  1. Listening to the interview, it sounds as if he is saying he refused the club who were asking him not to help us in anyway. ie. he stuck to the slight extension that was put in place. Of course that wasn't the type of extension that would have really helped us prepare properly for the European Final. I see it as what stuck in his throat was Celtic stooping to that level of small-minded and pathetic, to make that request of him.
  2. The recent podcast put me right regards the timeline of those events you describe and you'll get no argument or pleading for mitigation for McLaughlin, from me. I'd imagine that any kind of voluntary 'settlement' will need a compromise on both sides. The alternative is the status quo or BBC Scotland coming under pressure from a 3rd party and being forced to climbdown. I'd argue that the more important 'long game' regards this dispute should be focused on the lack of coverage/effectively free and prominent advertising and the trickle down effect of the current 'negative indoctrination' that is in place. We could settle this dispute tomorrow but the same 'pundits' and presenters wil be in place who very often blatantly skew their views and reports as if we were the enemy of Scottish football. In other words, the inherent problems we have with BBC Scotland aren't going away anytime soon.
  3. I remember back in September 1999 when we went to an out of form Valencia for our opening group game. IIRC they were bottom of La Liga and we called them the 'Aberdeen of Spain' expecting to go out there and get a decent result. We got beat 2-0 and Valencia never looked back, getting to the Final of the CL. We don't tend to do well against Spanish teams and the guy in the pic below is the scorer of the goal that last won us a game against Spanish opposition (Osasuna 1985), although you'd have to go further back (Zaragoza, 1967) for the time we got past a Spanish team (on the toss of a coin) and further still for a clear aggregate win (Sevilla, 1962).
  4. Soulsonic,....I think some want a solution and are 'prepared to bargain', somewhat. FWIW I think what is the vast majority slant of negative opinion regards BBC Scotland amongst the Rangers support would be seen as stronger if we don't insist on groupthink. Opinions vary, debate is good but the body of evidence that this thread alone provides, is very difficult to argue with.
  5. I agree but I'm unclear as to who or what content you refer to when you talk about 'apoligists'.
  6. If you are serious about this or any issue then fair-minded objectivity has to be employed or you may as well be throwing shite at the moon. (Collated) facts are our friend but they have to be objective. The Morelos pic by itself means little but put beside the larger ongoing body of evidence, it's a predictable continuation of a longterm trend (how may years ago was a Kevin Thomson pic given the name of '*unt' by an employee of BBC Scotland ?). You could fairly say that Morelos is becoming a 'hate figure' for the rest of Scottish football. Closer to home, I'd say he's also still got a discipline problem and after being booked on Saturday, was still getting involved with the opposition.
  7. Perhaps we are better than them.
  8. The Scottish fibaw hacks revel in it or rarther use it to mask their own lack of professionalism. Knowledge of the European competition co-efficient was an area they didn't want to tread, with pundits regularly ridiculing those fans who made an attempt to get a handle on it, calling them 'anoraks' or some other derogatory term. Richard Gordon said he'd sat down with a ref last week and became aware of why Morelos had his card rescinded. Had he been listening to Sportsound a week or two earlier, he'd have heard Darryl Broadfoot explain the new interpretation and why it was brought in. Nobody seemed to be tuned in that night, not even those taking part.
  9. Heard some of it yesterday and 26th has got them well sussed with very good detail.
  10. BBC and facts / Oil and water Thu 09/08/18 UEL Rangers 3 - 1 Maribor
  11. Sad news. Robson as manager.........Butcher, the Dutch pair, Mariner, Brazil, Mills etc....great team. Their European exploits were what I remember most.
  12. It was two (Kent and Middleton). Three, eg. League Cup / v Dunfermline / Alves, Morelos and Candeias. Wed 09/08/17 LEC Rangers 6 - 0 Dunfermline At… Challenge Cup / v Hibs / Tav, Waghorn and Halliday Sat 25/07/15 CHC Hibernian 2 - 6 Rangers
  13. Apparently The current occupier of the Whitehouse can't get enough of The Krankies. ps. He doesn't know who Mr.Naismith is.
  14. Being offensive in an increasingly polarised world has almost become the norm and the threshold or line that can't be crossed before general censure has moved significantly. The current incumbent of most powerful public office (POTUS) has without doubt had an influence on the general trend. He obviously didn't start it but he has given many who should know better, a certain 'license'. Prior to January 2017, the Scottish Independence referendum on social media brought into stark focus the polarisation such a contested event can have in an enviroment and it won't shake off those negative, hateful waves for a long time.
  15. Social media has been a big factor in the general race to the political bottom of discourse.
  16. Whoever writes the O.O. statements does an excellent job.
  17. How can you feel patriotic to a Union ? Will there be anyone who feels that to the EU in a couple of hundreda years ?
  18. I think patriotism is something a bit more special when it's between you and the country. I used to spend a lot of time up in the Scottish mountains and it was then that I most felt the bond. Everyone to their own.
  19. The atmosphere at Hampden tomorrow might resemble the library at said University. It's the international equivalent to The Intertoto Cup.
  20. It's not complicated, both credit and criticism should be given to X, Y or Z when it is due. This isn't only about a few Bears behaviour as my first post on this pointed towards. Celtic PLC and Police Scotland have allowed what they have previously been at pains to point out as dangerous provaction, go apparently unchecked, eg. Griffiths scarf on goalpost at Ibrox and now this.
  21. I never said I expected anything. It doesn't surprise me.
  22. Most people don't need to cause a stooshie that they know despite the temper, will go nowhere other than to cause a show and in this case, stress/injury to our own supporters in wheelchairs....so as to prove they hate getting beat by them. Your inference is pathetic.
  23. 'Tabloid Youtube Content' competing for clicks that tend to be not worth clicking. Contrast that with the more 'Broadsheet Youtube Content' and you appreciate the Gersnet Podcast more.
  24. What part of NO excuse don't you understand ?
