'Same difference'
-
I watched from about the 20th minute to HT then from the 65th minute to the end and during that time Hibs should have put the tie out of sight. They just don't seem able to finish a job. That isn't to say next week is cut and dry. It'll be about us and what we do, ie. if we turn-up and play as we can then we should win.

GARY Withey and David Grier cleared of large scale fraud allegations
buster. replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
We are supposed to focus on welfare junkies and immigrants gorging on our public services and cash #DailyMailetc Don't mention the costs, losses and collatoral damage that comes from creative lawyers, tax advisors, accountants alongside fraudsters and supposedly respectable banks and corporations. There is a general lack of accountability for 'the suits' that is hard-wired into the system. ------------------------------------------- Difficult to comment on the specifics re. Grier and Witney as there is no accompanying detail. If Greir was unaware of what was going-on, I'll eat my bunnet. -
Rangers fans from Greenock cleared of offensive chant charges
buster. replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
Aswell as being badly flawed and discriminatory against football supporters it is now an embarrassing disgrace of legislation that is extremely difficult to police and publicly ridiculed by the judiciary. Not surprising that Spiers was a proponent of it when he acted as a consultent/witness in front of Parliment. -
Will have nothing to do with Ashley's one-sided commercial and retail deals.

Perhaps one season isn't enough to make judgements from but it was certainly noticeable that we didn't seem to suffer from injuries as much as in other seasons. In fact, I'd say it's the best single season I've ever known regards number of missed games. I go on a lot about the footballing infrastructure but injury preventation and treatment are an important part of it, especially when the stated policy is to go with a squad light in number. What we seem to be seeing is co-ordination through-out the footballing operation and a joined up strategy that hopefully allows us to make the most of what we can afford. We still need to be patient and realistic because this IMO is the only type of strategy that will allow us to achieve close to sustainability and be successful. ie. calls for inflated warchests when defeats come our way are reactionary and simply not viable or the way to go.

Glad to see that we'll be developing him as our own player. Much more constructive than a loan. On the face of it this would be McParland directly adding value within the improving footballing infrastructure. Thereafter, it's about the coaching and the individual taking his opportunities. Encouraging signs........

Jim Spence poised to quit Dundee United...
buster. replied to ian1964's topic in General Football Chat
Thompson will struggle to get anywhere close to a good deal when trying to sell his shareholding in the club. He's a lame duck, swimming against the tide and desperately in need of a sale. I'll offer a fiver........ -
McCoist vs Warburton vs Neilson win % stats
buster. replied to calscot's topic in General Football Chat
McCoist was manager at a particular and complicated juncture in our history and unfortunately only compounded what was a general omnishambles both on the field, within the football operation and financially. He will never manage a football club of any standing again because he simply hasn't 'got it'. To argue his case is akin to being a member of the 'Flat Earth Society'. -
Nothing will come easily and yes, you'd imagine that he will have contingencies in mind. However, the facade that was presented about Ashley, his wonderful, extensive and expensive legal front sat in their tanks being 'bullet-proof' has been shot down and every viable & realistic effort should be made to pursue this given the importance of those commercial deals and the 8.92% voting rights.
-
I don't know how long any process might take for the Football League (FL) to review the situation and enforce their regulations but I'm sure everything will be done this end (armed with quotes from Justice Peter Smith) to show the FL why the situation demands urgency. Another angle is the voting rights of the 8.92% at any GM or AGM. Ashley has been under siege from various fronts in the last year or so and he's now generally seen by many as toxic. We need to keep on top of this and make sure the FL aren't allowed to feel comfortable if they are considering the 'long grass'.

Different people see different things, they have different thresholds relative to different circumstances/details that they see/read and perceive/interpret it differently. They have differing areas of expertise/interest and differing amounts of time to dedicate. You'd think most would come to differing conclusions but instead most tend to go where they are 'guided'. The reasons why this is so are at the root of what has been a huge problem. Forget the details and the detailed evidence based case to present to messageboarders for a moment and think of preventing the flow of misleading bullshit / being able to detect it more easily and dismissing it.

Lee Wallace and Barrie McKay named in Scotland squads
buster. replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Aswell as the chance to play for your country there is a financial aspect to it. At this juncture in his career, McKay's agent will push all he can for Barrie to get a Scotland cap and the exposure that would come if playing against Italy or France. -
1. I am not talking particularly or generalising about Gersnet and my personal experience during most of that time was on FF. 2. Everyone can make a mistake, my problem was a general refusal or lack of will to learn from any mistakes (see my 'signature' below) and in many cases a predictable repeat followed. 3. Apart from the available facts, one of the important lessons to learn was about spin, the methods, the conduits, it's delivery, the timing, those involved etc (today, this goes for our society as a whole and not just the clubs troubles). Establishing a consistent toxicity coming from particular people or mediums helps in knowing what to believe and what to wonder why they would try and lie/mislead on a particular issue. 4. Rarely will you find open and shut cases that X will be able to brief a messageboard on. To expect such is unreasonable. It's not just about listening, today everyone can dig if they have some time and the inclination. Don't make excuses...........instead be open and Learn Lessons.

He's obviously not one for simple nonsense. However on 'Rangers politics' (since 2012) I've often known him to be extremely disingenuous and in my opinion, generally untrustworthy.
-
You don't seem to understand or want to understand the point I was putting forward. The basic premise being that you should try to learn from your mistakes and not as many did,.... point to what they perceive as point-scoring and partly attempt to deflect from their own mistakes. One of the reasons many became so 'defensive' was pride........that they had invested much message-board capital, paragraphs and posts in what they perceived to be right that it wasn't felt as a simple mistake but rather an embarrassing passage of time. This for some meant it preferable to maintain a distance and continue deflective noise instead of being prepared to take lessons on board. General polarized message-board culture was seized upon by Toxic Jack and exploited. Like many aspects of the past few years there were many different angles, eg. there were those on the message-boards who were spin conduits and activley encouraged support for the then incumbents of the boardroom or whoever suited the moment.

That sounds only reasonable given what GS has said today. -

Rangers have less time between their last competitive game this season 21st of May and their first of next season (either 14th or 16th of July). If we qualify for Europe it is the 14th, if not it's the League Cup on the 16th. Celtic have their last game this Sunday 15th of May and their first next season on the 12th or 13th of July. ie. Strachan simply sees the Celtic cause as more important. -
He and his agent will be looking for a fatter contract than we can offer. ie. non-starter.

Is this to be refreshments with 'Cup Final Wife Swapping' an option ?

No need to be sorry, the four I listed weren't in any order and I'd agree that what we actually saw from ID put the others in the shade. However where it becomes difficult (edit. impossible), is to quantify 'potential'.

You tend to reap what you sow. 2015/16 The years that saw Mr MASH become TOXIC in business, in court and on the field.
-
How many midfielders have we had that "could have become......" but for X or Y ? Off the top of my head there are four that could have reached great heights in the game. Durrant Ferguson.D Miller. C Ness We've produced some great talent but have seldom got the best out of them. A sustainable and successful football operation means that we have to reverse this where possible. ------------------------------- I'd see Durrant leaving as another step on the way to hopefully improving our footballing infrastructure.

If McKay were to continue improving he'll be an important asset to the next few Scotland managers #McIniesta
