I said a few days ago that Tav shoud get a night off. He's not a robot and we really need to do all we can to prevent overload/injury given his importance to our good form. The general narrative around why our form disappeared in January surrounds Dubai and Morelos but don't forget Tavernier missed games at that point as well, including the loss at Tynecastle. Giving Bassey the game against Ross County suggests to me that Barisic will be back tonight and the right side (Paterson) will be more than due a 90 minute change. All the other potential changes (other than Goldson, who will most probably play) are relatively regular occurances that SG&Co tend to get right. -

List of CL teams that will be in next weeks draw for the last 32 is now finalized. Disregarding the seeding for a moment, I would like any of the three English teams. Thanks for doing the interview Stevie and IMO it did help clear up (for good and bad) some things. However, on this type of subject where the hard earned cash of so many fans is wanted, absolute transparency and full disclosure from the word go is needed. If it has to be almost dragged out then it's not a good sign.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and (doesn't) quack like a duck, tis probably a duck.

If you are trying to sell something then timing is important. General economic carnage will only get worse in the short to medium term (perhaps beyond that) and with that in mind, for DK, the quicker the better. Then of course, you have the current general feel good factor around the club. From the outside, looking in from afar, ye auld gut feel is saying...... the Club 1872 / Chris Graham / Dave King relationships aren't as transparently healthy and what you'd hope for.

Last night the PLC revealed their plan or hoped for scenario for the next few weeks. - Lennon to stay, up to and including OF match at which point there will be a review - They beat Kilmarnock, win the SC, get a lift and return to form, hope we drop something then don't lose/win at Ibrox - Go off to winter training camp and consolidate the return to form (or if it goes wrong, new manager/caretaker gets a mini pre-season) -------------------- To say it's absolutely vital that we don't allow our standards to drop in the next few games is obvious but this is IMO the period (next 10) where we either break them or we risk a momentum change.

The Rangers of today are different to any other era that I can remember. We are putting together a modern, progressive and very professional football operation that is starting to bear fruit at a first team level. - Consistency in Europe - Recruitment - The actual football - The plethora of goalazoooooooooooos Still need League title, 8 figure incoming transfer fees, pathway for youngsters to become well used, etc....Not forgetting a succession plan for the day SG&Co go to one of those clubs earning the mega money.

Yes, newspapers (especially tabloid comics) generally scan social media, see what is popular/controversial and jump on the back of it. Sometimes trending controversial subjects will coincide with actual news or issues worth covering. Our collective vigilance (was the buzz word back in the day) tends to be reserved for the messengers.
-
Stevie, well done for getting this organised and done ! Hopefully will bring a degree of clarity on some of the issues.
-
No one has said he is. You are basically howling at the moon. Perhaps better to follow your own advice and talk about Club1872 and it's intentions.

Other than his renumeration package, Lawwell is having a nightmare these past few months. From duff managerial appointments in the Hampden showers to an angry mob of his own at the door, who might get worse and turn to apathy #TopTierClosed From aggressively lobbying the government on fans, getting his chums at the SPFL to get the date of the OF match to where he wanted and then finding Covid19 wasn't in on his plan. I reckon the next AGM, will be Peters last with the PLC, regardless of what now happens on the pitch.

Too many times in our relatively recent past, the Rangers support in general have adopted a lemmings-like approach, been guided there in part by those who advised them to ignore X, Y or Z and have found themselves to have been bullshitted/exploited............then they have gone and repeated the same mistake again and show no signs of learning lessons. Examples involving Jackson being Ticketus story/CW/2011 and DR ban/Easdales & Toxic Jack/2013(IIRC) To be clear. Jackson is a poor journalist but does retain a relatively significant role in the whole low quality shooting match of Scottsh Fitbaw. With KJ and the DR, it's not so much a one-sided conspiracy, it's more about money (note. BBC Scotland is different/more influence and more conspirationally political). The DR is now, like other tabloids, pretty much a clickbait orientated comic but once in a while something worth reading may come up (that will take different guises for different people). Bottomline Mind is better kept open and situations judged on their merits as and when they come along.
-
That goes for the team, our players but for us, the support....it's too good to miss at the moment. Rumour is that the upcoming PLC ZOOMERS AGM is to held in the Hampden showers.

