  1. Rangers 3 Hearts 1 Colak
  2. St.Johnstone 1 Rangers 2 Colak
  3. Go on lads, get it out of your system. #pathetic (especially from a moderator) I'm due a break from here anyway (see you in a few weeks).
  4. Take a leaf out of Gaspard's book. That was interesting and constructive.
  5. No need !! I was slightly optimistic about taking something from last night and was thinking 2-2 but I saw the teams and it was plain that we wouldn't.
  6. I don't know if he is a poor coach or the players have given up listening to him/ can't understand/ aren't capable. Fitness, conditioning and or willing are major issues.
  7. The obvious difference in level of opponent partly explains the difference. However, I take your point and would say that generally the squad probably had more respect for SG, his team seemed fitter and again generally, better drilled. On top of much of the squad being a year older, more likely to be injured and obviously stale. I won't repeat bottom line as apparently you don't like reps
  8. The squad had switched off towards the end of the SG spell. They are older, spend more time injured and have switched off again. Sometimes they get up for a game. Confronted with anything approaching difficult, they go missing.
  9. New details included and more constructive than your reply.
  10. You could listen to me!! In July I said the squad mgmt had been poor and this season wouldn't be pretty. Last night I predicted 1-3. #TrumpetBlower 😉
  11. The team as has played in much of CL this season wouldn't have gotten any where near the EL final last season.
  12. This board are very much about Sustainability and rightly so. The new UEFA regulations as well. Over the last few decades we have become used to throwing money at such problems and the accompanying red numbers in the accounts. I don't think that is an option today. At least in the quantity required*. * Failing a pleasant surprise in the upcoming accounts.
  13. Moving on........ Substantial overhaul required by the end of summer 2023 - Players - Mgmt. & Coaching staff - DoF ?? How do you finance that ? What level of manager/player will be able to bring in? UEFA CL prize money this season....... was LESS than UEFA EL prize money last season. Figures don't include market pool (TV money) Unless we somehow pull a series of rabbits out of the hat we are destined for another difficult period. When Celtic imploded a couple of seasons back, they pulled the rabbits from the hat to take advantage of our return to inconsistent league form. However, they did that with a relatively major outlay. I don't see who the players are who are going to bring in eight figure fees or anywhere near it.
  14. It won't be long and we'll get the real figures. When we do (alongside what is said in AGM), we'll be able to get a better take on what can and can't be done.
  15. Next European package won't be so easy to shift.
  16. I had a degree of optimism coming into tonights game, until I saw the team. We had an extremely weak spine. Central defence looked vulnerable with no real backup. Central midfield had an age profile more akin to a Legends Team and it showed.
  17. One thing is ability, but we have also lost our fitness levels of past campaigns.
  18. UEFA Prize Money 21/22 : 17,998,348 Euros......(EL) 22/23 : 17,914,000 Euros..... (CL) Doesn't include market pool (TV rights / we get 45% of Scotish share) or Match Day Tickets/hospitality https://www.football-coefficient.eu/money/#money-club
  19. Rangers 1 Ajax 3 Colak
  20. That must be a record number of correct FGS Colak is wonderfully predictable
  21. Diddy teams who have a go are setting themselves up for a fall. It used to be that the wee teams had the quality to hurt us but not now (Boyle/Hibs & McKay/Hearts, perhaps) They need us to be off it or/and hope the low block produces something. That said, Livingston have done better than most against the OF, more especially against them. Fingers crossed for Martindale and his team today. 19/10/22 LEC Rangers 1 - 0 Dundee View events 22/10/22 PRE Rangers 1 - 1 Livingston View events 26/10/22 UCL Napoli 3 - 0 Rangers View events 29/10/22 PRE Rangers 4 - 1 Aberdeen 01/11/22 UCL Rangers 20 : 00 Ajax 06/11/22 PRE St. Johnstone 12 : 00 Rangers 09/11/22 PRE Rangers 19 : 45 Hearts 12/11/22 PRE St. Mirren 12 : 30 Rangers
  22. The challenge is to do what they did yesterday on a consistent basis for the rest of the season. One swallow doesn't make a summer
  23. Can't catch a break (Yilmaz injury) but at least we know that the lad is a player. Davies is another decent player but there seems to be a fragility there. With space and team mates moving into it, Tillman can certainly play. All in all, we were hungry and determined and we got what we deserved. Fourth different third placed team we have played and we have put four goals past them all. Wee teams with delusions of grandeur.
  24. Why the welcome difference yesterday ? - Gio - Players - Aberdeen tactics and gobshite manager - combination of above I think Gio got the team right and for a change, the players were up for it and showed character after going behind. As with Hearts at Tynecastle, having more space to play into allowed our creative players do stuff. Breathing space for Gio All out attack against Ajax, given we are struggling for defenders 😃
  25. If you and Gonzo can't understand what I'm saying, it won't make sense. - The club need stability - The squad needs a rebuild - We've mismanaged a squad with too many old and chronically injured players - Squad needs freshness and energy - We really need talented youth coming through, not only for energy but also because it is good for player trading model (margins). Without a functioning PTModel, I don't think we could be sustainable as a business. - Our financial situation is challenging and I don't think we could mutually agree a termination with Gio&Co and overhaul the squad with the level of quality we woud like in one year. - Historically (recent decades*) we generally run at a substantial loss. - Looking ahead, I don't see us being able to turn that around without the support lowering constant expectation levels. I doubt the support will readily lower expectation levels and that will put pressure on board. This has historically* meant the board spend their way out of problem. This board has repeatedly said that the aim is to be a sustainable business. What do they do next ? As far as we are concerned, the accounts are out soon and we will be able to use actual numbers (as at 30/6/22) to see where we are.
