  1. Scottish Hack still pished from Hogmanay ?
  2. For those involved, it's sad and pathetic to the point you almost feel sorry for them.
  3. Let's look on the brightside, they shouldn't have been difficult to deal with regards cutting the loan spell short.
  4. Agreed An effective defence isn't usually about one or two big money signings.
  5. We need both.
  6. Makes sense given the injuries and finances.
  7. Good appointmnent for me, relatively low cost with a potentially significant benefit. I think Jimmy Nicholl adds something that Murty doesn't have wrt man-management.
  8. Is it silly question time ?
  9. Don't know enough about the lad to properly answer that other than to say he is already 22 and the headlines have been ongoing for a while with a mooted fee that would suggest we are too late. Ideally, our scouting dept. should be well ahead of your average messageboard punter but given it's only recently got up and running, probably needs a little time to bed in. The other issue is not letting decent youngsters that you have on the books go. Whilst impossible not to get some wrong, we seem to have been making a habit out of it.
  10. Regardless of where players come from, our budget means we have to get much better value out of the money we spend to have any chance of getting anywhere close to an acceptable level. Over the years, too many players have joined us and went backwards for it to be a coincidence. We need to start consistently improving players and adding value and that should start with the development squad, including a pathway for those good enough. Going out and taking a punt on established names who are winding their career down should be stopped as it costs more than it delivers. We need the new scouting department to spot the decent players before they make headlines and their values increase.
  11. The age old conundrum that we are far too accustomed to applies........ Those who may be in demand are usually those who we'd prefer to stay and those we'd give up our time to drive to X club are those who will be on more money than anyone else in their right mind would be prepared to pay them. The latter group is a sizable one both in numbers and in pounds sterling. How we'll be able to finance pay-offs at a time when even without any leaving, we need bodies in that will improve us, I don't know. Most of the transfer spend of summer 2017 is still owed to the various clubs and I doubt we can keep adding to it without something relative going the other way.
  12. Two that got away and ain't coming back.
  13. Was said by some to have been 50/50 for yesterdays game, so probably a month or so.
  14. Positive thinking is fine but problems may arise in the communication of such within a Scottish football dressing room.
  15. Journalism isn't a term I'd use for the Leckie type of article (see other thread). It's part of an increased level of professional trolling that has increased markedly in Scottish football since Sutton had so much commercial success on the back of it. Tom English is a journalist of sorts that has bought into the celtic-minded blog opinion when it comes to Rangers and after fierce criticsm from Bears, has entrenched himself there, with the occasional offering of unethusiastic criticism towards things celtic due to the supposed need of the BBC to be 'impartial'. ----------- Leckie is just a bitter excuse for a professional. English is a voice you hear a lot more of on BBC Scotland than Richard Wilson.
  16. My late Uncle managed them in the 1970's.
  17. Note to Leckie - Morelos is the Scottish Premiership's top goalscorer - That article was truly pathetic, even relative to the usual dross than comes from the Scottish fitbaw hacks
  18. That remains to be seen but if the importance of his career path/finances outweight any 'homesickness', I doubt very much he'd want a return to Scotland.
  19. Cummings may be possible but McKay is someone any sane manager will want to keep as an option.
  20. Mark Warburton is available again.
  21. Forest tend to go through a couple of managers every year and not surprisingly, don't get anywhere.
  22. A signing that had a significant amount of risk attached and the gamble seems to have been lost. With such cross border signings of young players, one decent return will pay for several that don't return anything. Get the next one right.
  23. McGuane may be young but he might already be due a testemonial given he joined Arsenal when six years of age.
  24. A good, what I'd imagine to be intended as a provisionally short-term appointment,... alongside Murty to the end of the season. Good because I think his strength his savvy man-management , something that I don't think Murty has.
  25. Good application and determination from the team with several excellent individual performances (if Tav wore green and white, he'd be worth 10M). More than worth the point and if it weren't for the reflexes of Gordon, we'd have won it. Morelos needs a rest and the team need some creativity for the games against the smaller teams.
