  1. According to soccerway stats, he has scored two league goals but such a "streak" would be a strange choice of word given not only the amount, but about 6 weeks and 5 games seperated the the two goals. https://uk.soccerway.com/players/liam-henderson/265494/ I'd contrast that with the DR's regular updates (and slant) on Carlos Pena.
  2. Football wise, we should be further down the road than we are. The board managed to find/provide finance but we've had some awful transfer windows and managerial 'issues'. From May 2016 up until the backend of 2017, it was close to omnishambolic at times and we'll still be paying for it further down the line. A good managerial appointment and functional football operation are desperately required.
  3. Given the position he would probably be playing, I reckon he's probably more chance of getting on the end of something than say Morelos, who'll be working their centre-halves. Although an argument could be made to say Morelos has got himself into decent scoring positions against them more than anyone this season.....but hasn't scored, whilst Miller does have a decent goals tally against them.
  4. The discussion over Kenny Millers future Is becoming an annual event. Let's hope he gives us more food for thought on Sunday. All considered, he's probably our most likely source of a goal.
  5. It seems as though too many pundits feel the need to further controversy. It's a sort of 'cheap tabloid punditry' that pretends to cater to demand and look after their own (self) employmed position. -------------------- One of the reasons it's done is to wind us up and have us react, ie. clickbait. As for BBC Scotland, I think they are too far gone down a particular road to reasonably hope for any kind of balanced coverage. Generally, the influence Celtic have and enjoy via many of those who are employed by the national broadcaster is understated in it's importance and I don't think we have put ourselves in the best of positions to 'fight it'.
  6. Rodgers can't shut-up these days. Perhaps he doesn't want the focus on his teams turgid display at Hamilton.
  7. Good day Three points, four goals, clean sheet and we regain second spot. But you can't help but feel that we are struggling because we don't know who should be playing and what our best shape should be to accomodate them. It's partly down to some players having gone off the boil, others coming back from injury trying to get up to speed and injuries. We have lost trust in Goss and he surely can't start next week. Docherty tried to do too much yesterday and either ran into trouble or made passing errors. Dorrans isn't quite at it yet. Halliday hasn't played much but did well for 30 minutes, albeit we were ahead in the game when he came on. Holt is a reasonable option. Windass is injured. Miller hasn't played much but is there and importantly put a chance away at 0-0. McCrorie is an excellent option but may play at the back. Funnily enough, Holt, Halliday and Miller played in our semi-final triumph over Celtic a couple of years ago. Of the almost certain starters next week, Foderingham and Tav are the two who started that game in 2016. In the 0-0 at Parkhead (New Year) we started with McCrorie, Kranjcar and Holt. In the other 1-1 last springtime it was Holt, Hyndman and Miller. Murty will have a lot of thinking to do in the coming days because it appears a bit up in the air.
  8. I doubt there would be any managerial news, even semi-official. prior to the semi-final. After it, perhaps.
  9. In the admittedly limited time I have seen Kipre play, he's too often a bombscare and not a reliable defender. Bates, has his limitations but certainly no more than Kipre.
  10. Let's hope he has a bit of the 'Ian Ferguson' in him.
  11. I think he had been playing through an injury. To a degree, it reflected how important a player he had become for us but it's probably cost net gametime.
  12. It was always going to be either Thompson or Madden. Thompson will get the OF league game after the split.
  13. No, we've been burnt far too many times these past couple of seasons hoping that players who used to be good would come good again.
  14. It's as if both directly and indirectly, our club has been used over the past decade or so by all and sundry as a testing ground for all kinds of social, financial, fiscal, questionable business practises, mediatic, spinning (etc.) 'experiments' wrt how far you can actually go and very few have anything to do with football. With some I'd say how far beyond the line you can sail without getting 'caught', rather than how close to it. Dundee have just started to get their act together and they'll come to Ibrox surprisingly confident of picking up a point or three. We'll just have to see how we react after three games without a win. Do we turn yet another corner and provide some hope that we can finish the season strongly or do we continue the way of recent performances, possibly fall further down the table and have everyone dreading the remaining games ? In someways going to a 'bad place' prior to the semi-final MIGHT actually work in our favour given I think we struggle with expectation but I'd much rather have the three points given the league table. Let's hope that Dorrans and McCrorie can show themselves to be ready for 'battle' but I'd be careful with the latter as we've already pushed his young body further than we should have at the end of last year. The very least we need to see is effort, workrate and trying to play the game at a high tempo.
  15. Thanks for the reply SS ! I don't think it's a matter of being for or against the board. It's more a case of making a judgement on what they have done and how likely it is that they can start to make bettter decisions and of coure, have the means available to be able to do so. I thought the apparent strategy behind the MW appointment was fine and in the short term, brought a rapid improvement and a successful season. However, prior to the end of that season, both football management and the Chairman carelessly scattered the seeds of inevitable failure. What came thereafter, set us on another inevitable road to another costly failure. I take from that, that we didn't learn many lessons, repeated certain mistakes and have a habit of making things as difficult as possible for ourselves on various fronts. Having finance available would be a huge positive but it doesn't mean success unless it is spent and invested wisely.
  16. A very sad day but the man lived the dream and had a terrific career that was based on real footballing ability.
  17. Particular voices, tones or accents are something you get used to. They soon tend to fade into the background as the 'judgement' centres more on what is actually said. Personally, I think your input will become a sensible base for other podcasters to bounce off.
  18. That was a very decent podcast considering it was the first. Thought Frankie had a voice for doing 'Late Call' aka Rikki Fulton, but brought a lot of plain common sense points (just as he posts IMO) Colin was an excellent 'anchor' and Ross was a fairly high pitched source of intelligent comment
  19. I'd hardly call that a strong base for optimism. Our transfer business in the past couple of years has been very poor and the January window just gone, whilst being better was mainly about players who will be going back to their parent clubs in the summer. If you are implying that our directors have only just realised that 'you get what you pay for' opposed to actually allocating what scarce resources were available very badly, then what level of gumption is in the boardroom ? In other words, they know fine well that 'you get what you pay for' but finances and managerial/player choice have been problems. The main base issue for me is who the manager will be. If it were to be a 'Head Coach' working under Mark Allen, then we'd better get ready to use a larger wall for the manager portraits because Ibrox under current pressures is not a place that young coaches will be allowed to thrive.
  20. If I had confidence that we will appoint a decent manager then I'd be more optimistic,...but I'm not sure that we will. It won't be easy to attract a decent standard of experienced manager who is 'in-demand' given that anyone who does any due diligence would see that expectations are much greater than financial support will be and the ensuing levels of presure when things don't go well can get heavy, very quickly. Given finances, I think we need to grow a nucleas of younger players and develop a real team, starting with guys like McCrorie, Docherty and hope others like Middletion come through. Then spend whats left of our budget on experienced (but generally not over 28) relative quality ....but many of the support won't be interested in showing any patience.
  21. Very much so but levels of demand for any large shareholders who wanted to leave at a time when as much new money was being encouraged may make it more difficult to be particular. That said, I'm only thinking and wildly speculating out loud down to what Forlan is saying.
  22. I'm wondering if this reported potential investment by Sir Duped would go to the club or to another individual to purchase shares ? .
  23. Very first pic.............I'm liking the steely glare from Mr.Murty !
