It seems that we are financially front loading a squad revamp for the manager and his coaching team. Expectations from those upstairs who made those decisions is that we can win the league, have a decent European campaign and the coaching team are still in place going into next season or are poached (at a price) by another club. We have overhauled the attcking side but friendlies finished, we still have little idea of how things will shape up and neither it would seem, does the manager. We are not in a great place to start the real stuff as the experimentaion will have to continue. Domestically, had Celtic kept their coaching team and squad intact, I wouldn't give us much of a chance regards the title. However, they have changed manager and thus far, have sold one of their main attacking threats, bringing in potential. So basically, it becomes more difficult to predict and will largely depend on both teams recruitment, at the moment, especially us. All things considered, I expect second place but still have some hope for the title, given the above. I expect that we will win one of the domestic cup competitions. If the season goe Pete Tong and Beale is moved on, we will be in an ever more challenging financial place. Europeanwise, I expect a very decent Genk side to put us out of the CL but would look forward to being more competitive in the EL. Losing out on the play off round would cost us major finance but would give us a free midweek prior to the first OF game, which is huge.

We have had the tanks parked on their lawn for over three years with little return. Difficult to implement and run a settled, functional footballing infrastructure when you are consistently second in a two horse race. Good ideas and intentions get lost in the fallout. Add the pressure that comes to bear on top of those responsible in the Glasgow goldfish bowl and constant change is inevitable. Individuals and structural. The obvious problem or danger is a two horse race becomes a one horse race. It happened before (2012) and lasted for about 8 years. They continue to operate within a financially viable model. We don't and appear to be front loading once again. If it works, good (but still no viable structure). If it doesn't work, the future ain't bright at Ibrox.

European football used to be fun and I guess it still is if you are winning. Distorted finances in the game echo society in general. So much of the money flow has gone to the few at the top that lucky clubs below that level line up (in the CL groups) like whores to be fcuked, but well paid. I increasingly struggle to maintain interest. Favourable August headlines are now about earning XXmillion pounds for CL qualification. I preferred it when it was more about the football. An article on why Davie Cooper playing tennis throughout the summer had helped him hit the ground running in the new season.

It's a big ask but not impossible given a favourable draw in Europe and the level of the Scottish Diddy teams (who now can't even get past Irish and Welsh League teams in the qualifying rounds). First OF being at Ibrox is good news. The other side of the city got their recruitment spot-on when their manager arrived but stuttered badly until September. They got away with it because we were poor, they won't be as generous.

We finished last season well (except penalties ELF).... didn't do us much good this season. Truth was we were set-up to fail. At least this time there will be a major freshening up of the squad. Next season is all about recruitment and hitting the preverbial ground running. Recruitment can be very good but it would still be difficult to start well and churn out the wins.

I think nearly everyone at the club knew that the time to start the overhauling of the squad that SG&Co built was directly after 55 (summer 2021) and by the end of following summer transfer window (2022) to have it more or less finished. The main reason it hasn't happened is financial. The consequences are obvious. For all that we trumpeted Ross Wilson and the modern progressive football department they failed, albeit with one arm tied behind their back. Not surprised that Wilson took the opportunity to move. The situation we have in front of us has been wrapped up in a parcel and coming down the line for a while. Some may say we are not that far behind our main rivals, we only lost by a goal etc. Get some decent players in and....etc. Financialy, we are miles behind them and are always looking to try and finance that chronic loss making deficit. It's been like that for decades now.

August saw GVB call the overweight waster out..... .....now May sees MB do the same. Not surprised that there has been limited interest shown in Morelos.
