  1. Personally, I'll listen because I think it's generally very good, worthwhile and I have the time. My observation is more directed at ways to try and grow an audience. Bottom line, I'd agree with putting the emphasis on quality. Another idea would be to try and allocate a part of the show to an 'original angle' / something exclusive. When you've had Steve (4LHAD) he's sometimes provided you with something in this ball park. Even going back to the Liverpool fan giving a topical insight into Flanagan worked well.
  2. The obscene levels of money involved in football have converted what was part business / part sport into a corporate operation where the sport is almost incidental. Given the levels of money swishing around in many leagues, players need advice/agents. Some are good, some are bottom feeders with suits.
  3. Thank's again lads, good listen ! One observation (not a criticism) is the timelapse between recording the podcast and it being published is too long and what happens is that the relevant points up for discussion on Sunday night have already been covered extensively in various parts of the media, including other podcasts. The faster you get it out, the more interest you'll get.
  4. Agreed Although I'm getting to the stage of almost completely ignoring recovery timescales that come from the club because they seldom come to pass.
  5. Yes, he was the hack who got the story about Sir Duped, a hotel room in London, a deal having been set-up to sell the club and a last minute question 'for the good of Rangers' that prevented the Duped one from going ahead with sale #WaltDisney We shouldn't forget he was also a backer of Craig Whyte when he arrived at Ibrox. This shows two things....... 1. He could be 'bought off'.........Sir Duped 2. His judgement on important issues is suspect............CW
  6. It's good to have various names doing the rounds, if for nothing else, to let Hearts think/know that Lafferty isn't our only option. As more days pass, it seems as though Hearts and Rangers can't agree a price and that the Edinburgh club have better cards in this game of brinkmanship. SG wanted a forward in at the start of the month, then had to go along with the game until yesterday when he seemed to make it clear he wanted at least one in before the European deadline (I think it's 11pm tomorrow). If it doesn't happen by tomorrow night, maybe we will look elsewhere.
  7. Aye, it was 13 years ago he was scoring for us in the CL in Porto.
  8. I think they made 5 changes from their team on the Thursday v Progres. Perhaps resting players for Ibrox.
  9. DM 2-0 Ufa 84 mins 3-0, 94 mins 3-0 FT
  10. The Ufa defence has just been breached, 63rd minute Dynamo Moscow 1 Ufa 0
  11. Isn't it about changing the soft loans into equity. They've already put the money in.
  12. A professional Rangers supporter !!!
  13. Re. McCormack Just make sure he doesn't live somewhere with an electric gate and everything would be fine
  14. With an away trip to Russia on the horizon, you'll be giving both the BBC and BBC Scotland ideas for a double whammy.
  15. Gerrard would have got to know Middleton at the Toulon tournament in the summer and he'd obviously seen enough to trust him with gametime from the off. It's then down to the player to show he can cope and play. I think he'll continue to get minutes rather than games.
  16. He deserves his chance to get on the field, see how he goes and go from there. However, I don't think you can depend on him at this stage for regular football and hence we need someone else in. I'd agree that Sadiq looks like a fish out of water. I know he needs a chance but who would be confident if Morelos was out, with him starting up front?
  17. Those on the panel would probably protest but the declared transpareny should trump that. If the prcess is robust, no need to hide it.
  18. Whoever has the TV contract should get to televise the process and fill an hour of their programming during the week.
  19. Halliday could end up with a lot more starts this season than anyone could have envisaged.
  20. RB: Tav / Flanagan LB: Barisic / Flanagan / Wallace I wonder if SG is considering using Wallace given it might be difficult to shift him. He's a Gerrard type of defender, big and physical. edit Forgot Halliday !! No need for further FB cover.
  21. We needed players in and if there was any doubt that a creative player was needed then Murphys injury takes that away. Losing Windass and Murphy (for X months) needs addressed as do other positions. Middleton is raw and I don't think he's ready for first team football week in week out. Sub appearences and if he does well, some starts should be the order of the day.
  22. We need a forward in before the Wildcard deadline for Europe. 11pm Wednesday night, I think.
  23. If he were a Celtic player, this news would be in the press, accompanied by talk of 10M transfer fees.
  24. Pedantic correction but it was Chris Bennentt (not Mark). Podcast of Fridays programme https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/play/p06hs39f I note that they haven't put up a podcast for yesterday,...they usually do. They have certainly got mileage out of Kyle Lafferty. How many times has his red card against Aberdeen (simulation) been mentioned over the years.
