  1. The dreams come after watching it.
  2. Well, who could forget that mazy from Boogie when we beat Dundee United 7-1, almost overshadowed the 5 goals from Kris Boyd. All that with 10 men from the 51st minute after Kenny Miller was sent off. Oh, it was 2009 and yes, McGregor was playing. So in three of the matches he's played against Dundee United at Ibrox, its a 17-1 aggregate. Bit like Scottish sides in European group stage football this season.
  3. Six IIRC. But he refers to the other way around.
  4. If you could combine the application of Wright with the ability of Morelos, you'd have a real player. Wright is the type of player who might have been signed by Jock Wallace in his second spell but jettisoned when Souness arrived.
  5. If he can't make our midfield when it is so bereft of good options, he isn't making it at Ibrox. King CH and Sands midfield for Saturday ?
  6. He has done ok of occasion but he has also been very much part of a creaking and poorly coordinated Rangers defence (and midfield who give the ball away too easily and often). Bottomline, he isn't a centre-half and wouldn't be playing there if we had managed the squad better. Needs a run in midfield to see if he is worth considering, when his loan expires. I've not seen enough yet to suggest that he is worth the fee mentioned in reports.
  7. Last time we beat them 5-0 at Ibrox was 2012. The time before that was 2007, Walter's first game of his second spell. Allan McGregor played in both and will probably start tomorrow, in 2022. edit IIRC The second spell of Jock Wallace also started with a home game against Dundee United. It wasn't a 5-0 win. How about bringing SG back for tomorrow ??😙
  8. He isn't match sharp and to have started him against such fast and nippy quality last night wouldn't have been good for him or the team. Personally, I would have started King beside Goldson. Sands needs to be taken out of central defence against Dundee United and if not King, Davies should come in. Re. Money spent on Davies, would IMO, have been better used for a position where we don't have a quality young player coming through, such as King.
  9. So good, you assumed the role of the Black Knight. 😄
  10. This is like an auction. Start on 1, .......2, a 3, anyone for 4, yes...what about 5
  11. The level of this CL group is a new book, as far as we are concerned. Our most difficult European group ever....... meets........ unbalanced squad with little depth Result is what we are seeing
  12. He came, he did well, we kept hold of him for too long.
  13. Didn't see it so I was only going on what has been put out there. If UEFA see it the same way as you then it'll be another fine to add to the others.
  14. List of UEFA charges/Fines will be relatively high and if UEFA consider safety of players to have been an issue, they may start or give warnings about stand closures.
  15. That may be all the first team management can focus on at this moment in time. However, beyond that, others need to think about the bigger picture, where this is going and put together a plan.
  16. The worst thing was that it was predictable a couple of months ago before this season started.
  17. Reallity may be playing more of our youngsters and more pain. But it might be a way forward, if you appoint the right manager and SOMEHOW manage expectations down.
  18. When one of the issues is mentality, you have a fundamental problem When some don't appear as they want to be there, you are restricted in choice When too many are chronically injured or old, you are further restricted in choice When you repeatedly come out of transfer windows without improving starting XI, you are going backwards When the average of your team is touching 30, you lack vibrance and energy When you have a manager who isn't a strong leader added to the above, it is only going one way.
  19. The GVB question centres on if he is capable of winning a league title. I think we need really strong leadership from a manager and I don't see it with GVB. Who comes in ? Finances ? Difficult questions that will probably see Gio stay on, but we know where this movie is heading.
  20. He might for about 6 or 7 games or until the winter break. I don't even think the question of blame is........... manager/coach or squad. Substitute the or for and. The squad is patently not good enough other than when occasional motivation kicks in. The manager doesn't convince me either but when the recruitment is as poor as it has been (in short term regards recent summer window) then he hasn't a functional paddle.
  21. Probably having treatment again. If so, it was right not to send him out and have him standing around.
  22. Our squad management has been poor. We have hung on to too many players for too long. We have recruited poorly for several windows, with the odd exception. We have too many players who need managed due to chronic injury problems/age. The way this season is going was predictable and in some ways resembles Celtic of two seasons ago. We are capable of the odd performance, but you know too many in this squad just can't do consistency and that is why the League is already gone, IMO.
  23. The CL group is just way above the level this group of players can get to and will provide further heavy setbacks. It is getting to the stage where it is pretty much a write off. Last game at home to Ajax will probably be our best chance of getting close to points. Gio did exactly that with Feyenoord in the CL, 5 losses, then a win on MD6. Dropping points domestically is what would hurt him more.
  24. We have had a team/squad who over a few years have grown in European football with the pinnacle coming last May and the EL Final. However many of that team/squad are past their sell by date for this club and that has coincided with upping the level to the CL (probably our most difficult European group ever). A double whammy, the numbers get embarrassing and it won't change at Anfield. The CL is now a higher level than it was 10-15 years or so ago. Extreme capitalism at work
