Take a break from listening to Diane Abbott for a bit and you'll find the time Wrt the podcast, good work lads and lass. Pete seems to be on a bid to 'out jolly' the Reverend ! Christine sounds a lot younger than someone able to be SG's Mum ! Seriously, I thought Christine did very well on her first pod and like last week, the flow throughout the show was good. As for time, IMO just about spot-on. Very difficult to cram a week that saw SG pitch up at Ibrox to less than 47 minutes. I do think the bossman was missed because he brings a sensible sounding board for others to counter, eg. IIRC last weeks show seemed to be more of varied opinions...(although this obviously depends on the subject matter and can't be judged on a one-off).

We need our strong characters on the pitch, not as backseat managers. -

Morelos looks done for this season and combinations with Cummings don't work. We'd almost be better with Herrera and Cummings up front in a more conventional 'big man wee man' combination surprise. Thing is, if Morelos got a real close season break followed by real hard and effective pre-season taken by the Scouse Jock Wallace.... we might already have a forward who would 'rip it up' next season. -

Timing might have something to do with getting the last game of the season out of the way before taking next step. If things don't go well on the field, just as post semi-final, it'll draw attention away from the football. . -
I think we could do with sending potential new investors some 'Tactical Nuclear Penguin' before opening talks and their cheque books. Seriously, it's not surprising that there isn't a queue of people wanting to throw their money at the club. It would have to be an emotional 'investment' and if they haven't surfaced in the last 6 years, they are hardly likely to start now.

I see he's currently on a yellow card spurt with 5 in his last six games (which sum 397 minutes on the park). A booking every 79 minutes. A red card up in Aberdeen is probably as likely as a goal.

We won't be catching them next season. Next season is about improving what we have and building something that can catch them prior to them getting 10IAR. Some may moan that we should be all about going after them next season but IMO if we keep doing that trying to get shortcuts, we'll never get there. In other words, our best chance to stop the 10 is to take stock and 'build something'.

Not much point in commenting on warchest size until we see a fuller picture further down the line. It's about spending what we have wisely and getting a lot more out of the assets currently employed.

Is that Wee Harry who works at the 32 Red call centre ?

Yes, some aren't good enough but it's this team that has metaphorically died in recent OF matches but some of the individuals within can do a lot better within a better structure with more quality, confidence and a hungry motivation. First up in June would be to maximise fitness.
-
Our new manager (from June1st) comes from a club and a support who have done the one thing that constitutes a real fightback against the tabloid you mention.
-
Bottomline is that we need a management team that can improve players and that starts with many of those who are already there.
-
The Mail might want to reflect on their own choice of clickbait at such a delicate time for the Ferguson family. Tabloids and their faux concern/indignation.

I thought the new Dutch saying about the footballing past was 'Will we ever see their likes again' and the eternal Scottish answer, 'Naw'.

Tav John McCrorie Docherty Jack Murphy Rossiter Windass Morelos Candeias Then there are some of the youngsters like Middleton, Barjonas, etc.

Who in our team could get a lot fitter and have the scope/age to improve a great deal on what they've shown this season ?

Prior to Murty getting removed from the dug-out, I couldn't see anything but an Aberdeen win. Now that the change has been made in the dug-out and Jimmy Nicholl apparently gets to grips with the fact that Ross McCrorie can play in the midfield, then a possibility of taking something from the game comes into focus. If Bates can solidfy the defence and McCrorie can do likewise in the midfield and give it better balance, then we certainly can take something but will we ? The problem for me is that this team died a death in the last three OF matches and we have a bunch of individuals left who won't be able to win a battle if the opposition are in our faces and want it. So, will Aberdeen be fully up for it and confident ? Recent form says they probably will be but history says don't be so sure. In the 74 SPL/Premiership matches between the teams, they've only won 9 of them. Of the two games left, I think this one is the more probable of a positive result but I'll be surprised if it happens. -
Players should be signed for what they do now and improve on, not what they did in the past.

Hope your health improves Compo ! Warnock is the last of a kind and whatever anyone says about him, that is some record.

We'll all be ITK after tomorrows press conference. Until then, I'm out of this thread !

League is nearly done and the Big Six teams have a total positive Goal difference of 244 and counting. The fourteen other clubs ALL have a negative GD.
