  1. Lesson for the day Don't ship 9 goals ! Parker and Ross gone Not so sure Jack Ross will get another top flight job as manager without going down to the lower divisions to re-establish his reputation.
  2. I would add that he didn't do what was 'advertised', when required. Substitute appearances in two of the home draws (Hearts and Motherwell). 159 minutes in total. A different type of cost to bringing in players who don't perform. His signing was another 'outside bet'. Talent with baggage
  3. Net spend would be a more useful number to know.
  4. We probably sold Simpson for something like 25K and paid him off with 100K As for a profit on Bacuna, I would be sceptical.
  5. Agreed I think the club have to a degree, caused the heavier focus on the positive (or lack of consideration of the 'negative'), with the way it communicates on the numbers/issues. They present everything in a very positive way. Ok and partly understandable but it means a lack of general awareness on the other side of the balance sheet.
  6. Cheap doesn't necessarily mean bad. Ramsey had quality but PREDICTABLY , he sat out more than he played. Doubt he was cheap. Diallo was a young man who wasn't quite ready for the weight of the jersey. More youngsters will suffer this than will be a success. Ie. Both were outside bets
  7. Yes, I think the AGM will address this. If I had to guess, disabled facilities will feature. We wait for the relevant accounts to quantify it with precision. However, IMO it is reasonable to expect strong numbers, relative to previous years.
  8. Some fans will look at the squad and it's lack of reliable depth/quality, rather than the number of fees paid. We have done ok in some deals that haven't been about big transfer fees (perhaps a significant wage). I think we are short given our injury problems/Morelos conundrum/plethora of players that need 'managed' due to age/chronic injury.
  9. You often tell us that here are many 'no-go areas' for a football fans message board due to a lack of precise knowledge or respect for respective director(s). The fact is that football fans do talk about such things regardless and whilst you are right to qualify such a discussion, don't expect to close it down. The irony being the Lounge and your willingness to repeatedly pronounce on more important issues way above your paygrade, mostly without precise knowledge or 'due respect'. Free speech in both Rangers chat & the lounge !! 😀
  10. Shelf life for a Premiership manager down south is much longer than in Scotland. Moyes has been at WHU for nearly 3 years. Not one current top flight manager in Scotland has been in a job that long. Only 3 managers (15%) have been appointed in EPL since Gerrard joined Villa. In Scotland, 7 have (58%).
  11. No more injury prone players. The squad has too many as it is.
  12. The tweet said that those were the numbers announced by the club. They understandably don't give a rundown of costs (other than a general view in the annual accounts) and hence providing such figures would be (educated) guesswork. The revenue figures are significant in their record breaking glory. If significant profit hasn't been made, heids should roll.....but the accounts this year and next, will tell us more.
  13. The ticket prices have sparked a wider debate. Recently on Gersnet, mygers came under the microscope. As the cost of living grows disproportionately to wages, the noise will get louder. The club would be wise to make tangible inroads in giving something back to those they repeatedly praise as loyal supporters but treat as mug clients who they can fleece, repeatedly. It isn't that they don't reward loyalty, they put a 'tax' (mygers) on it Invest in disabled facilities, ticket operations, pre-season friendly on ST book or whatever....but now that finances are under control, take the opportunity to quell potential loss of revenue and create some goodwill. I think you will see something announced at the AGM. Ultimately, positive on-pitch results mean they can continue to do as they please but go out of Europe before Xmas and fall behind in the league and it may go the other way.
  14. Rangers to win the group, 14/1 Ross County to bt Celtic Wednesday, 14/1 Tenner on a double would pay 2,250 !!
  15. EPL clubs will pay him more than we should. No great loss.
  16. Over all our CL group campaigns, we have never won more than ONE home game. I am sure we have went into all campaigns looking to win all our home games. Yes, we should look to do so again. The history tells you that it is very unlikely to happen. Home games against top side in group. Marseille, 2-2 Juventus, 0-4 Ajax, 0-1 Bayern Munich, 1-1 Monaco, 2-2 Man utd., 0-1 Inter, 1-1 Barca, 0-0 Sevilla, 1-4 Man Utd., 0-1 Liverpool, ?-? 11th time lucky ?
  17. I agree re. CL games. It's the overall holistic view I am looking at.
  18. People are free to complain about what they want.
  19. Over 10 CL group campaigns, we average 1.2 wins per 6 games. One win every 5 games. Some campaigns we have won 2 matches, others zero.
  20. Crossed lines. I thought we were talking about Rangers and "a balancing act" when it came to revenue / give something back I didn't realize you were highlighting your own position on it.
  21. If enough supporters make a noise about it, they'll be forced into doing something. I just saw on FF a 250 post thread on the subject. It is definitely becoming an issue.
  22. You say it is a "balancing act". However you defend an "act" with little to no balance.
