Had a quick glance at one thread and the hateful venom goes beyond the pale. I'm not one to shrink away from taking someone to task if I think they deserve it but that sickened me to the extent a civil conversation would have been impossible. In amongst the easily led are calculating people who know exactly what they are doing in a sort of 'tailored John James Lite'.

LVG was always a bad appointment and was never going to work. How much money is that spent and can't get out of CL group. IIRC Moyes managed that. edit Just to add I think that the Man Utd board and especially those involved with the recruitment process have to take a look at themselves. They appointed Moyes, a man who it was known would need time and they weren't prepared to to stick with it. They appointed LVG and threw money at what I'd call 'yesterdays man' and said at the start he wouldn't hack it. Need some vision.

Rangers will come to regret letting in Dave King...

Twitter conversation with Barcabhoy who has been busy leading one particular avenue of attack towards King/Rangers. Barcabhoy, David Low, PMGB, John James, Clumpany etc joined at the hip on this. -

Aslong as he works hard at his football and is a good professional with Rangers he can support whoever he wants for all I care.

Transfer Deadline Day: Michael O'Halloran signs until 2020

January is hopefully when we see a couple joining the sqaud and adding value. It's not so much about where they come from but that the scouting has been good and recognized real potential. It's about having a football operation that can find the players and then can improve them whilst fitting them into ongoing plans. -
Keith Jackson - It's all gone strangely quiet on the £5m loan front...

KJ doesn't write "anti-Rangers drivel", at least not all of the time. As a senior tabloid hack in Glasgow he has to occasionally stoke up controversy on both sides. He does so deliberately and for commercial reasons as the fans on both sides nearly always take the bait. Over the piece during the Rangers saga KJ has been as close as any pro-fitbaw hack to what has been going on and has if anything generally been on the side of those who were seeking regime change. This output source helped counter the toxic mediahouse led BS that came from elsewhere. Today he may have been better to write about the onfield game and regards the Rangers saga, waited until he had something more definite to say or at least less speculative. Another pro-hack who has featured little but when he has, he has always had something fairly relevant or important to say is Roddy Forsyth of The Telegraph. -
Weather !! Was the court flooded ? FFS I want this saga over before I take my leave !!

The only part that makes you wonder is........ ------------------------ "No, King won’t have been greatly troubled by this either but he may well be wondering what else Ashley has planned for him and his regime. And that really is worth dwelling on. Since announcing with much gusto that he and his co-directors have clubbed together to pay back an emergency loan of £5million to Sports Direct, it has all gone strangely quiet on that front. As yet the debt remains unsettled. Why is that? What exactly is going on here? It could be that discussions between both camps are ongoing behind the scenes as Ashley will have to hand back all manner of securities over the likes of Murray Park, the Albion carpark and the club’s crests and badges. But the longer this exchange drags out the more bizarre it all becomes, especially given Ashley’s determination to get his money back in the first instance. Is there something else going on here, something strategic? Is Ashley about to call King’s bluff all over again?" ------------------------------ But KJ doesn't have access to MASH strategy and would seem to be taking a half hearted and vague punt, perhaps after a word with some of the better guys. -
Swansea need an instant impact. I think Moyes is the type of manager who needs time to make a difference.

Domestically it was the League decider in 1979, losing 4-2 at Parkhead and playing against 10 men. European wise, neither of my worst two nights resulted in defeats but were when hopes of something special were taken away. 1. 1979 European Cup quarter final second leg: Rangers 1-1 Cologne (agg 1-2) After having put out Juventus and PSV I and probably many others started to hope that this may be our year. 2. 1993 CL group: Marseille 1-1 Rangers On the face of it a decent result but in my heart of hearts I knew we had needed a victory and hence had blown our chances of reaching the Final.

Transfer Deadline Day: Michael O'Halloran signs until 2020

It was only an opinion and I'm far from being an expert. But you don't need to be an expert to know that what a manager will want in an ideal scenario won't be quite what he gets, or at least not all the time. -
If there was a 'Gersnet Poster of the Year Award'.

I have been known to post on FF and always thought that it was like a fast moving City, full of all sorts of positive and negative.... compared to Gersnet that was more like a peaceful village where most know each other and take their time. I tend to focus on the positives of both. -

GS, I don't think Zelalem is a dud but that MW has brought him in to do a specific job of helping retain possession and have the ball flow between players. Because of the way teams are setting up against us I think he is often being forced to play the game 10-15 yards further back than would be ideal, especially in the first half of games when opposition players have more energy. It works to a degree and helps tire out opposition players. Had we signed Scott Allan, we might well have not gone for the Arsenal player on loan. However, we were never getting Allan so other options had to be considered that took into account the way MW wanted us to play. -

I think it's a big ask for teenage loan players to hit the ground running in the first team of a club like Rangers, with such high and immediate demands. By the time some are coming to terms with it, it will be time for them to leave. As time goes by we should have more of our own players that are good enough to push through the system, with the club being able to reap the benefits. -
Podcast with Graham Hunter interviewing Terry Butcher. It's in 2 parts with the Rangers connections dicussed in part two.

Jonny McFarlane sounds like a refreshing and interesting alternative to listen to and regards the style of this WWTC podcast, he helps balance it between reasonably serious and wide-ranging banter. The link for JMcF pod 'The Fitba hacks' http://thefitbahacks.podbean.com/ -

Let's briefly look at the two forwards mentioned yesterday. You have a 20 year old Latvian who was training with us and has scored 39 first team league goals and has already been the top scorer in his country over a season. IF he were to join he'd be our player. Note that he is two years older than Ryan Hardie. You have this speculation on the Chelsea lad TA and whilst it's distant let's consider the broader question. He's 18, scores goals at development level and would be on loan for the rest of the season. There is obviously an issue regards the level of the Latvian league but would the Championship in Scotland be that much better ? Looking at his goal scoring record and his age would suggest he will soon be too good for the Latvian league. My contention and answer to the broader question is that when we have decent options, we'd be better bringing on our own players. To illustrate, IMO if the Latvian is considered a 'goer' then the likes of the TA (Chelsea) deal should be shelved. -
Just listened to the Sportsound podcast from last night. Good to see that Richard Wilson seemed keen to draw a line underneath things and after stating the facts as he saw them, the subject was dropped with no opinionated punditry following it. Get on with the football.

Bring back the ferries. I'm sure we reached a point in history sometime at the beginning of this century where the 'Big Yin in the Sky' decided enough was enough and that it was time to put many aspects of society and life into reverse.
