Rangers board likely to act soon over dwindling finances
buster. replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes,..... if indeed they stay in charge. I think for it to work for the sp.ivs, they'd need Ashely 'on board' / supporting them / propping them up. 1. Auditors sign off 2. A base to optimistic spin going forward 3. Some finance to give fans an early sweetner and change momentum 4. Keep spinning next springtime regards "assault on top tier" and "new players" 5. Take ST money in. If Ashely was in with them, the spi.vs may have to accept reduced margins regards 'money out' but we get into very speculative territory.- 70 replies

Rangers board likely to act soon over dwindling finances

The strategy that came from the Long Business Review stated that it needed between 20M-30M of investment during the next three years and that would have been over and above the ongoing revenue streams. If it was serious regards it's objectives, then you'd have been looking for this investment to be mainly 'frontloaded'. To change business model to a more sustainable version there needs to be money spent on paying off X & Y and on infrastructure. Not forgetting the money required for maintaining the stadium. In short We need piles and piles and piles of dosh to get back on the road to somewhere.- 70 replies

One of the hidden factors is how close Ashely is with the 'Easdale Fronted'. Ashely was courted from summer 2012 and was tieing up one-sided contracts and ventures with Green from the word go. Can Green offer Ashely ongoing value going forward, taking into consideration the politics and fallout ? What would any loan be secured on ?- 70 replies

McCoist has never won any argument with "vocal detractors". He simply carries on regardless and has always tended to patronise supporters by pressing the right buttons at the right time. Not the only person in football to do so. It's unusual to see him say something like the "toys out of the pram" and tbh I welcome it, in that at least he is being up front and honest for a change.

Maybe it's just tabloidspeak but I'd be careful with what I was 'demanding' from Ashely. He's got the wherewithall to blow you out of the water if he wants to. As Richard Wilson says I think Ashely is pivotal. If he isn't willing to step up and put forward a sizable loan then the option to remain solvent points to DK&Co.- 70 replies

Not the wisest thing to say when you state yourself that it's an argument you can never win.

That's a variation on what was said by or for King a couple of days ago regards the Easdale fronted proxy vote. IIRC he said their support was essential, which in part it obviously is.- 70 replies

Yes, but I think it would need to be of the eight figure variety for Deloittes to sign off the going concern and whoever puts up that money is going to get the leverage, one way or another. Changing to a less reputable auditor would be a very negative sign and I doubt something that whoever emerges as 'victor' would want to see. I would welcome clarification from the Financial Bears.- 70 replies

It's Green and those behind him who decide what goes for the 26.15% proxy block. If you're asking Easdale to switch by himself, can't see it.- 70 replies

He certainly seems to have entered into the spirit of the 'rolling' contract.

Yes, although they are for illustration purposes and I won't be running a book. I'd agree that all things considered (as they now stand 'on paper'),...... they should qualify directly for the CL group stage comfortably, ie. 3rd place. We'll see what happens................

Game against Chelsea will be interesting regards how LVG goes about setting his team up. Does he aggressively go for the win and risk a 'doing' on the counter attack or try and keep it tightish and look not to be beaten ? Any scoreline is possible, although some are less likely than others. My odds 0-0...........9/1 2-2...........15/2 3-3............8/1 4-2............18/1 1-4............14/1

In the interests of board harmony, I have reduced my output regards the poking of gratuitous humour at you DB However, there are times when it is very relevant and simply needs to be said. With that in mind there should be no false walls erected to hide behind or indeed for anyone to bang their head off.- 141 replies

So far, it's been as if he's been in charge of a 4th year school team playing in the 2nd year league (x2). Now you have a couple of sides in the league that might be classed as '3rd year outfits'. Put simply, Ally isn't compatible with a viable business model in any direction you care to look. Just as those in and around the RIFC board aren't compatible with the interests of TRFC. Comes back to.........Omnishambles

You completely ignore the points that Forlan made to you and continue in the same vein. After getting it wrong so many times, you really should consider listening to people like Forlan who actually know what they are talking about. DB......FS- 141 replies

When spi.vs dig their claws in, supported by spindoctors that ensure the support remain fundamentally divided, difficult becomes next to impossible (for a clean break). Spi.vs understand the language of money and if there is money on the table they are liable to listen, or in this case are forced to given the current finances. When you look back to 2012 with Ashely and Green secretly signing onerous contracts, it fuels thoughts that Ashely may be the spi.v card (expensive one) to stay in control.

Last time, we were told that the 'last lot' were to blame apart from Brian Stockbridge who kept the company going and that the 'new lot' are collegiate, trustworthy, have a plan and will find investment. Fast forward and we've had more of the same regards shennanigans, lack of transparency, copious spin, money vanishing quickly, despite promises little investment forthcoming, damp squib of a plan, 120 days of due diligence that failed to find the Stockbridge contract options etc, etc. You'd almost think the same folk were at the heart of it.

12 points from 8 games....... (Moyes had 11 from 8)......Remember that LVG doesn't have European midweek games. How many extra millions has LVG spent for that extra point ? Next two League matches Chelsea (H) Manchester City (A)

Whilst he was obviously more sympathetic to the requisitioners proposals, he wasn't really involved.
-
If referring to the letter of requisition (1/8/13) and what led up to the AGM in December of the same year, DK wasn't directly involved with the parties involved.
-
Objectivity isn't their strong suit then ? May have to go in 'under cover' and just have a butchers.
