  1. If we're going to have to pay a significant part of Alves wages to get him out the door, surely there comes a point where you'd actually be better off keeping him and sqeezing some value from a player with an undoubted pedigree.
  2. Any word on what part of Andalucia we are having the training camp/match(es) yet ?
  3. Probably better keeping it as simple as possible. It was just to clarify, thanks !
  4. So unlike the Euros, no changes (to other matches) after first fixture KO's ?
  5. Makes sense, we need the cashflow. It also makes the Hummel 'partnership' look a more considered piece of busines although without the numbers, we don't know how good.
  6. Fitbaw journalism is on a level with Primary Six Creative Writing.
  7. I'm hoping my joker makes me look like a fitbaw prediction joker. It'd be worth it, to see the media fall-out.
  8. The pattern tends to be that a decent job becomes available and Brenda rules himself out without ever being seriously considered. It's the club wanting to project it's name into stories about bigger clubs (eg. Arsenal) as it continues to try and hang around as a sort of CL groupie wanting to get into the new building (eg. future euro league), frequently get f**ked senseless but be paid for it. For Brenda, he's happy to go along with it because of his ego and keeping his profile in the news and 'associated' with bigger clubs. Media go along with it because it's easy work, commercial and keeps Peter happy. Something along similar lines happens with players being linked for XXM. ie. A mainly organised disemination of info to link Celtic players with bigger clubs than is realistic for more money than is realistic.
  9. Looks good RTB but FFS cut yir nails...........
  10. Incredibly pedantic I know but he was subed at HT once against RUDEŠ on the 10th of May and was suspended for two games after being sent off on the 19th of April. Still, 34 starts from 36 with no apparent injury is a nice change for a signing.
  11. You'd imagine it's central defence we have in mind for Katic unless it's a 1-8-1 we're going to play instead of the 2-7-1.
  12. Katic comes at an age where as a centre-half he has time to mature into a top player, do a job for us, earn us a profit and go further in the game............ That's the theory. As a club/football operation we have to start improving more players. Part of the scouting process should have been about how they deal with pressure. We simply can't afford another relatively expensive re-build to go Pete Tong, like last summer.
  13. The Spanish Federation are well miffed that this should be announced several days before the national team begin their biggest month for 4 years. Apparently some of the high heid yins were considering asking him to leave immediately and have Fernando Hierro come in as an interim manager for the Russian World Cup. However, tempers and nerves have been calmed and it looks like Lopetegui will continue for the tournament.
  14. Russia 2 - 1 Saudi Arabia (Group A) Egypt 1 - 2 Uruguay (Group A) Morocco 0 - 0 Iran (Group B) Portugal 2 - 0 Spain (Group B) France 2 - 0 Australia (Group C) Peru 1 - 1 Denmark (Group C) Argentina 2 - 1 Iceland (Group D) Croatia 2 - 1 Nigeria (Group D) Costa Rica 0 - 1 Serbia (Group E) Brazil 2 - 1 Switzerland (Group E) Germany 2 - 1 Mexico (Group F) Sweden 1 - 0 South Korea (Group F) Belgium 3 - 0 Panama (Group G) Tunisia 0 - 2 England (Group G)...joker Colombia 1 - 1 Japan (Group H) Poland 2 - 0 Senegal (Group H)
  15. Good to have a Croat back in the squad, they tend to adapt and do fairly well.
  16. Perhaps we've went for or been offered Ryan Kent,.... given the prospective Wilson loan seems to be off.
  17. Yes, it's vital IMO that we get as much of the squad sorted out as possible for pre-season together.
  18. I reckon the Compliance Officer position would be better if it came with a fixed term of say 2 or 3 years.
  19. deleted given the joke doesn't work without the post that came before it before threads were merged.
  20. Looking at the article that Bluedell posted it says he'll leave in late summer, which would suggest he'll still be in post when the hearing on the 26th of this month is heard. How that hearing will be set-up in terms of panel and/or senior legal figure, I've yet to hear.
  21. The kitchen is going to get hot....................
  22. Getting a decent contract elsewhere whilst his ticket is relatively warm.
  23. I saw McGlennan/resigns...... and for half a second thought/hoped it was MacLennan at the SPFL. The obvious thought is that he wants to leave the building before the two charges against Rangers are heard on the 26th of this month.
  24. Behind a paywall but the jist of it is..............Tony McGlennan (compliance officer) resigns from SFA post https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/tony-mcglennan-resigns-from-sfa-post-mclk8d6vl ----------------------------- No idea of the backstory but given recent events, you have to wonder..................
