  1. One could repeatedly, pathetically and indirectly snipe at another poster on Gersnet and all it would do, would be to reflect on a different omnishambles altogether 😂 You sniped repeatedly, when, a year and more ago, I posted on our terrible signing policy of outside bets, lack of good communication, expectation levels, economic woes and general direction. Turns out, I was right. It wasn't difficult to see and those in charge would have seen it up close. But they charged down the same old path regardless. Bennett talks about radically changing direction but he hasn't got it in him to carry it through. Not many have. We will have to go lower before general expectation levels get to a place that allow it to happen. That would come with the real risk of a drop off in support.
  2. No, he doesn't. As far as players go, they tend put in the hard work prior to the signing of a contract extension. The main problem was the club being daft enough to give him such a long extension on a huge salary.
  3. We must be up there for the UK gold award to worst consistent overall management of a football club in the 21st century. Perhaps, Sunderland for the silver medal. Bennett has been successful in his field but is currently out of his depth. It is a gig that is becoming increasingly difficult and it'll take brave leadership to turn the ship around. With regard to reacting to the bad news (3 very slow boats from China), he mentions "...implement, contingency...".....Then he goes on about what he wanted from that moment...... There was no f**king contingency, Mr. Chairman. Own it and explain why not. He goes on about the financial situation as if he is joining the club today. This won't end well unless we change the habits of several decades and the words of John Bennett might as well be previous incumbents talking a good game about implementing the player trading model or various moonbeams. Non leadership pish and wind
  4. He talks about "...leadership, leadership...". He is the chairman of the club and he doesn't possess it.
  5. If the budget has been significantly reduced (likely) and/or was in good part, contingent on outgoings. Then, Bisgrove got out at the right time. Bottom line: Omnishambles Tha board themselves have to enter the real world before they can attempt to take the support with them. At least the manager recognises and talks about the real situation in front of us. In so doing, he has lowered expectation levels to a more realistic place. #undisclosed
  6. New league set-up. Can't do both anymore (other than in qualification).
  7. League: second place CL qualifiers: beaten by Kiev EL: 3rd in group Domestic Cups Mibees aye, mibees naw
  8. Watched the last half hour and it was entertaining with Kilmarnock the better team.
  9. Thanks! Doubt we'll be getting much for him either.
  10. Did we pay anything for Cantwell? If I were from another club, I wouldn't touch him. Flatters to deceive and brings a pathetic level of aggravation. Need to try and sell him to one of those clubs who repeatedly f**k up and never learn, eg. Sunderland or us.

    New kit

I actually like it but then I'm not an old presbyterian duffer 😂
  12. The footballing part of the general Omnishambles continues at pace (the stadium, less so).....!! The atmosphere and general vibe around the players has to be toxic given the amount of players that the club want to move on. To bring youngsters into that type of dressing room is far from ideal. The manager is herding cats at the moment and the short term forecast is for more stormy weather. It has to be said that Clement is now showing a side that is less than convincing but we have to hope he can (& wants) to ride the storm out and starts to regain control and build something, once this transfer window is closed. This would require a successful few weeks of recruitment, on the cheap and our patience, if results go Pete Tong. Last summer and beyond, we have went for outside bets in the transfer market. Trying to squeeze quality out of the 'elderly', out of favour or injury prone. Predictabily, it didn't work. Now the whole shooting match is an outside bet. I would require long odds to be tempted into putting any money on it.
  13. It's obvious. Birmingham do their medicals in Limassol. Fee for Goldson will be useful to cover about 25% of his pay off.
  14. All together now We'll walk a million miles for the first .....
  15. Coincidentally, Kiev played a friendly against Union Berlin last week and were beaten 3-2. Kiev have played 6 friendlies and now have 2 competitive games prior to a potential tie against us.
  16. Not a clue as to the current level of Kiev or Partisan. Nor to what our team will be in two weeks. So, I will just cross my fingers.
  17. For the past few decades, our M.O. for trying to fight fires have been moonbeams floated or signing a well known name, who was probably past it or had dodgy knees. No strategy, just spending money that we often couldn't afford. We either, as a club, announce and support a strategy that Clement will be given time to implement...... or it will be more of the same. It needs leadership, cojones and communication (and patience). We have heard what Clement said. Now Bennett needs to clearly support it and show that, going forward, everyone is on the same page.
  18. I went on about it last summer, outside bets. That is the easy part. Finding the money for the right type of player is much more of a challenge.
  19. Will it be Birmingham on Wednesday for Scott Wright or Sheffield? Last summer it was Turkey. McCausland will get most of the match in Birmingham. But as it stands Clement has Wright in his current starting XI. McCausland needs to play very well on Wednesday and make the most of his chance.
  20. Without Europe, we'd be proper financially fucked and miserable. Since Gerrard arrived, we have performed very well in the Europa League. Dave King said his financial forecast was based on reaching group stage matches 3 out of every 5 seasons. Since Gerrard, we haven't missed a year. The national co-efficient (mainly thanks to us) has helped ensure group stage football. That will soon change and we will revert to playing July qualifiers.
  21. We should still beat Hearts. The most important matches on the horizon are the CL qualifiers. If we were to go out at the first hurdle, there would be another financial hole to fill. As I understand it, it would mean the loss of one European home gate plus the potential financial safeguard of around 5M€ for CL play off losers / chance to get into CL proper. Would be interesting to know what we have budgeted for.
  22. The second main root cause that comes alongside and in the main, thanks to Sir Duped, is our consistent habit of spending more money than we generate. Again, going back decades..... ....but despite plans to change for the better, we can't shake the habit and are still on the same path.
  23. The root of the problem was Sir Duped. Goes back decades.
