The ultimate gamble ! ...

Is this to be refreshments with 'Cup Final Wife Swapping' an option ?
-
No need to be sorry, the four I listed weren't in any order and I'd agree that what we actually saw from ID put the others in the shade. However where it becomes difficult (edit. impossible), is to quantify 'potential'.

You tend to reap what you sow. 2015/16 The years that saw Mr MASH become TOXIC in business, in court and on the field.

How many midfielders have we had that "could have become......" but for X or Y ? Off the top of my head there are four that could have reached great heights in the game. Durrant Ferguson.D Miller. C Ness We've produced some great talent but have seldom got the best out of them. A sustainable and successful football operation means that we have to reverse this where possible. ------------------------------- I'd see Durrant leaving as another step on the way to hopefully improving our footballing infrastructure.

Lee Wallace and Barrie McKay named in Scotland squads
buster. replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
If McKay were to continue improving he'll be an important asset to the next few Scotland managers #McIniesta -
Was it not 'discovered' in the interim accounts published in April 2011 ? The board, or at least the side of the table that included AJ and PM seemed to think it came from 'left-field' whilst perhaps the other side with Muir and McGill representing the bank and Sir Duped/MIM knew more about it. It came at a time of long and one-sided political tumolt that was about to come to a head.

Modern society has been shaped in such a way that you can fool most of the people most of the time. Creative lying (often with 'plausible' deniabilty get-out) has become a very well paid and accepted artform and in conjunction with the media is often far too powerful for the truth or an accurate representation of X, Y or Z to compete with.

But it isn't about "school-yard stuff", it's about many people who weren't interested to, couldn't or refused to learn from an important misjudgement. Instead they generally gave a "ok, you were right.....do you want a gold star" type of reply. I thought at the time that the important thing to do was to try and educate regards the situation the club found itself in, the further dubious characters on the horizon and how spin was being used with Jack Irvine, the sp1v 'continuity bridge' at the heart of it. In 2012, there were still too many who weren't interested in what some called 'conspiracy theories' and very quickly went back to their comfort blanket of toxic bullshit. Another feature with some was tribal. ie. internal fans group disputes that saw some side with the sp1vs because they 'hated' the alternative so much. This created a different dynamic to those who had made a simple misjudgement. They were at times encouraged and used by Irvine, eg. in an attempt to prevent a perception of unity.

Positive thing about Rossiter if we were to sign him is that he would be our player and we would potentially benefit from any value we added to his game both on the park and eventually, on the balance sheet.....................Whilst the quoted fee (if deal were to happen) isn't prohibitive. On the face of it the biggest concern would be his injury history.

McCoist vs Warburton vs Neilson win % stats

Tabloids are tabloids but 'The Sun' has often taken things to a new (lower) level. Liverpool fans simply don't consume it and there-in lys a lesson for us all. The Sun has been Irvines goto rag for his misleading spin that helped bring us to our knees. If that, together with the fact that it is full of Sh**e isn't enough for us to not consume the newspaper, what is ? The likes of Murdoch, Irvine, Ashley etc are made for each other and I'll be dammed if I'll put a brass farthing in their direction.
-
I wonder how Newcastle Utd fans would find Ashley uncharacteristicly championing transparency for football fans allied to his MO at their club. edit Ps. Ian, I don't think Irvine ever went away.
-
The MASH statement gives an example of why the Ashley camp has maintained direct or indirect funding to spinning bloggers like PMGB and JJ. It also demonstrates the weakness of their own position as they try to push for a public outcry. ie. A Rangers shareholder and commercial profiteer from the Blue pound (Mr MASH) calling on all other fans (mostly Celtic) to join him.

