  1. That's a new level of 'sad and obsessed yahoo' The Scottish Football Monitor is the bast**d child from the RTC blog and purports to monitor Scottish football, whilst from the times I have seen it, it only ever looks at ONE club. If they were honest, it'd be renamed The Rangers Monitor. What it pretends to be is a voice for Scottish football fans run by Scottish football fans and a force looking to push for positive change. What is it ? A conduit for obsessed fans (sellick 95%, Others 5%) run by celtic-minded fans as a tool to focus on all things 'bad' at Rangers. It attempts to influence others into their way of thinking*. * In 2012, the RTC blog played a major part in trying to gather support amongst Scottish football fans to pressure their clubs into voting against Rangers in votes regards league status.
  2. I was talking about the finances, not Sutton (hadn't heard about story until you mentioned it).
  3. I've said it a thousand times. Until we as a club adopt a joined up strategy throughout the business, have focused leadership and committed, powerful & competent execs running the club on a day to day basis...we'll more than likely continue to react to events/firefight, rather than setting agendas/better controlling narratives. Wrt media, the best 'weapon' we have is not to consume it. To demand statements after clicking on links is a little hypocritical.
  4. Try genuinely reading what I actually wrote.
  5. IMO they are putting an overly negative spin on problems that do exist.
  6. This is opportunism, in that yahoos see a complicated and difficult situation for Rangers/Dave King and are looking to squeeze as much out of it as they can. The blogging angle is about pushing their own name forward, alongside their donations button. The only way to really effectivelly put this type of thing to bed is to sort out our problems.
  7. Better to stay silent unless you have something meaningful to say and that can be backed up. As for strategy, it's a joined-up strategy that has been missing and is a lot to do with providing vacums for yahoos to fill.
  8. Redtops in social media (now includes all press outlets in Scotland) are all about looking for clickbait and anything to do with us will often be the busiest pages on their site. Yahoos will probably bypass stories on their own club and prioritise clicking on the latest Rangers news, with many leaving a trail of predictable comments . They aren't going to stop anytime soon and our board need to be concentrating on taking the club forward, not getting into a shouting match with that lot. Especially when our statements have a tendency of adding fuel to X or Y. ------------- Our finances aren't healthy and there seems to be an impass of sorts wrt leadership and strategy that I had hoped would be sorted around the time of the AGM. This and the TOP/COS problem for Dave King provides a vacum of sorts that is being filled by the celtic-minded. This probably all needs to be sorted before the club can say anything meaningful and informative.

  10. Don't really agree as I don't think we were/are going to play with two out and out strikers up front. Morelos got the nod, scored goals, worked hard and made the position his. Herrera has played a bit part and never really got going. IMO Murty would be better learning from the past and saying nothing of the kind.
  11. Morelos has been a success story and has limited Herrera to insufficient gametime to indicate whether he could do a job or not.
  12. The more you think about the PC appointment and ensuing transfer window, the worse it gets.
  13. Walter Smith said similar but I don't hear the rush to condem him. Back in the day there was a fluid and changing situation where economics mixed with politics and spin. Different people with different interests occupied different roles at different times in what was multi-edged ongoing story that makes War & Peace seem like a prologue. Naismith had his reasons for doing and saying what he did at that point in time. IMO he was a dammed sight more honest than McCoist, who said the right things but laughed all the way to the bank.
  14. Caretaker manager Gary Brazil takes Forest to their best result in the FA Cup for many years ! On his third spell as cartaker manager at Forest. During the second spell, he did well and was given the job for the rest of the season 16/17. However, things soon went t1ts-up and Mark Warburton was appointed.
  15. It was a countdown of sorts untill we reached the winter break PSG 7 PSG 5 Hearts/Astana 4 Bayern 3 Hibs 2 Anderlecht 1 The only team of Invincibles that got beat quite a bit.
  16. As an example, we have to be getting the likes of Thomas from source rather than have to pay a large fee (that we can't currently afford). Admittedly 'source' in this case is a little extreme in terms of geography, New Zeland.... ...but one way or tuther, Australasia is somewhere that we should look to keep an eye on. .
  17. I'd add that the new scouting set-up need to be good at what they do and find players before they make headlines and become relatively more expensive. To add value, it's easier if you haven't already shelled out a transfer fee/paying big wages......and whilst you could rightly say investment (in terms of fees) will be necessary at times, until we are in a better financial position, we need to find players earlier, provide a pathway ....(have a manager that will play them & support that shows more patience at this time / I appreciate the difficulty of both factors). To get back to a level of financial model we were accustomed to, it comes down to regularly qualifying for European group stage football, preferably the CL. To get there, we'd need an relatively overperforming football operation, including an excellent first team manager/coaching set-up.
  18. The celtic-minded do what they do but from our perspective, we need to do the best we can (at all levels) and limit Own Goals that make it easy for the former, starting in the boardroom.
  19. Pete Going by that we have 2 more spaces available. .
  20. I haven't seen much of him and I'm sure you are right. I was only saying he seemed to get on the end of quite a few loose balls in the 6 yard box in that video.
  21. The extent and wide-ranging fall-out from Murray's decision (or heavy gamble) to go down the EBT route has proved to be mind-boggling. There are a thousand and one angles and characters that have emerged. Bottomline - it was an awful decision by the Murray Group to take the risk in the manner and to the extent it did. - HMRC/legislation should be more cut and dry and not provide endless loopholes and grey areas. - high earners should pay the appropriate tax and NI.
  22. Seems to have scored a fair amount of centre-forward like goals.
  23. Much more likely. Anyone know the rule regards number of loans ?
  24. Until we get our finances in better shape, we'd do well to concentrate more on our academy and try to bring through youngsters. The good players get hoovered up at an increasingly younger age and we'll get the relative dregs of that market. If you go for guys like Sean Goss, all the past evidence of this type of deal points to a very poor success-rate. If there is a first team opportunity, better to look to play the likes of Barjonas. The other important part is once we have a player, is to improve him and add value. Over many years, we have failed miserably in this regard and generally reduced value (tbf it is more difficult in the era of Bosman). Lewis Morgan (topical) and Billy Gilmour both illustrate different angles of the costly mistakes and harsh financial reality that make it more difficult.
  25. Whatever 3rd parties may or may not have done wrt communications within this transfer deal, the obvious and not surprising point is that we don't have a cashflow position that will allow for much frontloaded spending this month. It will be difficult to complete deals for transfer targets that other clubs with money (eg. English Championship) want the same player. However, it's good to see Jamie Murphy at Ibrox and we really need him to hit the preverbial ground running. Given his lack of gametime this season, he should be fresh and eager to do so.
