  1. Still some work to do on strengthening our squad. We need several more in.
  2. Sandy Jardine and Alex Miller were penalty kick takers in the latter stages of Greigs playing career.
  3. Excellent result We still have work to do to see this out but we're in the driving seat and hopefully Jack is fit.
  4. Flanagan booked. That's 2 for the competition ( 3 bookings = suspension) / No Barsic in qualifiers.
  5. Couple of notable HT's HT Dinamo Minsk 3 - 0 Zenit St. Petersburg HT Trencin 3 - 0 Feyenoord
  6. Frankie got the XI right 8 New signings 2 from Pedro/ JJ 1 from MW
  7. They didn't look anything special in the 20 minutes I saw but Progres were better than last season (still not very good). I'd have a decent level of confidence against either. However I don't have it for the Maribor tie, which could go either way.
  8. Was His value or International caps wouldn't have increased by sitting in the Ibrox stand. Better to take the money now and free up a wage.
  9. In the real world, the "correct way" for managers is to win and to marshall his resources towards it.
  10. FT Ufa 2 Proges 1 38' Sylvester Igboun 1 - 0 63' Ivan Oblyakov 2 - 0 80' Olivier Thill 2 - 1 Tie still in the balance. Russians went 2-0 up in the 2nd half but later allowed Progres an away goal and a chance of making the play-off round.
  11. Is there nothing on at the pictures for him....
  12. HT: Ufa 1 Progress 0 Watched 20 minutes of first half and neither team looked very good. Predictably, the Russiana are better and will probably add to their lead in the second half. Can't subject myself to anymore of it.
  13. Let's Go to Shrewsbury ??
  14. Just as well given Tav is on tonight's match programme cover
  15. Getting him out the door (and replacing him for a 'Gerrard type' player) makes perfect sense. He wouldn't have increased his value if he was still here but not playing, so the 2M (approx) up-front plus sell-on clause would be welcome. Not to mention freeing up a wage.
  16. Yesterday Hearts installed a new pitch over the summer but when asked how it was shaping up, Levein said: “It’s a bit long just now, that’s all I can say.” ps. Ridicule is the best way to get to Rodgers IMO. Saturday 11th August 2018 Hearts v Celtic
  17. A Sell-on clause (hopefully) may help realise some value.
  18. If as looks likely, they go out of the CL next week, it'll go up a level wrt recriminations and allocating blame. The board will probably try and time an incoming transfer for the Wednesday, which might actually pish off the green and grey hordes more and help direct the anger at Lawwell. The fact that they couldn't hide the public show of managerial pishedoffness this week is significant.
  19. Hoping that the next chapter is metaphorically entitled 'Car Crash'
  20. Essentially, the Political system has been 'hijacked' and is no longer fit for purpose of serving the interests of the majority.
  21. Few people (all around the world) get what they think they are voting for. Brexit is a little different in that not even the Leave Campaign really knew what the the bottomline of what they were campaigning for and quickly made an exit after the referendum. A lot of todays Politics (together with an important % of the mainstream media) is like a firewall of noise, law and regulation (lack of) to further and protect powerful interests.
  22. Let's not be naive. The EU were never going to make it easy and give any country a gold-plated withdrawal, thus encouraging a queue to form. We are not being punished by Brussels, we are facing the natural and predictable consequences of a Leave vote.
  23. If there was more awareness of what drives politics and where it's going, just perhaps, the majority of people would get angry enough to do something about it.
