An under scrutiny Ross Wison comes accross as very unconvincing IMO. Whatever way you paint it, squad management has been awful and we are in a place where not only do we see it in our results, managerial fall out and associated expenses but in the brief flirtation with a player trading model that is already stuttering to a relative stand still. Beyond year end June 2023, financial projections without an important net gain on player trading certainly won't get anywhere close to breaking even.

Seems many moons ago. I have hazy recollections of winding him up to the point he couldn't credibly stand for an election for something around that time 🙂

Yes It is somewhat surprising at just how easy it has been for King to more or less takeover C1872. One David became Sir Duped. Mr.King, not long ago a hero has become Dodgy Dave

The Moroccan goalie had it sussed with his counter tactics. Don't go to ground early and move from side to side, thus confusing the dancing penalty taker. The guy who came on in the last minute of extra time, to take the penalty ended up hitting the post twice. Which was a close as Spain got to scoring in over 200 minutes of WC football plus shoot-out. Their penalties were a perfect representation of how they had gone about their business in those 200 minutes previously. No penetration, it was like a guy out on a Friday night looking for his hole, chatting to quality fandan for hours but dropping his bottle and not even asking the question.

If C1872 wanted info on the more recent merchandise fiasco, couldn't they just have asked the man in charge. In charge of both the fiasco and seemingly of C1872.

IMO, we have arrived at an absurd situation which only we could manage to do. After DK hooked at least part of the C1872 executive and inserted his man, (apparently paid by the club) the fan group have effectively become a willing tool of the ex chairman. If that is the case and Chris Graham seemed to have that paid position when King was still on the board, that is the then Rangers chairman basically infiltrating the group to provide a route to offloading shares and until doing so, increased leverage. Is DK capable of such ? ....I'd say look at his history and conclude, without doubt. Are a large group of Rangers supporters so gullible ?...I'd say look at the history and conclude, without doubt. So now we have a supporters shareholding group who do have some valid points and questions but they have little credibility. At least resolution 8 was passed, but the soap opera and problems around these ongoing issues take attention away from where it could be more constructively employed.

What is abundantly clear is that you are a waste of time to engage with.

I said... If Michael Beale and the board are on the very same page regards direction of travel, then it has a better chance of working. The conversations before the contract was signed would have been in part abut trying to make sure both parties understood each other and were in general broad agreement about the way forward. Basic but important. Your positivity is subjective opinion that I don't share. Supporters appreciate being told the truth. They can take on board narratives which might later be used to rationalise hard times. Obviously that doesn't cover everyone. An example being the arrival of Gerrard and 'Stop the 10', which gave him three years.....opposed to Warburton's first attempt at the top flight being widely associated with 55. Real (competent) leadership will result in less irrational complaints. Fine, disagree with what I say but comments like can't take it seriously, fairy story and bizarre just make you look a bit silly, IMO.

Rangers 'sued for £1.6m' over Sydney Super Cup withdrawal

They didn't need to speak with a representative of the fans. There are fans on the board, but they live closer to the harsh reality of our financial situation and will tend to have a different perspective. IMO it is wholly understandable why they thought it an opportunity not to be turned down. Regardless, the boardroom should have been able to judge the room better than they did. IMO they should have spoke individually with fans who they could trust not to leak the info, whom they valued their judgement and who would speak plainly. It might only have been a handful but if they were all saying the same thing, it would have been a red flag. Regards to names, it really depends on their relationships with individuals which I'm not privvy to but one that comes to mind is David Edgar. Close enough to the fanbase, forthright and I reckon with enough integrity to stay stum, if asked to. Possibly, Forlan if he is still closer than most, to the loop. The pursuit of Pounds Sterling has been an obvious priority and might have knocked all the above into the Bollox to That file. However, the pursuit is proving costly down to one bad judgement call after another. From King trying to take on Ashley to this latest feck up. The rational doesn't always apply to football, especially Glasgow. -

The communication should have been BEFORE signing up for it. Not publicly. Perhaps they did and still underestimated it / thought they could get by whatever protest materialised. -

Business to bring in 2 to 3m sterling might end up in costing a 7 figure sum. A case for Communication -
I think that it is needed, rather than expecting it to happen. I don't think we have the required leadership capabilities inside the building. The communication from board/club to the support has mainly been about superficial appeasement. Keep them happy and spending and don't bother with any negative reality. That will always come back to bite you on the erse, as we have recently seen. Alignment is a word they often use. They need to realise that it should, as far as possible, include the support.

