Not that long ago, but still you refer to a different age. The traits that you might associate with leadership material for a dressing room are generally frowned upon in the modern game and society, in general. I would suggest that you really need a management team to set examples and not let things get out of hand. Gerrad was a leader, Gio isn't. Gerrard with Beale worked well........(until it didn't / everything has a sell by date but we got a payback from Villa)

I remember Scotland getting beaten 5-0 by Portugal and it became known as the night a team died. Collectively, this Champions League campaign looks like finally putting paid to much of the current squad. Recruitment and building another squad obviously won't happen quickly, but when it does we need to see a new first team manager in charge. Questions need to be asked of Ross Wilson as well, prior to the next managerial appointment. The above will cost a lot of money, that I don't believe we have. New FFP regulations will probably further complicate matters. A good thing we have been doing, is investing in our academy. That pathway is going to become well trodden. -

What I meant by the remark is that the gap between the Scottish game's ability to generate revenue and the high end level is only going to keep widening. The only way we can significantly reverse that tendency would be for a restructuring of the game that sees us play more games (lucrative) or move to a different and better league for revenue generation. I am not saying it is likely. At the moment, it obviously isn't. ----------------------- You look at the game last night and football in general. It'd almost be better if the Super League had went ahead and those wealthy clubs had gone off to play only each other. UEFA could have called their bluff and closed the door. That obviously is fantasy given UEFA are addicted to cash. -

It will be about personal pride. I agree that Gio isn't capable of lifting them and it means that his cards are marked, matter of time. -

Aye, it was always going to present problems. Obviously important that we get right back on it against Motherwell. -

CL was gone anyway but that was embarrassing. Can we just give Napoli a 3-0 and not bother going ? -

Davis is ONLY 37 Three now !! Was always likely the second half would see Liverpool get back on top. Damage limitation again. At least we went for it first half. The Liverpool squad is on another planet. -

Ross McCrorie played in goal once. Can his brother play centre half ? Decent first half We can't defend corners You'd imagine Liverpool will up it and bring on the likes of Salah and Jota. We are going to have to burst a gut to keep in the game. Thing to do would be to score in the first 15 of the 2nd half. -

Going by what Gio was saying that is pretty much what we'll do tonight. Whether we take the chances that come along is the unknown factor....and is why Colak has to start. Would be a real curveball if Morelos started as well. -
Don't give them what they want !! List of FARE attended matches since they started up might be interesting.

Under O'Neill's physical approach plus Larsson they had an excellent home record in the CL, mirrored by an equally awful away record. Funny how things change. Now, they tend to pick up the few points they get away from the disco lights. I remember a pic of legendary Shane Duffy in a European game, left in the wake of an opposition midfielder looking up towards the lights with that glakit expression. Priceless !!

One of those games that things went the outsiders way. Man City missed a penalty, played most of game with 10 men and rested Haaland. Neither of the big outsiders from last night lost. Shaktner also got a home draw with Real Madrid. We need to try and unsettle Liverpool, hope they aren't quite on it and TAKE CHANCES that come along. -
William Hill isn't giving them the full credit they deserve. In six out of seven of those games, they have kept the ZERO. 0-2 0-2 0-5 1-2 0-1 0-3 0-2 Those Disco Lights fairly improved the results 😁

First reference will be the AGM. Let's wait and see if the board have anything to say on Strategy / Structure / Communication going forward.
-
Of course, but that would surely include due consideration to a big part of it's revenue stream (fans).
-
I think the most relevant feedback is that he has left the building a couple of weeks after the board admitting to significant issues with Communication, from club to fans. It was one of the 3 main things that I highlighted needed doing, a couple of weeks back. However, as you say, a lot is down to remit and how things are stuctured. I mentioned earlier in the thread how I think it is the Robertson/Graham combination that failed, regards communication (and other stuff). Some seem to have wanted the Communications director to act almost as a CEO in some of his output. That wasn't going to happen but we don't really know the dynamics of how things worked. We only know that it didn't work. We also know that the previous incumbent (Jim Traynor) wasn't a success, nor a professional PR/communications when he joined. Between Traynor and Graham that is seven years. Need to get a professional in and put a structure in place that serves us better. The definition of 'us' being important. Club/Owner(s)/Fans/C+F ? In the past Sir Duped brought in Mediahouse, more to protect himself.

You have to go with reality when considering what the reaction will be to X or Y, rather than what you think it should be. Reality was that the Orange Order membership was always going to be flagged. From the word go, it meant that the appointment itself brought unwanted headlines, which were used to undermine/ridicule the Everyone, Anyone Campaign.

Against decent opposition away from home, not really. Although you have to qualify that with recognition of a higher level of opposition last week. We'll find out more tomorrow regards the difference of approach between playing away and playing at Ibrox. They are there for the taking may be a supreme optimists take but I think we can definitely give them a decent game and hope that we take the chances that come our way and they continue to misfire somewhat. Against domestic opposition, yes and a major difference is the now almost habitual early Colak goal.
