  1. Different people see different things, they have different thresholds relative to different circumstances/details that they see/read and perceive/interpret it differently. They have differing areas of expertise/interest and differing amounts of time to dedicate. You'd think most would come to differing conclusions but instead most tend to go where they are 'guided'. The reasons why this is so are at the root of what has been a huge problem. Forget the details and the detailed evidence based case to present to messageboarders for a moment and think of preventing the flow of misleading bullshit / being able to detect it more easily and dismissing it.
  2. Aswell as the chance to play for your country there is a financial aspect to it. At this juncture in his career, McKay's agent will push all he can for Barrie to get a Scotland cap and the exposure that would come if playing against Italy or France.
  3. 1. I am not talking particularly or generalising about Gersnet and my personal experience during most of that time was on FF. 2. Everyone can make a mistake, my problem was a general refusal or lack of will to learn from any mistakes (see my 'signature' below) and in many cases a predictable repeat followed. 3. Apart from the available facts, one of the important lessons to learn was about spin, the methods, the conduits, it's delivery, the timing, those involved etc (today, this goes for our society as a whole and not just the clubs troubles). Establishing a consistent toxicity coming from particular people or mediums helps in knowing what to believe and what to wonder why they would try and lie/mislead on a particular issue. 4. Rarely will you find open and shut cases that X will be able to brief a messageboard on. To expect such is unreasonable. It's not just about listening, today everyone can dig if they have some time and the inclination. Don't make excuses...........instead be open and Learn Lessons.
  4. He's obviously not one for simple nonsense. However on 'Rangers politics' (since 2012) I've often known him to be extremely disingenuous and in my opinion, generally untrustworthy.
  5. You don't seem to understand or want to understand the point I was putting forward. The basic premise being that you should try to learn from your mistakes and not as many did,.... point to what they perceive as point-scoring and partly attempt to deflect from their own mistakes. One of the reasons many became so 'defensive' was pride........that they had invested much message-board capital, paragraphs and posts in what they perceived to be right that it wasn't felt as a simple mistake but rather an embarrassing passage of time. This for some meant it preferable to maintain a distance and continue deflective noise instead of being prepared to take lessons on board. General polarized message-board culture was seized upon by Toxic Jack and exploited. Like many aspects of the past few years there were many different angles, eg. there were those on the message-boards who were spin conduits and activley encouraged support for the then incumbents of the boardroom or whoever suited the moment.
  6. That sounds only reasonable given what GS has said today.
  7. Rangers have less time between their last competitive game this season 21st of May and their first of next season (either 14th or 16th of July). If we qualify for Europe it is the 14th, if not it's the League Cup on the 16th. Celtic have their last game this Sunday 15th of May and their first next season on the 12th or 13th of July. ie. Strachan simply sees the Celtic cause as more important.
  8. He and his agent will be looking for a fatter contract than we can offer. ie. non-starter.
  9. The ultimate gamble ! ...
  10. Is this to be refreshments with 'Cup Final Wife Swapping' an option ?
  11. No need to be sorry, the four I listed weren't in any order and I'd agree that what we actually saw from ID put the others in the shade. However where it becomes difficult (edit. impossible), is to quantify 'potential'.
  12. You tend to reap what you sow. 2015/16 The years that saw Mr MASH become TOXIC in business, in court and on the field.
  13. How many midfielders have we had that "could have become......" but for X or Y ? Off the top of my head there are four that could have reached great heights in the game. Durrant Ferguson.D Miller. C Ness We've produced some great talent but have seldom got the best out of them. A sustainable and successful football operation means that we have to reverse this where possible. ------------------------------- I'd see Durrant leaving as another step on the way to hopefully improving our footballing infrastructure.
  14. If McKay were to continue improving he'll be an important asset to the next few Scotland managers #McIniesta
  15. Was it not 'discovered' in the interim accounts published in April 2011 ? The board, or at least the side of the table that included AJ and PM seemed to think it came from 'left-field' whilst perhaps the other side with Muir and McGill representing the bank and Sir Duped/MIM knew more about it. It came at a time of long and one-sided political tumolt that was about to come to a head.
  16. Modern society has been shaped in such a way that you can fool most of the people most of the time. Creative lying (often with 'plausible' deniabilty get-out) has become a very well paid and accepted artform and in conjunction with the media is often far too powerful for the truth or an accurate representation of X, Y or Z to compete with.
  17. But it isn't about "school-yard stuff", it's about many people who weren't interested to, couldn't or refused to learn from an important misjudgement. Instead they generally gave a "ok, you were right.....do you want a gold star" type of reply. I thought at the time that the important thing to do was to try and educate regards the situation the club found itself in, the further dubious characters on the horizon and how spin was being used with Jack Irvine, the sp1v 'continuity bridge' at the heart of it. In 2012, there were still too many who weren't interested in what some called 'conspiracy theories' and very quickly went back to their comfort blanket of toxic bullshit. Another feature with some was tribal. ie. internal fans group disputes that saw some side with the sp1vs because they 'hated' the alternative so much. This created a different dynamic to those who had made a simple misjudgement. They were at times encouraged and used by Irvine, eg. in an attempt to prevent a perception of unity.
  18. Positive thing about Rossiter if we were to sign him is that he would be our player and we would potentially benefit from any value we added to his game both on the park and eventually, on the balance sheet.....................Whilst the quoted fee (if deal were to happen) isn't prohibitive. On the face of it the biggest concern would be his injury history.
  19. "Lies, damned lies, and statistics"
  20. Tabloids are tabloids but 'The Sun' has often taken things to a new (lower) level. Liverpool fans simply don't consume it and there-in lys a lesson for us all. The Sun has been Irvines goto rag for his misleading spin that helped bring us to our knees. If that, together with the fact that it is full of Sh**e isn't enough for us to not consume the newspaper, what is ? The likes of Murdoch, Irvine, Ashley etc are made for each other and I'll be dammed if I'll put a brass farthing in their direction.
  21. I wonder how Newcastle Utd fans would find Ashley uncharacteristicly championing transparency for football fans allied to his MO at their club. edit Ps. Ian, I don't think Irvine ever went away.
  22. The MASH statement gives an example of why the Ashley camp has maintained direct or indirect funding to spinning bloggers like PMGB and JJ. It also demonstrates the weakness of their own position as they try to push for a public outcry. ie. A Rangers shareholder and commercial profiteer from the Blue pound (Mr MASH) calling on all other fans (mostly Celtic) to join him.
  23. The political class and culture have become toxic and less democratic. Much of this is connected to Thatchers legacy.
  24. The Sun with it's usual style was heavily involved peddling the line regards what was later shown to be a cover-up. Generally newspapers will go with what makes commercial sense but they'll also have a very good idea of the veracity or levels of plausible deniability regards what they print. One of the little known but extremely posionous aspects of Thatchers legacy was that she allowed Rupert Murdoch to begin accumulating the undemocratic levels of toxic influence......
  25. Thatcher had been an interested party in a cover-up for the actions of the same police force a few years ealier when the same Chief Constable was in charge, ie. events surrounding the 'battle of Orgreave' during the miners strike. Thatcher was no fool and the idea that she was clueless and innocent about what had been going on and in particular the decision to focus blame on the football fans for the worst sporting disaster in UK history is ridiculous. Her spindoctor/press officer Bernard Ingham is on record of adopting the line regards focus of blame and spindoctors DO KNOW what is going on, PERIOD.
