  1. Hamilton chairman Ronnie MacDonald said: “A member of my board was contacted by a Rangers official on Friday afternoon to state their interest in Greg.“He was passed my number if he wanted to take it further and as yet there has been no contact“I don’t deal in verbals. Unless there is an email waiting for me with an offer which has a figure there is no news. We’ll wait and see what develops but there is obvious interest in Greg.” -------------- 18 days of the window left Reports say Cardiff are also interested If we really want him then best to get the offer in Do we have spare cash to frontload payments ?
  2. I'd wait until you see him do it in a competitive 90 minutes. Which (90 mins) he has never managed to do at first team level and he's 23 years old.
  3. Might as well complain about rain Happy to wait and see what happens although I kind of agree with Frankie, in that if we had wanted him, it'd probably have been done by now. The assumption there is that the club/football operation are fairly clear about what they want and can do.
  4. It wasn't Pep, it was Luis Enrique.
  5. IMO they are connected. The club/football operation have to decide on who they want and they'll consider both Naismith and the others. Now the club or/and football operation may discount Naismith quickly, which would be fine if they had other names and could deliver them. The issue of finance presently available has to be considered when considering the above. ------ I'd welcome a fresh approach after too many expensive auld yins who haven't delivered (sometimes predictably).....but this particular auld yin wouldn't be expensive and IMO is actually more likely to deliver.
  6. I think the apparent assumptions that we'll be able to do deals for the likes of Docherty and others are far from watertight. I'd welcome a new approach for fresher faces but at this point in time, only if we can actually go and get it done. If not, then Naismith IMO becomes a 'no-brainer' (if cost is as reported).
  7. Good point re. loan restrictions. I'd forgotten Dalcio but would think (or rather hope) that we might be able to somehow cancel his loan. I would also hope it isn't costing that much in relative terms.
  8. Therein lys the key. If we can finance moves for better alternatives (at least age profile etc) then fine. Go the progressive, think of the future, longer-term route . If we end up not being able to get deals over the line because of cashflow issues, then Naismith is a no-brainer, or would have been because he'll probably be somewhere else.
  9. Brilliant !! I think quality humour/satire is very often the best way to get back at them.
  10. I think Naismith is the type of player that would do very well if he signed for Hearts. If it is true that there would be little or no outlay for what would be a 6 month loan, then I really can't understand why we wouldn't be very interested. We've taken so many gambles with our signing policy over the past couple of years,...why would we refuse what would seem to amount to a 'free spin'.
  11. Did Santa bring you a sackful of gifs for Xmas ?
  12. Good Luck to the lad, we could do with him kicking on...........
  13. A case where the journalist, Jack Haugh's best outcome is to be called an idiot. Ironic that the first line in his article includes "suffered humiliation". Of course the other possible scenario is that he's deliberately twisted the facts. The lad may go on to do well because Boris 'clownboy' Johnson was sacked as a journalist for making up quotes and that seems to have been helpful in his subsequent career.
  14. Mibbes he will, mibbes he won't but the fact that he has a Mexican League title to his name gives Cruz Azul every reason to hope he can do a job.
  15. Size and strength is important in most players but if they want to be successful at a reasonable level, they'll need to develop their technical game. Successful smaller players at a decent level tend to be strong as well. Big, small good or indifferent,.......It's really a matter of working as hard as you can on the areas in which you may lack. A professional and determined attitude to this can carry you far. The triumvirate of Messi, Xavi and Iniesta was a once in a generation combination.
  16. Dodoo would seem to be quite away from the first team picture, currently around 4,200 miles.
  17. Can just see Larkin in his 4th hand T72 Russian tank painted in green and grey hoops stopped at the traffic lights in the centre of Coatbridge. He's noting down descriptions of the three primary school boys pointing at his vehicle and shouting f**king *anker .......but allows his creative bent to scribble eighteen Rangers fans with swords and pistols chasing him down the street.
  18. The late George Barnett, a Rangers fan who died last month is also on the poster.
  19. The 66 and the ..ee.. looks to be some kind of sick 'designer spelling'. The type of person who engages in this type of act is ultimately very sad and to be almost pitied.
  20. Can't understand why you'd be prepared to miss...... for this..............
  21. I was starting to think that Frankie had introduced AI with the new set-up. The Moderators being swapped for robots
  22. It's just not happening with Rossiter. How long is his contract for ?
  23. You can see and understand why we kept playing him but it doesn't make it the right thing to have done. I get paranoid when it comes to our better young players and injury because of what has happened in the past. These things can obviously happen but you should do all you can to prevent them.
  24. Can't help but think of a Viz type character in a weekly comic strip. Terry Tank Commander (with sellick tap) battles against his imagination .
  25. “Those are two historical ones that have had, not relapses, but we are taking our time with because we want to make sure that we don’t push them too hard and we give them longer-term problems." -------------- Sounds as if we have already pushed McCrorie too hard after he first suffered the injury. He's the type of guy who will just keep going until he's well and truly f**ked so we need to carefully look after the young man, both for the player and the club's best interests.
