  1. In the admittedly limited time I have seen Kipre play, he's too often a bombscare and not a reliable defender. Bates, has his limitations but certainly no more than Kipre.
  2. Let's hope he has a bit of the 'Ian Ferguson' in him.
  3. I think he had been playing through an injury. To a degree, it reflected how important a player he had become for us but it's probably cost net gametime.
  4. It was always going to be either Thompson or Madden. Thompson will get the OF league game after the split.
  5. No, we've been burnt far too many times these past couple of seasons hoping that players who used to be good would come good again.
  6. It's as if both directly and indirectly, our club has been used over the past decade or so by all and sundry as a testing ground for all kinds of social, financial, fiscal, questionable business practises, mediatic, spinning (etc.) 'experiments' wrt how far you can actually go and very few have anything to do with football. With some I'd say how far beyond the line you can sail without getting 'caught', rather than how close to it. Dundee have just started to get their act together and they'll come to Ibrox surprisingly confident of picking up a point or three. We'll just have to see how we react after three games without a win. Do we turn yet another corner and provide some hope that we can finish the season strongly or do we continue the way of recent performances, possibly fall further down the table and have everyone dreading the remaining games ? In someways going to a 'bad place' prior to the semi-final MIGHT actually work in our favour given I think we struggle with expectation but I'd much rather have the three points given the league table. Let's hope that Dorrans and McCrorie can show themselves to be ready for 'battle' but I'd be careful with the latter as we've already pushed his young body further than we should have at the end of last year. The very least we need to see is effort, workrate and trying to play the game at a high tempo.
  7. Thanks for the reply SS ! I don't think it's a matter of being for or against the board. It's more a case of making a judgement on what they have done and how likely it is that they can start to make bettter decisions and of coure, have the means available to be able to do so. I thought the apparent strategy behind the MW appointment was fine and in the short term, brought a rapid improvement and a successful season. However, prior to the end of that season, both football management and the Chairman carelessly scattered the seeds of inevitable failure. What came thereafter, set us on another inevitable road to another costly failure. I take from that, that we didn't learn many lessons, repeated certain mistakes and have a habit of making things as difficult as possible for ourselves on various fronts. Having finance available would be a huge positive but it doesn't mean success unless it is spent and invested wisely.
  8. A very sad day but the man lived the dream and had a terrific career that was based on real footballing ability.
  9. Particular voices, tones or accents are something you get used to. They soon tend to fade into the background as the 'judgement' centres more on what is actually said. Personally, I think your input will become a sensible base for other podcasters to bounce off.
  10. That was a very decent podcast considering it was the first. Thought Frankie had a voice for doing 'Late Call' aka Rikki Fulton, but brought a lot of plain common sense points (just as he posts IMO) Colin was an excellent 'anchor' and Ross was a fairly high pitched source of intelligent comment
  11. I'd hardly call that a strong base for optimism. Our transfer business in the past couple of years has been very poor and the January window just gone, whilst being better was mainly about players who will be going back to their parent clubs in the summer. If you are implying that our directors have only just realised that 'you get what you pay for' opposed to actually allocating what scarce resources were available very badly, then what level of gumption is in the boardroom ? In other words, they know fine well that 'you get what you pay for' but finances and managerial/player choice have been problems. The main base issue for me is who the manager will be. If it were to be a 'Head Coach' working under Mark Allen, then we'd better get ready to use a larger wall for the manager portraits because Ibrox under current pressures is not a place that young coaches will be allowed to thrive.
  12. If I had confidence that we will appoint a decent manager then I'd be more optimistic,...but I'm not sure that we will. It won't be easy to attract a decent standard of experienced manager who is 'in-demand' given that anyone who does any due diligence would see that expectations are much greater than financial support will be and the ensuing levels of presure when things don't go well can get heavy, very quickly. Given finances, I think we need to grow a nucleas of younger players and develop a real team, starting with guys like McCrorie, Docherty and hope others like Middletion come through. Then spend whats left of our budget on experienced (but generally not over 28) relative quality ....but many of the support won't be interested in showing any patience.
  13. Very much so but levels of demand for any large shareholders who wanted to leave at a time when as much new money was being encouraged may make it more difficult to be particular. That said, I'm only thinking and wildly speculating out loud down to what Forlan is saying.
  14. I'm wondering if this reported potential investment by Sir Duped would go to the club or to another individual to purchase shares ? .
  15. Very first pic.............I'm liking the steely glare from Mr.Murty !
  16. Early summer ! You can often get away with a mediocre defensive line in domestic football but it's often a 'killer' come European competition. Given the balance of our squad, I think McCrorie is a good shout.
  17. We haven't yet got a central defensive partnership that gives you confidence. In fact, neither defence is that good when put under pressure and IMO, it'll be about trying to dominate the midfield to limit exposure.
  18. It was the scale of use that was of high risk. A lot of people gamble and put a coupon on, some bet someone elses house on it (some banks, Sir Duped, etc.).
  19. Previously it was the "head" that Sir Duped lacked when considering level of exposure/risk regards fiscal decisions. Whatever a supporter may engage, it's essential that those in charge use the head. Between various things, we've made a habit of repeating too many mistakes, this is one to pass on.
  20. Elements of BBC Scotland have been shown to be blatantly anti-Rangers in one way or tuther, others have more shown their disdain and dismissal of the club since 'the situation' arose but I tend to agree that this isn't much in the way to kick up a fuss about.....or we will be tagged with the obsessiive label. That said, it's more for simply logging onto the list and if the same person was to do something similar, then we might be able to say he is just another of a particular crowd.
  21. The name Bryn Palmer is at the top of live text and a brief look at twitter feed tells us he's more a rugby man. Why he would have 'Scott Sinclair' in his mind, rather than look it up, I don't know. https://twitter.com/BBCBrynPalmer?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author
  22. it'd be more the 'resolution 12' crowd that would be re-invigorated wrt outraged EBT's/title stripping pitchforks !
  23. Banks aren't going to supply the cash and I doubt even Sir Duped will be able to talk major players into giving him money to put into a Scottish football club where they won't get a return.......so that would seem to force him to have to use his own money. What is the liklehood of that ? What would he get for HIS money and how much does he want it ? Sir Duped is 66 years of age and was able to semi-navigate stormy waters, throwing others over the side and reach a favourable 'end-deal'. Does he feel guilt ? Was he stung and does he feel the need to win a very public battle and consign negative headlines to the bottom of the barrel ? Is he simply up to some mischievious spin to rock other individuals boats further and/or see what the reaction is ? Is he thinking about limelight and legacies ? Does he think now would be good timing given probable price and some of the 'hard yards' already having been walked ? How would he get on with Club1872 ? We know what he's like and we know what he has done to us. I wouldn't want him anywhere near the club. A bit loose but It'd be like a woman who was battered and nearly killed by her husband getting a call from the same man nearly a decade later, asking to get back together.
  24. I'm sure she wouldn't mind. Pic's are surfacing...........