I think it's the ongoing increasingly omnishambolic situation over at Darkheid that pushes optimism levels so high rather than simply the 7 point gap, which could be flipped in a fortnight if they got going under a new manager and things reversed.
-
There is a run of difficult games on either side of Hogmanay, that if we can get through and at least retain the current gap, then I'd retain the good positive vibes, but without so much of the current nerves that come from too much scar tissue. For me, we aren't yet at Base Camp (after next OF match). 23/12/20 PRE St. Johnstone 20 : 45 Rangers 26/12/20 PRE Rangers 13 : 30 Hibernian 30/12/20 PRE St. Mirren 20 : 45 Rangers 02/01/21 PRE Rangers 13 : 30 Celtic 09/01/21 PRE Aberdeen 16 : 00 Rangers 16/01/21 PRE Motherwell 16 : 00 Rangers 23/01/21 PRE Rangers 16 : 00 Ross County 27/01/21 PRE Hibernian 20 : 45 Rangers Hey, but it's only one game at a time !!!

Jackson is usually politically motivated in his editorial slant. In a way that reflects personal (source) relationships, or lack of, with those involved.
-
Personally, don't agree with it, but it's your baw and I won't do it again. I recall one side of a particular struggle pushing a similar argument to ignore a certain media outlet a few years ago. In particular, a statement from Toxic Jack that also brought the "avoidance of doubt" into the lexicon of Scottish football.
-
I've been away for a while and wasn't aware of any absolute decree. If posters don't want to read it, they don't have to click the link. If it's simply about not giving them clicks, someone can C&P it. Personally, in this case I think it worth a read (agree with it, parts of it or none of it) and would caution against an attitude of ignoring everything that comes from X, Y or Z just because he/she is not always onside. That way of thinking has tripped the general support up in the past and helped allow all kinds of shite to go down.

Heard a European stat mentioned on the Gersnet podcast referring to the amount of games SG&Co have been in charge of for Rangers. Another way of looking at it. When I started supporting Rangers the first European match I can remember was a ECWC 1st round tie against Ankaragücü in the 1973/74 season. Back in the day, European ties weren't as plentful as today and they held, at least for me, something very special and important. A chance to strut our stuff in front of the whole of Europe. Many aspects have since changed but in the context of sheer number of games....From Shkupi to the 2nd leg of this seasons last 32, it'll be 43 European games for this management team. To get to the same number, you would have to go from that game against the Turks in 1973 to a trip to Kiev in 1987 and all sorts in between.

The oldest maxim in football, 'one game at a time' is the way to go. However, this week should be about prioritising the game at Tannadice, we've earned the right to be able to do so and have the depth and quality of squad to reasonably expect that we can return from Poland with a positive result. Lech changed their customary attacking style to a more pragmatic approach when they came to Ibrox. All things considered, I'd imagine they'll go back to more adventurous style on Thursday. The Poles also won 4 zip yesterday and for this game, I can see a continuation, similar to our recent European results, 3-3, 2-2, 3-2...ie. goals, goals, goals. The lack of current options in the central defence probably mean Goldson will play but I'd definitely give Tavernier a night off and play Paterson, who needs minutes to help him build confidence and feel an active part of things. How many players haven't missed a minute of the EL group stages during the last 3 seasons (including this one) ? I can think of 3 of ours. A stat worthy of a UEFA tweet.

It might. It would, if accompanied by a win in Poland bring in an extra 1M. A connected issue....I have seen Goldson go down injured in the last two matches. The initial sight of which brings on a sense of dread, far worse than conceding a goal. IMO, neither Tav or Goldson should be in the starting XI in Poland and we should be confiding in the strength of the squad, giving minutes to players that need further experience so as to be better prepared if needed for a longer stint. With the match timetable infront of us, this might be the last opportunity until the Scottish Cup at the very end of January.

Will Cosgrove cross over toward the crash barriers as the Saints go marching in ? Peter needs all the friends he can muster........
