'Pre-season' rustiness very evident. Far too early too start moaning. -
'Daft' and 'Scottish football' often go hand in hand.

Rangers fans' group in crisis as three chiefs quit in row over management

The bottomline intent is the opposite of constructive. -
Good news and it will hopefully help settle squad as the games approach. ---------- The TavWag angle is obviously not a "non-story" and is what will always happen at football clubs. Their agent(s) may have been responsible for getting it into the press last week.

Lessons Learned Last Week 1. Mr Craig should listen to Mrs Craig on football related matters. 2. Prime Minister's now know that they can do what they want and no action will be taken. 3. When predicting football matches you should use your judgement, make your call, then reverse it.

Finally thanks to Rousseau for taking the time to run a good competition.

I was thinking more about being well drilled into the way MW wants to set-up and play. (and I'd imagine he's going to need some kind of break)

If this is the group stage when does the tournamant finish ? It's all very well but he's not going to get much pre-season with us.

I get that C1872 needs to get it's systems in place (there was a post explaining ongoing work earlier in thread) and sort out other pressing issues/hold elections. But I don't buy it that BlueGates is an 'honest broker' at a time when there are efforts being made to discredit individuals and the group' date=' His other posts point at someome who wants to make a point of discrediting people and poke sarcastic/unreasonable demands of C1872. Way back in the depths of this thread I said......... [i']For me there are two different issues here that merge. 1. You have any legitimate questions/concerns for the fans groups, any teething problems for club1872, for some a perception of COI, RF internal matters............. which have to be resolved between members/group. 2. You have a co-ordinated campaign against certain individuals that coincides/compliments what appears to be a co-ordinated move to destabilize the ongoing process regards club1872. 3. Two is riding on the coat-tails of One. [/i] My belief is that Bluegates is quite skillfully doing well to appear in Category 1 when he is part of, or has become part of category 2. That isn't to say that within his questions there aren't some valid points (if he is good then there will be). Let's not pretend, generally there are those who simply don't want C1872 to succeed and will do their best to scupper any progress. Given how politics have been regards fans groups for some years, you'd expect nothing less. But I repeat, the existance of Cat. 2 doesn't mean that Cat. 1 can be forgotten, C1872 would appear to have a lot of work to do, questions to answer and a lot to sort out before elections. But it should be allowed to do so without dishonest campaigns. -

I'll come to the point BlueGates, I simply don't believe that you have no agenda. I'm not a cheerleader for anyone and do recognise that there are issues that C1872 need to sort out but let's be reasonable and give them some time to do that instead of apparently pursuing scandal for the sake of it. -

I think we know the MO and it seems to be running alongside other strands with a similar MO (eg. blog from Rangers supporter that appeared on another forum that made unsubstantiated allegations). Bluegates within 5 posts had attempted to discredit one of those in said blog who were pointed at.... and had made unreasonable (timescale) or sarcastic demands regards minutes from a meeting. Now C1872 have to sort things out but they don't need or deserve 'dishonest' attempts at destabilisation. -
Yes but this came after the pre-season, not half-way through.....and we had everyone available. That said, just had a look and Motherwell will play their 5th friendly v Hibs tomorrow (probably be more or less the team to play us) but have had a couple of shocking results, beaten by Cowdenbeath and Arbroath !!
-
I didn't say we don't want to win the game or that the XI that are selected won't be bothered. It's just the game comes at a time when we will be 'undercooked' and when there are greater priorities. We'll have to wait and see how it pans out. As I understood it, MW places a lot of importance in drilling the tactical organisation into the squad at this time of year and playng 4 in 9 days simply means that you can't do both, the necessary organisation and lay importance on these fixtures.
-
It's not so much because it's the LC, it's about organising what is still a pre-season with an eye to being properly up and running for the Hamilton game. Because of the July dates and that we play 4 games in 9 days, the League Cup becomes preperation rather than competitive fixtures.
-
There will be a few who won't be ready and you'd imagine we'll be undercooked regards match sharpness. Motherwell have played several friendlies, are at home and I'd make them favourites for this one-off match but am more interested in us being ready for the start of the league in terms of fitness, sharpness and organised/drilled.