The political class and culture have become toxic and less democratic. Much of this is connected to Thatchers legacy.
-
The Sun with it's usual style was heavily involved peddling the line regards what was later shown to be a cover-up. Generally newspapers will go with what makes commercial sense but they'll also have a very good idea of the veracity or levels of plausible deniability regards what they print. One of the little known but extremely posionous aspects of Thatchers legacy was that she allowed Rupert Murdoch to begin accumulating the undemocratic levels of toxic influence......
-
Thatcher had been an interested party in a cover-up for the actions of the same police force a few years ealier when the same Chief Constable was in charge, ie. events surrounding the 'battle of Orgreave' during the miners strike. Thatcher was no fool and the idea that she was clueless and innocent about what had been going on and in particular the decision to focus blame on the football fans for the worst sporting disaster in UK history is ridiculous. Her spindoctor/press officer Bernard Ingham is on record of adopting the line regards focus of blame and spindoctors DO KNOW what is going on, PERIOD.
-
Of course she knew. Same Police force was involved in the infamous 'Battle of Orgreave' (Miners Strike) and involved in a cover-up which would have been facilitated due to shared interests. Thatcher helped polute our society and send it down a path where we now see her legacy in various toxic forms.

Justice Smith had Ashleys number from day one back in the London courtroom last December. A vexatious, fat and rich bully who uses financial muscle within the legal system without always thinking things through properly and when someone like Justice Smith is prepared to do his homework and call it how it is then Mr MASH and his lawyers are seen to be wearing their 'birthday suits'. Ashley and his horrible empire have been on the ground taking a good metaphorical kicking for a good few months now. To the extent that you'd harbour realistic hopes for there to be lasting damage.
-
Agreed, forget Tory or Labour and think the 'establishment' or 'political class' and those who surround and help shield them. Forget divisiory side arguments and look towards an increasingly corrupt and malignant 'hierarchy' who serve themselves and hire professional liars to interact with the person on the street.

Rangers 2 - 2 Celtic (Rangers win 5-4 after penalties)
buster. replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Regards that particular game, our options up front were limited and our full backs more measured in their attacking. Nor did Celtic attack in a way that left space to get in behind as was thought they might. We switched on and concentrated back to middle with very few errors and our success that day was based on it. The first bad/careless defensive error that I can remember came from Law. -
For us to make chances from possession we need intensity and tempo middle to front. Those tools have been shelved for various reasons and the test is picking them up again for the Cup Final. Other than the St.Johnstone game, we have turned up for all the big games in a positive and effective manner. The League cup tie served as a lesson from which we changed our approach for certain games. However, this being end of season together with the 3 week break brings different problems to solve, including trying to motivate the players who will be out of contract and finishing their loan periods. We won't know how this will go until the Final has started but I'm confident the management team will do everything possible to ensure we complete the season with a performance worthy of a Final.
-
It's all about timing our run for the Cup Final. The League is done, the intensity, the urgency, the tempo are all down and have been since we put Celtic out of the Cup. The 21st of May is when we need to turn-up all guns blazing.

I thought current circumstances prevented a major capital injection (MCI) and the loans from directors/shareholders were what would be needed if and when money was required, until a time when a MCI could happen....but I may have got confused. The lack of a clear timescale regards this is concerning and may mean we have to hasten plans to become sustainable or at least make greatly reduced losses. This would require a relatively low wage bill which in turn means no great transfer spend and an emphasis on getting value for money and having a footballing operation and infrastructure that was solid and performed consistently. What is going to be difficult is to manage fans expectations and be seen to be supporting the management team to a reasonable degree whilst newspapers keep harping on about the '30M'. The club need to be clear about things going into next season. There are a 101 other intertwining issues and it's going to be a difficult juggling act for the forseeable.

If I was part of the club I'd be keen to see a supporters representation (via group/s) that was more unified and less divided than in the past. That previous division had been encouraged and exploited by 'dodgy geezers' in the past. So much so that I could understand the club pushing for this and seeing any contribution in time/costs as an investment for the good of the football club going forwards. It shouldn't mean that a new organisation can't hold the club to account if need be........although can understand the logic behind those who think it might. It'd be down to those involved to make sure independence was retained. Spidery senses were all too absent when they were really needed. This at the end of the day is about supporters deciding what they want, on the basis that they want to be part of the ownership and that they want to see the club do well. If it doesn't do a good job then funding will drop.
