  1. It is time we as fans and the boardroom for that matter, get real. Why would our fans expect the club to be well run after decades of it not being so? Hope, rather than expect. Monopoly money is required after you have spent all you have earned and serviced the debts.
  2. It would take time to turn the club around into a sustainable business. It will be DIFFICULT. Relatively heavy loss making is in with the bricks. Along with the strategic acumen of a badly run bowling club. Look at the boardroom Look at the accounts Look at the football department Look at the playing squad #omnishambles Expect pain, hope that it isn't acute or long term.
  3. We have been badly run for decades. We paid a price for that in 2012 but we didn't learn the lessons, despite saying we would. Not as a club or a support. We are paying a price for the latest decade of mismanagement. At last, John Bennett told us how it really is and what is needed. We seemed to reluctantly accept this but after a couple of months, it has been largely forgotten. The accounts seem to be dismissed and many fans want a new manager and new, better players in using monopoly money. Get real.
  4. Well put. Fans need to understand this and temper expectations, short to medium term. Will they ? I doubt it and the general direction of travel will be towards no-where. Fans can shout all they want about expectations but they need to listen to what John Bennett said in the summer and read the accounts.
  5. I don't disagree that we have been generally poor this season, but it isn't a surprise. We were highly likely to struggle this season. What has been a surprise is Aberdeen, but we'll see what the table looks like after 2 rounds of games (22). Despite this, we are in a cup final and are doing ok in Europe. We aren't going to finish better than 2nd in the league. With the injuries to the wingers and the lack of cover at centre forward, we were never going to break high scoring records. For me, it is upstairs that deserves the pressure. Gilligan hasn't supported the manager as he said he would.
  6. We obviously aren't great. Hearts neither, but they have started to improve of late. That said, you can't ignore the fact that both teams were coming of the back of Thursday night European football.
  7. Steven Thompson (son of Eddie) is bankrupt and looking for a job. For a change, we'd be in a good negotiating position.
  8. Excellent week - qualified for another National Cup Final - away EL point in Greece - 3 points in the league Not bad for a downsized and half baked rebuild
  9. Poor game. Almost as if both teams were playing big games in Europe on Thursday.
  10. At least we actually scored.
  11. Assist for Tav Goal Dessers 🤣
  12. Forget the so-called "narrative". We don't create enough chances and don't have enough goal threat throughout the team. Across the city, they score far more goals but have many different players who score them. League goals (10 games) Rangers: 15 Celtic: 29 Aberdeen: 24 (11 games) The outlier was the 6 goals against Ross County. We push the Dessers 'narrative' in our own message boards.
  13. Best two players this season are both Scottish. Makes you think.
  14. "Should be beating teams like Kilmarnock......." because we have more resources. It has always been thus Kilmarnock and teams like that have always beaten Rangers (and Celtic) of occasion. It has always been thus. Relative mediocrity is what continual flux and short term measures has brought us. We deserve what we have become. It is down to our own strategic errors and incompetence. To have a chance of significantly improving things we need to get on an even financial keel and have competent executive management. It means at the very least, short to medium term pain. Throwing the toys out of the pram because provincial sides beat us a few times won't help.
  15. Thursday night performance and result. Well done to the players and the manager. Another national cup final and a draw in Greece. Give the project /rebuild /downsize some breathing space. If someone deserves pressure it is those upstairs.
  16. Clement will have to start giving Hagi more minutes. Injuries to others is the only way Hagi is going to play. Obviously not in Europe given he isn't in the squad.
  17. Denmark: 7 wins in 8 matches, 87.5% Belgium: 9 wins in 12, 75% Portugal: 45.83%...(24 matches) Netherlands: 34.48%...(29) Germany (inc.West): 31.48% ...(54) France: 25%...(28) Italy: 24%...(25) Spain: 21.43%...(28) England 18.75%...(16)
  18. Of all the 41 countries we have played more than 2 games against in UEFA European competition. Our worst win percentage is against the Greeks, 12.5%. 1 win in 8 matches. 2-0,at home to PAOK. Plus 4 draws and 3 defeats. It was the Swedes at 0%, until we beat Malmö in September. They are now second worst at 14.3% (1 win in 7). England are 3rd, at 18.75%
  19. He was wrong to do so and showed a lack of defensive awareness.
  20. We've spent years moaning about Tav's lack of defensive awareness. Jefte showed an acute lack of defensive awareness in that moment. He's young, he can improve it, if he is well coached.
  21. Don't know, but I don't see what rationale would be used to stop a trade between willing owners/parties in ordinary circumstances. Why do you ask?
  22. We now have a chance to put it right. About six weeks to sort ourselves out, become a functional team and instill some belief in ourselves.
  23. Could be timing his run very well, if City get what they are due, in terms of punishment for the 115 charges. I reckon he'll do relatively well.
  24. Since our conversation on this, I listened to the Clement presser that was released on Saturday. He basically says as much and is having a go at the lack of support from upstairs, in terms of communication of the ongoing financial impediments. Gilligan isn't doing what he said he would, only 6 or 7 weeks ago.
  25. Clement's third consecutive national cup final.
