  1. Can I take the opportunity to remind folk what this thread highlighted.
  2. Should prove interesting for those lucky enough to be able to go.
  3. Ask some questions indeedy ! Isn't that a bit forward after your own refusal I can't comment on what precise return or intention DK might have. What I would say is that the significant difference would be that there is a genuine emotional attachment to the club and that there is a precedent that shows very significant monies being invested into Rangers by him. I would also say that I don't see him as a 'magic solution' and do recognise issues that may or may not come with him, especially how he would look to have the football operation run within a sustainable business model. Many of those who criticise the UoF / those who have chosen not to buy or renew ST's, tend to classify them all as 'Dave King supporters' which is inaccurate. They also try and dismiss or limit the effect that the lack of transparency and therefore trust from those in and around the RIFC board(s) have had on the heavy reduction in ST numbers, this is also inaccurate. What I think is accurate, is that the support want real change from the ongoing sp.iv process which Ashely would continue. With King that would be possible. Much of the support would like fan ownership, that would appear to be off the agenda and parked for the future. FWIW I'd prefer a club with a strong and active element of fan ownership. It may be that Dave King is the only realistic possibility to break the present cycle, I don't know if there are others waiting. However, I fear the 'game' is stacked against him as Ashely has been on the sp.iv inside since 2012 and is being lined up as the next stage. Regards Ashely, there is already much out there that points to why I think as I do (some material posted in the last few hours) and I may look to open a thread on it in the next few days. Be patient.
  4. Can't reconcile it at all
  5. You might also be baffled at 'los tres amigos' signing a contract with Ashely's PR man Keith Bishop back in 2013 (IIRC) and paying them for I don't know what. (an invoice was recently on the CRO site).
  6. I don't think he would set about immediately destroying the club with sword and shield. It's more a case of making money and we've seen the effect of non-emotional 'investors' who want to make money. You could certainly argue that it would develop (or rather continue) into a slow burn destroying of Rangers as a competitive force at any reasonable level. The voting rights that SD enjoy over Rangers Retail in the joint venture, the pound paid for the Stadium Naming Rights and precedent at Newcastle Utd amongst many other things tends to show that MA wouldn't be good for the the longterm health of the club.
  7. Of course, would have thought that obvious. There are other possible reasons but that is the most obvious.
  8. I want no applause but after recent years with similar situations, I do think track records can be relevant when considering all the online noise at a time when we get closer to a probable stage change and heavy spin (messageboards included).
  9. Add it to the pound Ashely paid for the Stadium Naming rights..........double mental
  10. IIRC they have the voting rights (within RR/SD joint venture) to move the financial goalposts when they want.
  11. I have always been one for vigilance (allbeit from a distance) and have from the arrival of both CW and CG&Co tried to warn of the dangers, their general MO and that of others in and around them. I put the "Toxic" beside Jack as I pointed to him as a central figure years ago. I have also developed a nose for sniffing out messageboard agitators or their agents. I've spent far too much time on it really but what currently worries me amongst other things is that Ashely is sold to the support as something along the lines of a 'White Knight' when it's more a Trojan Horse.
  12. Pity, as we may have been able to put it to bed regards the reconciliation. As we appear to be getting closer to a possible 'stage change' in the ongoing process, it is certainly relevant to bring it up again so as to give any new posters a more informed background to what might appear to be 'learned posters' and their 'calls'. You now ask for proof of what you have previously admitted Guess you had to throw something back !! Regards CW, well done............ but I hope you didn't have to wait until Lord Tyre had his say. Fail to see what relevance an RST spokesman has to do with your view, or me.
  13. "Dreaming" would certainly fit better with the BH take on Green&Co back in the day. But then I don't take BH to be a 'dreamer' type. It's so confusing !!
  14. Please help me to reconcile this. Were you viewing facts and ongoing events back then in an objective and analytical way ?
  15. Yes, but you especially might like to learn as I'm sure you wouldn't want to repeat your mistakes regards Green&Co. I repeat this because as you have a background in finance, office bearing and the politics that might go with them, many would expect you to be accurate with your general 'calls'. History tells us that your 'CV' as such didn't help you when making a call on Green&Co and personally I find that difficult to reconcile if you were viewing facts and events in an objective/analytical way.
  16. I think Ashely is thinking more along the lines of what he could do with our millions (net).
  17. Bit like when people were reading too many "conspiracy theories" into Green&Co ? I'd have thought you may have been a little more circumspect with such interpretations given history.
  18. 'Reptition' Have you been eating at Parkheid Hospitality aswell ?
  19. This e-mail was sent to the RIFC Chairman by the Gersnet poster 'govan_derriere' on the 25th of September. GD said he would keep Gersnet informed of any subsequent reply, so I take it he hasn't received one.
  20. If you understand the motivation for the tie in to Newcastle (as per your post above No.75) why do suggest a different starting point ?
  21. I wouldn't expect any groups of people "onboard" with what I wrote after 30 seconds thought. It was more a simple starting point to start thinking outwith our own situation given the "nature of the beast". Thereafter you would need to develop any thoughts and see what merits they might have or where it may lead. The "trust me" was more to do with the general trends I referred to.

  23. I don't need a "study" to realise that this is the case. There is hardly any great leap of faith required to join these particular dots if you observe keenly. If you don't, trust me.
  24. I think you misjudge the current situation and almost patronise a section of the support that I obviously think bigger than you do. It goes without saying that fans would like to see a successful team on the park. However, I think after recent years, there are many more supporters that now appreciate the importance of having a club properly and honestly run from the boardroom. What's your priority......short term success on park...or...transparency and honesty (well run club) upstairs.
  25. I don't think you appreciate the underlying feeling within much of the demographic that may buy footballing merchandise. The language understood comes down to pounds and pence. When you have someone like Ashely/SD, if you want to organise a boycott that might actually hurt him, you have to use your imagination and creativity when looking towards a wider boycott that incorporates more people. Part of the Rangers support won't metaphorically hurt him. There is currently a general mood that could be tapped into using social media, but it would take calculated organisation with the first port of call being the Newcastle support. Nor is there a need to restrict it to 'one particular angle'.
