The way the Germans have been playing and their manager managing it's no real surprise........only I guess it is simply because it is zee Germans. As I said a while back in this thread, Low came into the WC not knowing his best starting XI and without a reliable goal threat. The team hasn't looked fluid or attacked with real menace. Argentina manage to sqeeze through then. Iceland didn't have the cutting edge and tbh didn't deserve to go through. Nigeria missed their chance and in that second half, it was there in front of them. I'm going on very little wrt Sadiq so won't argue with you on this.

Apart from the cliffhanger aspect to it I think the African v South American duel generally tends to throw up less tacticl shit and more going for the game. I remember a Nigeria v Argentina WC game from the 90's that was immense entertainment with Fernando Redondo dominanting the midfield.

Maybe I'm missing something but Sadiq and Lafferty are fairly similar and neither is ideal for 75% of the type of games we'll get in the domestic game.

That game was never likely to provide excitement. Should get better entertainment tonight.
