I think it'll give us an indication as to where he and his agent have decided to 'tie the horse' and if Ally is 'up for a fight' both in the dressing room and upstairs........... with the provision that the club beat Livingston.
-
Tomorrows press conference should be interesting. What kind of Ally will be answering the questions,............... defiant and pro-active..... or......... defensive and reactive ? What level of pressure will be applied by the media ?..... Will he be asked if he'll resign on Saturday if we don't win ?

Confirmed: Mike Ashley has doubled his stake in Rangers.

Agreed, although I think if he were to attempt such, he would hypothetically and metaphorically 'shot' aswell. If ever someone fitted the role of a 'philistine' it would be our friends from Inverclyde.- 212 replies

Yes, but a little nudge here and there regards timing always helps. What I think is in play is any added and timely pressure/momentum that can be brought to bear regards a hypothetical negotiation between the 'two sides' leading to some kind of settlement, especially given the lack of cash at the club.- 212 replies

The Sun and Irvine tend to be close. I wonder if the prominence and timing of the Micheal Stewart piece in The Sun had anything to do with Irvine. I don't dispute that it was the true opinion of MS, that it was accurate or that after the Hibs result there wasn't good enough reason anyway.- 212 replies

The club website has the BNP (5.23%) and Ashley (3.68%) shareholdings seperate. http://www.rangersinternationalfootballclub.com/share-information Combined they would be 8.89% below the 10% limit (re. ownerhip in 2 clubs). - Who do we think has directed the story towards The Sun ? - Would it have any link with the latest spinning blog from ? - If true, why is it not reflected in the list of shareholders ? Not more misleading and confusing messages, who would have thought it ?- 212 replies

Agreed Although you have to consider it from their point of view and the bulging pockets of many of them, reflect success. We are only the 'corporate vehicle'.
-
I think the next few days press (in some cases c&p spin) will be interesting regards if and where pressure may be exerted in either direction. Media can play an important part in banging the drums or trying to 'calm' fans. Obviously a poor result at Livingston would trump any calls for 'calm'.

IS ALLY McCOIST'S POSITION UNTENABLE? asks the Herald....
buster. replied to SteveC's topic in Rangers Chat
Where do you start with that type of logic ? ....................... For me, it explains in part why it's been so easy to confuse, divide and plunder the Rangers support. -
It can and has. This type of matter tends to go through stages. The first is focus on the team/manager and that is currently where we are. A poor result at the weekend would probably result in a quick jump to the next stage and to what you refer to.
-
The board will organise, 'ride the wave' and try and turn it into a plus (regards their interests). First effect is that it switches immediate attention away from board.
-
No-one says it's simple but the over-riding danger IS the club's survival/competitivity at a reasonable level. ie. to ensure there is a park to play on comes before what is happening on it. The whole omnishambles stems from those above. Had we had a board with the longterm interests of the club in mind, the monies raised in the IPO would in part have gone towards infrastructural spend in the football operation. If Graham Wallace worked for a board who were in it for the club's benefit, then he'd have been able to change the structure and McCoist would almost certainly have been out. The fruit is rotten because of who have been and are in control. Why is it that the club may not have enough money to pay him off ? ps. Don't mistake this for the defence of McCoist, I never thought he'd make it as a manager.
-
Apparently, unless you have a signed affidavit from said individuals they don't exist.
-
Aye, perhaps the clubs survival is the most pressing issue. Frankie, there is No "perhaps" about it. The dogs in the street know that McCoist can't do the job and want change, it isn't an either or. But that change is complicated further by our financial situation which is because of....................aye, the mess upstairs.
-
That is 'Black Knight' of Monty Python territory rather than a Noble French swordsman. That almost surprises me, coming from you.....but tbh, not any more.
-
You are making a fool of yourself now.
-
Do you agree with any ? Do you believe that the behaviour of those in and around the various incarnations of the board weren't the biggest single reason for the sudden drop in ST numbers ? yes or no ?
-
I know the large drop in ST sales has the chronic lack of transparency, trust and evidence of money being creamed from the club as the single biggest reason as to the sudden drop because it's obvious, as night follows day. Of course it isn't the only reason, I make that clear. The standard on the pitch has been fairly consistent during McCoists reign, no sudden drop....it's been generally poor. FWIW, I have never thought McCoist would cut it as a manager (since January 2007 when provisional agreement was fudged) but the sp.ivs of the day (2012) didn't really care because he was worth his weight in penny shares to help get them started and proved useful at certain junctures to keep tugging at the heartstrings of supporters and endorse X, Y or Z. The Omnishambles that is Rangers at all levels has been allowed to develop and fester because of the lack of effective, honest executive management from the sp.ivs. When they did come up with a footballing strategy of sorts, there was no money to fund it with and instead of recognizing the need for transparency and connecting in a meaningful way with the support they continued down the same patronizing, foggy, misleading, dishonest and dogs dinner of a path that has so characterised those in and around the RIFC board throughout. Many of the support had had enough. Engage the brain, it's not black or white (or as you once followed when previously not engaging grey matter, Whyte and Green). It's an Omnishambles, but you must appreciate where the root cause is for the club's plight and where the order of priority must lie. By all means change the manager but we have been managed to the point where there is doubt about whether it is viable to so do and it wouldn't change the direction this club and their assets are being steered.
-
It's a matter of priorities and their order. Until the 'situation upstairs' is resolved satisfactorily, the long term interests/survival of Rangers, including the football operation will remain secondary whoever is in the dug-out.

IS ALLY McCOIST'S POSITION UNTENABLE? asks the Herald....
buster. replied to SteveC's topic in Rangers Chat
Tbh I doubt he'll be looking for another dug-out, he'll be looking for a TV studio. Nor do I think he has to worry about 'putting bread on the table' for the rest of his days. Hypothetically, what it might mean is that he wants to maximise what he is contractually owed so as make the bank balance an even softer comfort blanket. This however may be impossible for RIFC to pay and Ally's agent may need to negotiate considering various issues, including how an insolvency event may effect it and Ally's credibility if certain details (re.renumeration/most probably already mentioned on here) were to be made very public. The writing has been on the wall for Ally for a long time and IMO he should have left at the end of last season. He didn't and with the 'untouchable status' wearing ever thinner could only expect things to get ugly if the football remained the same. He deserves no sympathy, he's used all his 'credit'. -
Just to be clear, the biggest single reason why there is such a large drop in ST take-up is that the support don't trust the people in and around the RIFC board and that is where the root cause of the whole omnishambles lies. Rangers performing badly under McCoist is nothing new and the board have failed to implement any meaningful steps regards new footballing strategies that came from the business review. They point to the lack of money (ST numbers) but the onus is/was on them to change there ways and win the trust of the support, they haven't and continue to patronise the support with spinning bullshit. Further to the Rangers Soap Opera, upstairs it appears as if it might be financially challanging to make any significant changes in the downstairs dug-out. We are no longer a normal football club, we are an OMNISHAMBLES that is run by people we might or might not know for their profit. The football operation is failing because of upstairs, that is what is squeezing the life out of the club.

The 'impotence' line looks like a bit of 'naughtiness' or perhaps English isn't his first language. Perhaps its an 'age thing' and the journalists and editors of today can't spell.

............aged 10 and three quarters. Neil won a competition by his local school and was shipped into fill Lindsay Herron's old role for a day. Rumour has it that the Merlin McMurdo role might now be in young Neils sights given he has a master of cut and paste from e-mails he is sent.
