O'Halloran pictured amongst Celtic fans at Hampden

IMO the time to have got Allan was the second season we were in the Championship but instead Hibs bought him and thus he entered into a dynamic where if he did well, he wasn't going to be allowed to go to Ibrox aslong as he had a contract with Hibs. He's now tied into a contract that means the one place you can be assured he won't be coming is Ibrox. -
Regardless, the numbers involved are obscene.

It isn't the same, in that our Chairman has personally and publicly made a specific allegation against an individual(s) and specific request for action of the SFA.

Selfishly, I've always thought the easiest thing to do would be to have no away supporters at either ground for various and obvious reasons. Although I get the various and obvious counter arguments. -

Possible Sighting of New Hummel Orange Strip

1. Generally, politics are part of the football scene in Glasgow and both big clubs identify with different flags and the ensuing politics. 2. It simply ties in with the very polarised enviroment, the mutual hate and industrial rhetoric. 3. The Independence Referendum in 2014 (allied to our problems) brought a whole new dimension to the polarisation and enabled the other side of the fence to recruit 'haters' of us. 4. As a club we've been weak (at various levels & for various reasons) and have been on the backfoot, 'taking it on the chin' for years. 5. A counter-offensive is long overdue but like everything it should be carefully thought through and be part of a strategy that has a future rather than simply reactionary. -
The Summer 2018 Transfer Window Rumours and Deals
buster. replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
This guy was close but no resale value went against him......... A worldy but no confirmation of any interest as I type........ Definite resale value here......... -
By the sounds of it the publication it appeared in took it off their site and they or other interested party had google remove it aswell prior to the SFA appointment of Hughes. The issues are that Hughes is supposed to be 'independent' and that there were possibly SFA personel with knowledge or complicent in the removal of the article. The fact such efforts were involved in the articles removal from the web shows that there was a perception of it being a black mark on such an 'independent' appointment in the first place by the candidate/SFA. Effectively, they(Hughes/SFA personel) have already passed self-judgement on Hughes/SFA personel, several years ago.

Generally, if we pander to their every whim we'll just continue on a slippery slope. I'd ridicule those who want to use it as a stick to beat Rangers with. It's a colour and IF it happens to be incorporated into a strip design then so be it. -

It would be a downgrade on Waghorn/Garner type striker with no resale value. I wouldn't worry too much, we'll have hundreds of players linked with us but only sign a handful or so. -

Would that be your version of an alternative stalker who is having a conversation with someone and then you jump on the thread but cry "stalker" ..........#confused If Diane Abbott did that you'd start a thread on it -------------- Everyone to their own, I don't get the big deal, it's a colour. If it was designed with a purple sash on top of an orange background then I might see something in your point. -
Possible Sighting of New Hummel Orange Strip
buster. replied to TheUKCrazyhorse's topic in Rangers Chat
Does it ? I don't get the big deal either way, all kinds of designs and colours have been used for away strips. Something bright and luminous would be a change and I think commercially successful. Bottomline is if you don't like it, you don't need to buy it. I don't get the alienation angle. -

Generally, away tops tend to have little to do with football. -
Interesting and confirms a long overdue counter-offensive.

After graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone, College of Art in 1991, Ana founded i-design, a digital UX design consultancy aimed at servicing the emerging digital creative industry, from a spare bedroom. The business grew over the next decade into a global innovator in self-service consumer engagement software for FIs, achieving multiple industry firsts and awards. In 2004, she launched a second business atmAd, an aggregated digital media channel enabling advertising brands to reach consumers with targeted offers across ATM retail and high street locations. As CEO, she led the AIM listing of the company on the London Stock Exchange in 2007 and was voted Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year by the Entrepreneurial Exchange. Over the next five years the company expanded into Europe and North America and in 2013, Ana sold the company to NASDAQ listed Cardtronics, the world's largest ATM services provider, joining their executive leadership team before leaving the organisation last year. Ana recently joined the Board of the Scottish FA as an independent non-executive director, becoming the first female board member in the organisation's 144 year history. Outside of her business interests Ana is a keen sports fan and next month will be taking on a 650km hike across three countries incorporating the West Highland Way, Le Puy in France and the Northern Camino in Spain. https://www.entrepreneurialscotland.com/purpose/people/ana-stewart --------------- twitter account if anyone wants to trawl.....https://twitter.com/AnaCStewart

I don't think SR is the man for such 'conflict' and from the outside looking-in, it's seemed obvious for a longtime that the club had a need for a hardnosed and competent CEO.

From SFA site https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/gary-hughes-appointed-to-board-of-directors/ Tuesday 28 April 2015 The Scottish FA is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Hughes as the second non-executive appointment to the Board of Directors. Gary, 53, is Operating Executive with Apax Partners LLP, an independent global investment management company. He also holds non-executive directorships with J Sainsbury plc, a FTSE50 public company, Premier Farnell and Smart Technologies inc, is deputy chairman of The People’s Operator and is a senior independent chair of SECC Limited. In his earlier career, Gary also served as Group Finance Director for Scottish Media Group from 1996-2000. The appointment of a second independent non-executive director to the Board achieves another governance recommendation from the McLeish Review of Scottish Football. The position will replace the second vice-president role, which will cease at the next General Meeting on 9th June. Stewart Regan, Scottish FA Chief Executive: “I am delighted to welcome Gary to the Scottish FA’s Board of Directors. Even among a host of impressive candidates, the breadth and depth of his experience with some of the leading companies in Scotland, the UK and internationally made him stand out. “Alongside Barrie Jackson, our first non-executive director, Gary will offer an invaluable business perspective to Scottish football in addition to his passion for football and sport.” Gary Hughes: “I am both pleased and proud to be joining the Board of the Scottish Football Association as an Independent Non-Executive Director. Whilst football in Scotland does have its challenges, it also has significant opportunity and I look forward to working with the Board, the management team and all the major stakeholders to help create a successful and a sustainable future for our national game.”

Perhaps the gloves are coming off and a shot is being fired accross the bow. Makes you wonder if the SFA have anything that might stick regards the upcoming hearing in the summer. Anything that undermines what is basically a group that Lawwell has a degree of control over, is a positive although we could do with him getting his jotters. I look back at the 2016 Cup Final aftermath and can't help but feel we missed an opportunity to go after Petrie and make it very difficult for him to become SFA vice-president.

Apparently their creative department had been studying the viability of having Jeremy Corbyn carrying a hammer and sickle, getting chased down the left wing by George Smiley.....but it didn't signed off because it appeared as if JC had actually passed the old circus operator.

Not many clubs have had two of the goalscorers in that clip play for them. Can you name a Scottish club that does have a goalscorer and a prominent player celebrating a goal ? ---------------- edit think my question is based on a mistaken assumption (ie. that Gazza scored the goal he was celebrating)

I just hope the WC provides us with some entertaining football. HT is to stretch legs, put the kettle on, go to the fridge, take the dug oot and not to listen to the ramblings of the usual suspects about something you already know. I think back to previous WC's and think of games, not coverage although the one thing that has stuck in my mind was a tune from the BBC coverage of Italia '90..............

I got up this morning hoping that this thread may have been sent to somewhere that the player in question might have been given a ticket for. I'm sure that O'Hallaron would have went to Coventry given that he doesn't seem to bother checking any details on tickets -

Three most important phrases in that article ....probably won't be........ ........he may stay at............ ......might focus on........... Quotes supplied are in short supply and are limited to one word...."willing" so context isn't apparent unless you believe the source that can't quote a full sentence. Translated it means..........We don't know but will write this anyway to try and maximise clicks because we know football fans have an insatiable desire to read about transfer speculation.
