Good to see Alfredo put another performance in. Now he can get a well deserved rest. Keep that up and he's a great asset.

Cosgrove and Gordon are in with the bricks and won't be going anywhere anytime soon. I see the new remit of McLaughlin as an increase in threat level or at least it gives him a much wider scope to damage our brand.

Thanks Just looked it up,.......... Sports News Correspondent at BBC Scotland. That will give him more license to pursue off-field issues and could actually be more problematic for us.

- We barely got a mention in yesterdays 40 minute post-match podcast. - I note PQ sanctioned a trip to Salzburg for McLeod and Bonner after no-one being sent to Villareal. ---------------------- McLaughlin leaving PQ should surely mean an end to the ongoing situation.

Morelos is an enigma. On one hand he is a fantastic footballing prospect with a raw ability that could go far in the game. On the other, he's prone to a costly petulance and mood swings that have seen him play as an empty shirt for several weeks at a time. I said in August that SG needed to make up his mind about Alfredo and either fully back him or move on and bring someone else in. He decided the former and he has little choice but to continue that unconditional support. For all what we could say about what has gone before, whether it be an impressive goal return for one so young or something else,..... he has an opportunity today to back-up a tremendous performance in Europe. What he'll find today is Hearts players desperately trying to wind him up, he's got to concentrate on the football and not being hooked on a line. Bottomline, at around 1M, a fantastic signing that has already been repayed. If SG and staff can manage him well, it'd be very much in both his and our best interests.

Tav is an exceptional creative player and has been our most consistent and important performer since 2015. The number of goals he's been involved in is amazing and for those who say he can't defend, the balance between goals created/scored and mistakes, goals lost is very positive. Re. Brighton: This is papertalk and to be ignored unless a bid is made further down the line.

Significant but not the second end of the world inside 8 days either side of best of the season. Today will be an excellent test in breaking down a well organised side. It's strange but it seems to be getting harder to do in some of the domestic games than the European, where in pretty much always, it's been the reverse, except perhaps the PLG 6 months.

The only League table that matters and is ever considered beyond the summer of when it ends,..... is the one at the end of the season. I think it was Walter Smith that said the first time he generally thought the table to be meaningful was at the end of the second round of fixtures, after everyone had played everyon, H & A. Regards this week / tomorrow. The end of the world depths post Livingston were quickly followed by fantastic to be back Thursday. If the result doesn't go our way tomorrow it isn't the end of the world although it would be on social media.

- Obscenely paid footballers that don't give their all - A manager with an ego the size of a small planet going through the same very deliberate and public process he did at Real Madrid and Chelsea on the way to vast pay-offs - A badly run football club but seemingly not that bothered upstairs aslong as the commercial side continues to grow Zidane got on well at Real Madrid because as Del Bosque did, he let things flow and didn't look to fight unwinnable battles. Could he do it at Man Utd ?

With Mourinho on the edge, Woodward needs to be held to account wrt managerial appointments.

Dave King gets a lot of stick at times (from me included) but nights like Thursday weren't coming back in my lifetime if he and the other main investors hadn't dug deep and taken Mr.MASH on in a corporate conflict that was always going to be complicated and costly. I might be wrong but I tend to think that DK had a fair bit to do with bringing Gerrard to Ibrox and again I think this appointment (along with his staff and boardroom backing) is the one that can take us back to the top of Scottish football within 2 seasons. My thanks goes to Dave King, George Taylor, Douglas Park, George Letham and the others involved.

You gotta feel for the poor wee lambs........years of banging their head against the EL 3rd round qualifier and they have to watch us saunter by them into the group stages and doing very well, thank-you. I'm sure in their heart of hearts they are thinking of the co-efficient and the good of the Scottish game as they cheer for us on a Thursday evening.

We now know we are capable of getting excellent results at a very good level. In Europe, we are having a ball. Domestically, we have to get to a level where we can get results consistently. This season that is more difficult because of 2 main reasons. - In the short term the European games will inevitably have an affect. - The standard amongst what are likely to be Top Six teams has improved in the last year.

Excellent win and a really good 3 points in terms of the group. Didn't see the game but from most accounts, the players that were under a degree of scrutiny (eg. Worrall and Morelos) came to the party and put in very good performances. In so doing, showed that SG's confidence was well placed. I notice SG held off with the subs and given how things turned out, a lot of kudos goes to him and his staff for that. 47,500 at the game along with the UEFA win bonus must mean the thick end of a gross 2M for last night which is great for the club news aswell. The result, atmosphere and state of the group should ensure happy supporters with an apetite for more when the Russians come calling towards the end of this month. Now it's about recovery and sorting ourselves up for a very difficult game on Sunday against the league leaders, who have had all week to drill into their team, what will be an organised opposition.
