  1. All the best to Craig Levein in his recovery from illness.
  2. High maintance egomaniac prone to hissy fits and losing focus.
  3. Sometimes it's little wonder they have been "...quick, quiet, and stress free..." given who they have been offloading and for how much. The phrase 'I'll drive him to the airport myself', comes to mind.
  4. After two referendums and a decade plus of social media interactions, polarisation is much more prevalent. Standards drop but it is what it is and if you are on the outside looking in, you'll likely get the arse end of what is going about. Politically, what might be considered the 'general Rangers majority interest' tends to act in a reactionary and disorganised manner and is about 3 steps behind................ We aren't very good at politics.
  5. Nice surprise to get it so fresh and early , thank's lads. I hope Big Jaws got some sleep last night Will listen to it now !
  6. A quick scan of our European history shows us having won the First leg 1-0, at Home in KO ties (ie. not group stage) a total of 9 times with the balance of success in our favour. We went on to get through the tie on 6 occasions but were put out three times. 67% success rate which is better than the general stats that say a 1-0 home victory in the first leg gives you a 61% of going through https://kassiesa.net/uefa/forum/view.php?archive=2008.Q3&topic=20080919192651.xml Six successful 60's: Rapid Vienna 70's: Young Boys of Berne and Lillestrom 80's: Katowice 90's: Anorthosis 00's: Red Star Three unsuccessful 80s: Osasuna 00's: Kaiserslautern 2010's: Progres
  7. I think SG might initially be looking to split the up top role between Morelos and Lafferty for this one, eg. Morelos 60mins/Lafferty 30. However, match circumstances may force change and we end-up needing them both on the field.
  8. This game is about discipline and keeping to a gameplan. Kent has shown he can do that and SG can't do other than play the short odds. If later in the game we need goals, Middleton becomes an option.
  9. Better off with Kent starting, he has more experience of playing within our European set-up. Lafferty has more chance of a start than Middleton.
  10. Surprises me, I thought he was a stick-on but better for us if Jack gets time to rest. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets called up after call-offs though. edit We are very light up front.
  11. You were right the first time. It'd be sensible/prudent to consider circumstances of International players that come from the other side of the world given what that would mean regards air miles on various occasions throughout a season. But last time I saw Albania was in Europe.
  12. They seem to be prioritising Europe and will be well up for the game on Thursday. I doubt they'll go all-out attack from the beginning because thay don't have any away goals but they'll be more adventurous than at Ibrox and may look towards set-pieces. No Barisic suggests little chance of starting with a 3-5-2 and it'll probably be back to the tried and tusted for Europe. McGregor Tav Goldson Katic Flanagan Jack Ejaria Arfield Candeias Morelos Kent
  13. Neither Rangers or Celtic have won at Fir Park in their last 4 visits combined (2 each).
  14. Seems as if the various outlets are picking a player at random and throwing it out there. Last weeks bombardment of speculation (98% Colin Nish).
  15. I reckon SG&Co will want to win the League Championship before they go. It's about steadily improving and aslong as SG can see that we are getting steadily closer to the place he wants to be and the board are supporting him to a degree that makes it attainable then I think he stays. The other thing is that until he actually achieves something more tangible, he's not going to get offers from clubs, he'd consider as a step-up.
  16. They are in the process of turning it around and it won't be finished anytime soon. At the moment it is about learning, steadily improving, bedding in new players and tactics, learning some more, steadily improving, building a squad over several transfer windows, steadily improving and in about 12-18 months down the road I'd hope we get to a point where we have turned it round.
  17. Tend to think the timing of the game is what will mean we are not at our best and that Celtic players will focus and put a performance in for the first time this season. Even if the result was to go against us on Sunday,...... SG&Co have to continue in the same vein and we'll have them on toast soon enough.
  18. Huge week. I hope the players came through yesterday without fresh knock's, niggles, injuries, etc. Halliday was the only one that seemed to limp off. Can't see Coulibaly being 100% for the plastic pitch in Ufa and we could do with Halliday being available. If LC isn't 100%, I'd leave him in Scotland to do his utmost to be ready for the Celtic game.
  19. You take what you can when you can. Our stated aim is to access the group stages of European competition to help with the finances that in turn will help build a squad that can challenge for the league. I don't see this squad as strong enough to win the league with or without European football. There is a decent starting XI if everyone is fit and available but IMO the squad isn't yet strong enough and over a season that is what will tell. We need the finance to help improve the squad depth/quality for 2019/20.
  20. Six games Six weeks over nearly 3 months Approximate 10M revenue Potential to enhance player market value Co-efficient Experience for players Excitement for fans Tangible and notable achievement Prestige It's not a hard call at all !
  21. HT.................Ufa 0-2 Zenit Ufa with about five changes to starting XI at Ibrox.
  22. This is about getting back to the basics of defending (a back four for both these games) but against the Russians we need to look for and score at least one away goal or we may struggle #balance It's also about decent recovery because as we come towards the end of 10 games in 32 days, we looked knackered in that second half. Over to SG&Co.
  23. If Motherwell played like that in all home games they'd probably make the Top 6. #CupFinalSyndrome.............but we have to deal with it.
  24. We need to regroup and make sure we don't get turned over in Russia. A return to the back four for Ufa.
  25. Losing late goals is a bad habit we have.
