  1. You'd probably have to add a fair whack to pay off at least part of the Lee Wallace contract.
  2. That hot sun in BBQ land is definitely having an effect !!!
  3. Gonzo likes to watch burdz, not touch them #LBGTLoyal Getting back on track with the thread, ......Croatian 'Honey Shot' that could be from Osijek.
  4. Buying from the English market (Burnley),...4.2M rings a bell and was mostly for potential. If we could get him for below 500K, I think it likely we'd get value for money. Going for another loan has it's risks. For balance, I think we've got enough players on loan unless we find a player that we think can make a difference, has real quality and is the type to come up and actually provide it on the pitch.
  5. I'd say Andy Webster but did he actually ever play
  6. Looking isn't the problem, it's finding those who are within our budget that is more difficult. Value for money in the English market is rare so that leaves Scotland or overseas. Lafferty is a known commodity that for the right price would improve the squad. He 'll score some goals, won't be consistent, can bother any defence in Scotland (ie. Celtic), can show flashes of real class, another free-kick expert.
  7. It's a 'cake and eat it' statement. They want to show their paying punters (to the PLC) some 'teeth' in the long known tit for tat measure (took them less than an hour to state their intentions when we first announced our decision) but at the sametime, they want to be seen as the reasonable 'let's talk and sort this out' type of guys. The latter part has them tied up in knots and they break recent custom and call us by our name because you can't hope to be seen as reasonable when you are being schoolyard petty at the sametime. So this rebounds on them as many of their paying punters will be upset. From their POV, they'd have been better not bothering.
  8. I wanted to snog Lulu when I was 13 but ma maw didnae even try to get it arranged. Kids these days are spoilt, I tell ye !
  9. I doubt a deal for Lafferty will be done anytime soon unless KL himself pushes for it within Hearts. They'll want closer to 1M and probably won't go lower than 500/600K.

  11. Tom was right if he said that they went out on the away goals rule.
  12. We've looked at Osijeks home record but with an eye on next week, what about away from hame....... Most of the results below come from too long ago to be that relevant but there are five matches between this and last season. Of the five, they've only been beaten once. In 27 matches (H&A) they've only drawn two games. 13. Note that they lost the first leg at home and won in Austria. Thu 17/08/17 UEL Osijek 1 - 2 Austria Wien View events More info Thu 24/08/17 UEL Austria Wien 0 - 1 Osijek
  14. Didn't see much to be worried about in the half hour I saw........ However, it's about getting through ties and to get a better idea of where Maribor at at you'll need to watch how they go about trying to close the deal at home.
  15. Far from over,..........If they were to score the first goal then it's not only level but they have the opportunity to get a second away goal and make things really difficult. I think we need to prioritise defence rather than going all out for goals because we are at home. ie. Attack, yes but be very careful (and disciplined) not to leave the back door ajar as sometimes can be the case.
  16. Very much so. There were spells when we simply couldn't move the ball back to middle without losing possession (eg. 3rd quarter). Much better to clear the ball and reorganise the defence. After the spell of pressure subsides, you then can start to build play again as we did going into the last quarter.
  17. Over the past several years, Tav might well have been our most productive creative outlet. I think the positive he has brought going forward outweighs the defensive lapses and he's a player we need to have in the team that we have to find a better way of covering for when he goes forward....although you'll never perfect this and we'll occasionally be caught out. There are certain games where discretion will be better than simply bombing forward. That said, nowt is sacred and IF a problem gets worse then you gotta take action.
  18. This was the type of game that was likely to expose any lack of cohesiveness (several new players) wrt to moving the ball from back to front and retaining possession. Osijek had spells where they successfully pinned us in but couldn't capitalise. It wasn't disimilar against Petrocub but there they breached the Molovan defence. But we weathered the storm and got the result which is very encouraging. Two very different games coming up. - The second leg where we have to balance looking for goals with the important need to prevent away goals - An away match at Aberdeen which will probably be a bit of a battle.
  19. Cheers thats a goid record to break. 20. Definitely a market to keep an eye on and one where there will generally be more value for money than England.
  21. Excellent result ! Rode our luck a little but we deserve some in Europe, for a change. Now we have to finish the job at Ibrox. We are in a very good position but the tie is still alive. Whisper it, but that chink of light towards the group stages just got a little brighter. I watched the last half hour of the Maribor tie and saw nothig out of the ordinary.
  22. Giving up possession too easily..........