The most controversial moment in World Cup history?
buster. replied to Rousseau's topic in General Football Chat
1978 Clive Thomas, the Welsh referee, blew the FT whistle between a Brazil corner being taken and Zico heading it into the net. Would have been the match winner Finished 1-1 Another more recent was the officiating at the Japan/South Korea finals in 2002. More especially, helping the hosts South Korea go deep in the competition. A specific being a Spanish goal being ruled out because of the ball going out of play, it very clearly didn't. -
The direction we have to take will be more down to finance, than to the new manager. If Michael Beale and the board are on the very same page regards direction of travel, then it has a better chance of working. Presuming that to be the case (very hypothetical), if the club can successfully communicate this to the support and have expectation levels at a realistic level (very optimistic), it might mitigate teething problems turning into something worse. There is an AGM in a weeks time, someone has to show some leadership.

It was his fault ! Naw, it was the fitbaw operation ! No, it wis the board ! No, no, no...it was the DoF ! But what about the players ! Maybe it is a developing omnishambles with the main issue, increasingly going to be financial. Trying to be Big with a relatively Small budget.

From how things are at the moment, it would be almost difficult not to get a bounce. The main initial questions are, how long will it last and does it include a New Year win against Celtic and a League Cup ? I think these players will do something very similar to what they did a year ago (without the extended European run obviously).

Rangers players did not "follow instructions" and have "lost a bit of hunger", says Connor Goldson "Not one individual can hold their head high," Goldson told Premier Sports. "The first two goals are from a corner," he said. "People are in the wrong position, which we have worked on yesterday. The second is from a throw-in and people are in the wrong position. "If players don't want to follow instructions, then we can't blame coaches because they give us the information to do our job and players don't want to take that on board. "We can be in there at half-time and say believe in ourselves blah, blah, blah but the game is over at 3-1 down at half-time." "We know that the new manager was there today and you'd hope they [the players] would want to impress but after that performance, we need a change," the English centre-back added. "We need a spark. I feel like - and I don't want to say this - we have lost a bit of hunger. "All of a sudden we are champions and we don't need to work as hard, which is wrong and I feel like that has crept in this season. Hopefully, the new manager can come in and give us a spark." -------------------------------------- The above was said when Beale, the coach (working under Gerrard and McAllister) had just left the building. Now, more or less the same group of players have reached a not dissimilar place and we are appointing the coach of what was in November 2021, a set-up /squad that was on a downhill trajectory. Walter Smith would always say that the most important thing for him (or any Rangers manager) was getting a level of (financial) backing from the club. Then it was up to the football operation to get value out of that net spend. Walter knew how to do that, although the difference now (or problem) is that we can't simply throw money at it and look at the red numbers get bigger year on year. We could perhaps financially frontload a squad rebuild but with the obvous dangers that would come with. There are various decisions coming down the line that could be compared to a betting accumulator. Most will be akin to outside bets of varying lengths. You could look seperately at squad management for this season as a betting accumulator, trying to squeeze value out of too many individual outsiders. The betting slip being ripped up after the second race. Best of luck to Michael Beale, he is going to need it.

A couple of months ago, you announced to those moaning at GvB that the Dutchman would still be manager at the end of next season and to take that observation to the bank. Does this Bank have an exceptionally well kept garden ? Will you be offering a multiple judgement in a year or two years down the line, on various managers ?

I wonder what the net profit or loss on merchandise is since 2015, including the money that has been spent one way or tuther on court cases. We (mostly DK I think) have taken a legacy issue dating from pre 2015 regime change and seemed to make it worse.

Next manager was obviously always going to be a BIG decision and if it is to be Beale, I reckon they have got it wrong. In mitigation, I think the board had limited scope given various circumstances, especially finance. Would imagine there will be a bounce, as happened this time last year with GvB, but this squad will return to their inconsistent ways soon enough. How long does it last and does it include beating Celtic twice, including the League Cup Final ? A year ago he was the first team coach and Gerrard was the manager of this squad who were losing their way. Now we seem to be thinking the coach (without the manager) will be able to turn things around, with more or less the same players who are a year older, have mostly gone backwards, are in and out of the treatment room and have lost their way again. Some clubs might get away with it, but Rangers need a manager who has a lot of qualities that I don't think Beale has. Gerrard was a big name, as a player miles better than anyone he had at Ibrox, respected, a real leader and took on responsibility naturally. I don't think you can get blood out of a stone (this squad), although he will be expected to. I don't think Beale will be able to handle what will come down the line.
