What Rodgers or McInnes says doesn't really matter, we should simply be concentrating on ourselves. Words are cheap, The Sun is full of Jim White,.............the more they bump their gums the better. ----------------- I'd prefer we don't hear much from Steven Gerrard when it comes to what he wants to do but instead see it happening on the pitch.

Did Walter Smith underachieve at Ibrox first time around?
buster. replied to 917's topic in Rangers Chat
Yes, I think he did underachieve. I guess it depends on your priorities but I've always put doing well in European football at the top of my wishlist. Whilst I can understand the practicalities and importance of winning domestic leagues, I think you come to a point where you have to look to kick-on and we never did. It seemed as although we signed players seemingly looking to step up levels, we nearly always came up short. Over the decades (not just Walter Smith's time) I've found that we've very rarely been as good as we could have been and the levels of professionalism at a big club regards preperation aren't as good as they could have been. On average it's been about one decent European season every decade,....not good enough IMO. -
If it's an official broadcast and not a pirate then there won't be any problems aslong as your connection speed is ok. Even pirate games are usually fine.

O'Hallaron is taking the Michael and has been with a number of (in)actions over a period of time. He no longer deserves the benefit of the doubt IMO. -

What we have to look for is a couple of real quality players from Liverpool. I say Liverpool because it's the place where they'll hopefully be more more disposed to lend that real quality. -

Various actions over a period of time (and any input from his agent) would suggest it's very little to do with stupidity and much more to do with an ongoing and now longterm lack of interest in contributing something to the club in return for his wage. -

Does anyone know the rule about loans and the limit as to how many you can get from one club in a different association (ie. Liverpool) ? -

Apparently there were scouts from other clubs there to watch him in the game you mention that he didn't turn up for. Another issue was his sending off against Motherwell in January 2017. His lunge at McHugh after only 5 minutes seemed to be asking the referee to send him off. It was the last time he started a game for Rangers. -
Newcastle had already played the 4 v 4 several times in the competition and IMO it showed in the way they won the drop ball and in their patience in build-up / prioritising not giving ball away,...with possession.

Something 'strange' happened in the hours leading up to KO At mid-day United were narrow bookies favourites to lift the Cup and were priced at around 17/20 to do so. They had been since the semi-finals. But in the hours just before KO there was a 180 degree switch. Chelsea became narrow favourites and United went out to around 21/20. That would suggest a lot of money went on Chelsea very late in the day.

Lads were unlucky in the Final. We had more of the play but couldn't get a goal. In the 4 v 4 sudden-death extra-time perhaps Barjonas should have disputed the drop ball instead of Burt. The Newcastle lad seemed to want it that little bit more and once they got possession, we didn't get another kick.

Watched half an hour and had to turn it off. Man Utd were awful. There is something not right at that club and they'd do well to get rid of Mourhino, who is on the downslope. Their board have made some awful decisions when it comes to appointing managers since Sir Alex left and the worst thing is you could see each mistake as it happened.

The lad Wilson would be an excellent piece of business. A huge advantage wrt reducing risk is the fact that Gerrard will already know him very well and you'd imagine will have the absolute attention and respect from the young player. -

For about 99% of us, it doesn't. However, the media are always more interested in what the 1% have to say and this is what makes the headlines. -

His agent is aware of how social media works and he knows how the very public double whammy you speak about wrt newspaper headlines and messageboard threads would make a difficult situation, impossible. They might be trying to force the club to pay up a good part of his contract . -

Looking down the messageboard it definitely appears as if the phrase 'working his ticket' comes to mind. If the agent accepts tickets in the Celtic end and ok'd a public visit to a Catholic school in the same week as the season ends.....you aren't working for a client you see staying at Rangers. What they'll want though is most of his contract paid up. -

Agent now making excuses. He'd be more constructively employed looking for a new club for his client. O'Hallaron has never settled at Ibrox and it's fairly obvious now, he never will. Just Go........ -

Sounds like a plan -
Thistle could continue playing until a week on Tuesday and I' pretty sure they wouldn't score. I watched parts of the Thistle v Ross County game a couple of weeks back and you could see both the sides were Colin Nish and deserved to go down.

That's Livingston promoted and Thistle down ! If you want a lesson on how to defend with dogged determination and absolute commitment, you'd do well to take a look at Livingston this afternoon.

Whats the source ? Is that the only/best pic ? Who decided the pic was definitely him ? Is it definitely yesterday ? . -
Given the amount of homotalk between the two, that phrase sounds like it had a lasting effect on you

The initial re-build in the 70's had a capacity of 44,000 which has since become just over 50,000. It's a funny old world. Back in the 70's, when I was able to attend Ibrox regularly we were winning trebles and mostly playing in front of 20 odd thousand people. In recent times, the support regularly fill a 50,000 stadium to watch unsuccessful and inconsistent fare. The difficult question (apart from finance) is regards trends or crystal ball gazing,..........what will be happening 5, 10, 20 years down the line and what would be the best way to go regards stadium plans ?
