  1. I think you touch on the main issue. ie. generally, we too often bring out the worst or not so good side of players rather than their best. You can put it down partly to the pressure of playing at a big club, but only partly.
  2. IIRC Stevie (on Gernet pod) said he was sold for 200K and no sell-on clause. For many years now we must have been known as a soft touch when it came to transfer dealings. Not always for the same reasons.
  3. Neither the 'leaking' or the 'counter-leaking' helps the issue at hand.
  4. We'd all obviously like and hope for European group stage football and all that it brings but getting it is another thing. However, you'd have to say that the 3rd round qualifier draw on Monday has provided a chink of light. Now it's up to the first team players and management to take advantage of it, on the pitch.
  5. IMO our club is far from being anywhere near stable and we show few signs of getting anywhere close. Instead we are run in a reactionary way that ensures ongoing firefighting that costs money, energy and to a degree, reputation. We have to hope that the gamble on Gerrard&Co works at first team level and that can become the main driver onwards and upwards. It's not going to happen overnight and he has to be given time and reasonable resource.
  6. He'll be filling his face with BBQ sausages at 32 degrees I thought Frankie was particularly 'jolly' at the start of play but got up to speed quickly thereafter Thank's for the efforts lad's, good listen !
  7. And according to Steve (4LADS) we are desperate to move WesFod on and won't be difficult to deal with. When a club whose revenue streams are limited for various reasons, are nearly always on the buttend of transfer dealings both in and out, the question is how long can that continue ?
  8. Something else we could do without. Get the feeling Miller and Wallace will get some pay-back and the club will shout at the SPFL.....but behind the noise, it'll become evident that this whole set of shenanigans was the wrong route to go down. Fracking unnecessary mess !
  9. That was him, only it was more 'Fox that coudnae find Box'
  10. He was nicknamed Nun cos Jeffers never scored and the Fanny wasn't breached.
  11. We have 3 players on a booking but to incur a suspension it's 3 bookings. Candeias Windas Morelos
  12. 7 July 2011 Friendly Sportfreunde Lotte 0–1 9 July 2011 Friendly VfL Bochum 0–3 13 July 2011 Friendly Bayer Leverkusen 0–2
  13. Malmo tie was mainly lost at Ibrox and then Whittakers early and silly sending off in the second leg meant we were swimming against the tide and going uphill ! We were doing ok in Maribor (first leg), 1-1 into injurytime then made a stupid error and ended up losing the game and the initiative.
  14. We had a training camp in Germany where we were very unconvincing in the friendlies we played (3 defeats and no goals) and lo and behold, we took that same form into the Malmo first leg at Ibrox (another defeat and no goals) with a clueless looking McCoist stood at the touchline with his arms folded.
  15. IIt's not the first time, I'm sure we were once linked with Rod Fanni.
  16. His time at Ibrox wasn't worth 10 pence.
  17. Part of the Newcastle Treatment Room Five who our CEO at the time, Derek Lambias (with absolutely no connections with Newcastle or their owner of course) deemed could join without a medical being conducted. The rest were so lame that beside them, Vuckic looked almost good.
  18. I've always liked Beever !
  19. Aren'y you thinking of Malmo ? Bit more than two weeks given we played our first friendly 19 days before the first leg.
  20. That won't be enough. When SG talked about a serious lack of quality in the final third after the game in Macedonia, surely he did so with the full intention of aggressing the issue before the transfer window closed. Sadiq and Kent offer options but by hook, crook or the loan market, we need a splash of quality.
  21. Lawwell has been 'timing his runs' with care these past few seasons.
  22. Dunfermline were guilty of various rule breaches. Spartans were guilty of a second offence within 3 years. edit / MeatonBones ".........Dunfermline's expulsion came partly as the result of fielding Calum Woods, who came off the bench in the second half of the 7-1 win at East End Park, despite the SFA's official suspensions list declaring him banned for the match. However, it emerged on Thursday that the Irn-Bru First Division club were guilty of further rule breaches, including submitting an inaccurate team line, altering a named substitute and not registering two outfield under-21 players.........." https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/scottish-premier/6989662/Dunfermline-kicked-out-of-Scottish-Cup-for-breaches-of-competition-rules.html 2008 Spartans officials will meet with the SFA after it emerged that both the Edinburgh club and Elgin City fielded ineligible players in the Scottish Cup........ http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/scot_cups/7773110.stm 2011 Spartans have been thrown out of the Scottish Cup for fielding an ineligible player in their 2-0 win over Culter......... https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/15672375
  23. Mibbes aye, mibbes naw.............only how fitbaw politics develop and time will paint a picture !!
  24. IMO Keith Jackson was right to point towards Morelos and call the situation a conundrum. Dependent on that conundrum and how it is handled, we may yet need two more 'strikers'.
