various times during this season, but for one reason or another they lose a bit of form, get injured, are rotated, are more fringe than first XI, etc and aren't 8/10 every week. IMO SG&Co have managed this issue successfully and it's unreasonable to expect perfection. I'd also add that good recruitment makes their job easier. -

I don't think the really big clubs with financial clout will be after Kai Kennedy. That is the stuff of tabloid articles. Kennedy will be 19 in March and that is young with a lot of room for development but these days, the elite youngsters are increasingly making their mark at the top level prior to that age. I'm glad we seem to be keeping him but we've heard this so many times and never see them near the first team. If they are good enough, we need to start giving them more opportunities. If they aren't, then the recruiting/development of youngsters isn't working. When we do get a Billy Gilmour, we don't even get to see him. If we are a club where the level of demand on managers isn't conducive to 99% of 21st century young footballers getting oportunities..... and the other 1% get taken by big clubs at 16 years old, is it worth it ? I'd say Dickson or Barjonas should get an opportunity to be first cover/play if neccessary given the current situation. The talk of the steamie is to go out and bring cover in....The lad Kelly, on loan at Ross County should IMO be in the squad next season. Finance is a consideration and we also need more of our own developed players for the European squads in the future. -

The tweeter can't say he "was just criticising Israeli foreign policy" because he evidently wasn't. The tweet was blatantly anti-semitic. You are trying to twist the logic on this, just as you need to invent stuff on other threads to call out posters on the same subject. ------------ @26th of foot Re. Peter He is having a nightmare of a season. Everything he touches is now turning to sh!t. If I could draw a comic sketch/cartoon (a la Viz), it would start with the very professional PLC board holding a meeting in the Hampden Shower area. -

Late November But in a statement, SPFL fixture chief Blair said: "Discussions between Celtic FC and Hibernian FC had taken place about the Celtic v Hibernian league match originally scheduled for Saturday J anuary 9th. "Celtic wished to move the fixture from its scheduled time, to another slot that weekend. When the two clubs could not reach agreement, I received a request from Celtic FC to move their home match against Hibernian FC to Monday January 11th. "I took the request to the SPFL board, noting that Hibernian FC objected to the move. "However, as the proposed date change fell within the same Friday - Monday fixture slot, and was made by the home club, I informed the SPFL board that my intention was to agree to the request. "As has been the case for the past 22 years, SPFL policy, where two clubs do not agree about a fixture change and in the absence of any other relevant factor, is to favour the home club. "Both Celtic FC and Hibernian FC were advised of the change more than an hour before the decision was made public, with no adverse comment being received from Hibernian FC ahead of publication.” https://www.glasgowlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/celtic-v-hibs-fixture-change-19375617 ---------- I brought this up at the time. Bear in mind this is a non-essential overseas travel trip in the midst of a pandemic. The Pandemic isn't relevant ..........How can Blair (SPFL) get away with that ? We know why he gave the OK. The same reason as to why the first OF match was played on the 17/10 #Peter Bottomline SPFL......not fit for purpose -
That is for club management and players....ya jessie Waddle !!! You could argue it was for fans as well up until about 1430hours Saturday past when we took the pivotal 3 points on offer and established a lead of at least 10. No-one is saying we've won the title yet but we are now in relax and enjoy territory. If our lead is reduced/increased then moods will change accordingly. For me, get to 18wins IAR and we've done it. Would be a good way to go into the Antwerp games. Better if we can recapture some form, although our performance blip has returned 12/12 pts and 4 clean sheets
