Listening to the sportsound podcast from yesterday and apart from the general negativity (MacIntryre, McLaughlin, Commons) on a potential Gerrard appointment (tbf Ian McCall did strike a more balanced view)....further into the programme there is an interview with Malky MacKay about youth football, when Kenny MacIntryre comes up with this beauty.......... ..."SG has been heavily linked with the Rangers job, we're told he's interested, talks are at an advanced stage...Yet, we keep hearing that he will ...be able to bring young players from England, from Liverpool up to Rangers. Thats got to be a concern....." .

The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals
buster. replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Aslong as this doesn't become a case of reuniting all the old players that SG played with/knows. IMO we need a core of players in the 22-28years old bracket, two or three more experienced and a handful of 18-21s. edit Safe prediction: This thread is going to be crazy this year. . -

Re. Thomas Isherwood You have to wonder why other clubs passed on him. I think you need legs and energy in a team these days but central defence is probably the one position I'd prefer experience. The real issue for the club/football operation is we need to start improving more players but how many years have we been saying the same. Until we do, promising youngsters will still tend to make it somewhere else, once they've left Ibrox. -
Daily Star had it right a week ago This video on the BBC confirmed it for me at 1 min 05 seconds https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/43981612

Lennon and Rodgers both very publicly sounding off about something that is none of their business in an effort to discourage managerial candidates. If Lennon was really that concerned, he could have called Graeme Murty without the need to tell the world about it. -------------- Can't recall so much being made of a managerial sacking wrt the 'pity angle'. It's usually the 'this is a brutal results driven business' line and move on.

Good to see StevieG is using the Ferry Inn. I hear it's an excellent establishment.

It's obviously the old double landing bluff to throw the press pack off the scent. He's actually arriving at Waverly railway station in Edinburgh on the sleeper tomorrow morning and will be met by John Greigs girlfriend. When you've read this post, burn it so no-one else knows.

There is a huge margin to reduce it

I've said it best to forget celtic for 12 months so I am going to have to make a point of practising what I preach from here on in.
-
I think both us and them have a large margin for improvement on this league season. We need to be thinking about building a hungry, competitive squad with legs and energy and forgetting about them for 12 months.

We need more players with their careers in front of them instead of too many experienced 30+ years old players. If we want to be an energetic side with 'legs', we can't keep buying relative oldtimers. We need a core that has a couple of real leaders, especially central defence and central midfield. -
We have 65 points with three games to go,............. last season we finished with 67 points. I don't think there will be much in the way of improvement on our side after those 3 games. What has happened is that Celtic have went backwards in terms of points/ consistency of result, I think the most league wins IAR for them this season is THREE (we are 4 (x2) , Kilmarnock had a 6). The feature for us has tended to be that when we do receive a set-back we don't get back off the canvas quickly. Our fragility shows, our confidence goes and we lose more points right away. Celtic on the other hand, nearly always bounce back with a win. What I'm saying is although the points difference (us v them) isn't as vast this season, we still have huge margin for improvement but after a relatively poor league season, so do they.

They should include free soap with ST's. It would save them writing to ST holders about their unpleasent smell. Celtic write to fans reminding them to WASH after complaints about smelly supporters ruining games https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/celtic-write-fans-reminding-wash-6451792

I don't know if Scottish football is ahead of the curve but it is certainly keeping up with it, at least in the way that supposed 'journalism' is used and abused to spin slants on the story of the day. Editorials or say, Jacksons opinion piece on a Monday are there to be used to offer opinion but what we have generally and Scottish football is well-up on this particular curve, is a 'news service' that tends to 'loaded'. Jackson is more 'spin-doctor' for hire than a journalist (currency tends to be information).

Some of our first team look like they might struggle aswell.

After well over an hour parked on the bahooky, a brisk walk for a kilometre or two might be quicker and certainly good for blood circulation. Just ask Santa for decent waterproofs

We've been through most of the speculation in the last 20 hours or so,...might aswell wait and find out what the facts are, or at least what follows.

The fact that he doesn't know or can't say would suggest PM isn't say a 'Kenny Miller type'. The 'courageous journalism' quote that gets used against PM is often done so, alongside a lack of considered appreciation or a lack of memory for what happened back in the day. Bottomline, until we know more of what is currently going-on, we are all firing blanks.

It isn't a surprise that Jackson jumps on yesterdays resignations in time honoured fashion but he doesn't offer any real details as to the whys and what for. I don't think it a stretch to suggest that Paul Murray and Jackson were in frequent contact with each other during the spivs time at Ibrox. The DR/Jackson took what was really a commercial decision to go with the good guys side of the argument given that it had access to some of the details that were going on. Yes, the DR was on our side during most of that time and Jackson tends to stay loyal to those who provide him with information he can use and in this case, win awards with. At the sametime Jackson has gone heavily anti-Dave King and you can't say that action is without reason. Is the weight and constant barrage fair and reasonable, no, I don't think it is. It comes accross as a campaign that continues regardless of events. So, is the PM (and Barry Scott?) resignation something that reflects opposition to what Dave King is looking to push through ? Mibbes aw, mibbes naw. Personally, I think we have to be careful with Dave King and his methods. Not dismiss them or automatically shout at them, just be careful and vigilant. You'd hope that there are still those on the board that would be and that Club 1872 won't simply get caught up in any headlines about Gerrard.
-
Don't know anything about it but from what I read it appeared as if it were saying the club. If that is true, then it wouldn't surprise me if some might like to take advantage and sow the seeds of 'confusion'.

Lewis Hamilton wouldn't be a NED. If you are looking for a numbers man who has his hands, at least partly on the steering wheel and possibly with a navigator beside him, then it's Stewart Robertson who would be more relevant.

Takeover Panel granted court order against Dave King

I don't know enough about this to be able to say anything with any authority whatsoever but my uneducated understanding was along the same lines. How close to the wind DK is sailing, I'm not sure but it is DK, not Rangers.
