Depends on perspective. From a business POV, the company have got this right. They have exploited and made extra money on the back of sheer demand. From a club/fan relationship POV (which is constantly 'sold' as how it is) it is a tax on loyalty and as Frankie said, isn't a good look. Should we get a year or two of CL money then perhaps the club can look to reward loyalty a little more. Whilst we don't, it'll be constantly trying to bridge financial gaps with little leeway for 'generosity'.

Wow !! We made a specific bit of history (comeback from 2 goals) and contributed to what has been mostly, a quite amazing few years in Europe. Very glad to say the humble pie went down very nicely, just didn't see that coming. Got some breaks but to a degree, you have to make your own luck. Huge result in terms of prestige, momentum and finance. Such a comeback will be noted throughout Europe and help consolidate general reputation. Very big for GVB's credibility rating and for the team to grow into the season, (and avoided recrimination fallout). They sorted themselves out quickly last week and adopted a near perfect tactical approach. ....Our lack of 'everything' on the night, made it look masterful. ie. I think they'll get their tactical approach right and it is about us throwing a spanner in its works to see how they react to the occasion.

The evidence that I can see thus far suggests that we are going out tonight. To go through, I think we'd need to click into top gear for periods of this match and defend well throughout. Not impossible, but unlikely. I can't see us suddenly clicking with high tempo, slick football but we could end up replacing it with a high energy approach/less precise. The danger with the latter is that after about half an hour, we drop off it and that we could easily be counter-attacked from the word go, if not precise. The other approach is to be patient. Start fast but not in a sustained way and look to conserve energy, thinking about the 90 minutes. Against Malmo last year, it was the former. We got the goal we needed to level the tie after 18 minutes but we were knackered after about 35 minutes and never really recovered, even against 10 men. Maybe Gio will be slightly more conservative and think about the 90 minutes but at the same time, he will have to be more direct from the word go than of late.....It was Cedric Itten and Alex Lowry who scored our last First Half goals in a competitive match (Hearts, Away in League last season). I didn't watch the match, but to win it was at least an excellent result for Dundee Utd. Bookies odds were comparable to when we go up there. Jack Ross does seem to be putting together an interesting team that may well build on their first year back in the top flight. The more quality in the top division, the better. That said, can't see anything but a second leg defeat that will put them out but then I didn't give them a chance last night. In my younger days as a Marine based in Arbroath, me and a few colleagues would nip down to Tannadice on a Wednesday night for their European games. They were able to raise their game repeatedly and had a manager who knew what he was doing. I sometimes see teams play tactics that are beyond them and end up paying for it. I think we have often played tactics that haven't suited the players we have. It often comes down to attitude and hunger for us because unless the tempo is high, watching us against a low block can be like drawing teeth. The more I look at it, the less convinced I am about our squad and think that this season isn't going to bring much joy.

Manchester City and Liverpool might as well be playing a different sport.
