  1. Good strong statement that undeniably has right on it's side. It'll keep the headlines rumbling on and bring pressure to bare ! Well worth the 1,000 pounds !
  2. Looks like a statue unveiling. Given Strachan took over as their manager in 2005 and Tommy Burns is in the picture, November of 2005, 2006 or 2007.
  3. I was specifically talking about Eardley. Many of those ex-Rangers players are obviously getting paid for their punditry work and might well feel a degree of pressure to join the general outcry. Funnily enough it was an ex-Celtic player, in possibly his first PQ gig at punditry (Gary Caldwell) who called NL out for what he had done that night/his history in the 'heat of the moment'.
  4. Co-incidental that we are in 'Poppy season' but the Celtic manager to wear a poppy whilst amongst the Celtic hierarchy... ..........was the sensible voice this past week. “You cannot put the coin throwing down to sectarianism, you put it down to morons........." https://www.scotsman.com/sport/football/competitions/premiership/gordon-strachan-neil-lennon-coin-incident-was-not-sectarian-1-4825822
  5. Agreed, that's exactly what I said.
  6. This season we know we're getting an 8 figure number but the biggy re. unpredictability has historically been European revenue. A gamble is the only palatable dish that will attract 40K+ ST buyers.
  7. Employing the Rules isn't really wild speculation. In this particular case, nearly everyone (including most of them, PQ, etc) accepts Collum made a complete horlicks of it and anyone who doesn't is providing a rod for his own back. I doubt a referee will be looking to conciously make such a fool of himself as Collum has. What a referee will know is that we are prepared to maximise media focus on it.
  8. What has happened because of the appeal ? Extra headlines focusing on Collum and a ludicrous decision. One angle is that referees now know that Rangers will go out of their way to publicly focus on errors that go against the club. That type of general tactic has been one that has been used successfully by another club in Glasgow. ------------------- Another version of the same The SFA know that if they were to 'bend their rules' for Candeias/Rangers then they would have PQ loudly and doggedly on their case.
  9. Their rules didn't allow it. They've overturned many decisions over the years that pointed to officials making mistakes.
  10. Hope the referee isn't from 'the circus' and use 'Moscow Rules'
  11. The issue isn't about having or not having 'a plan'....Obviously, we do. It's about announcing it to the shareholders/public/media or not..........or how much of it, beyond legal requirements, to divulge. Recent experience suggests that it's better to say less, rather than more. Various ongoing legal matters also increase levels of unpredictability.
  12. The roolz are the roolz. We paid our money, appealed with little prospect of the card getting overturned, it didn't, we move on. What we have done is highlight the obsurdity of the decision that went against us, (probably worth 1K). I didn't see how mistaken ID would work and tbh, I doubt the club expected anything different. Had the St.Mirren defender (AF) not been booked then maybe but he was booked aswell.
  13. Fast Track Tribunal Update | Daniel Candeias, Rangers FC Thursday 8 November 2018 Fast Track Tribunal Update| Daniel Candeias, Rangers FC Player: Daniel Candeias, Rangers FC Match: St Mirren FC v Rangers FC Date: 3 November 2018 Competition: SPFL Premiership Offence: B1l Claim: Mistaken Identity Fast Track Tribunal Hearing: Wednesday 7 November 2018 Outcome: Claim dismissed. Original sanction re-imposed. https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/scottish-fa/football-governance/disciplinary/disciplinary-updates/
  14. Somewhat ironic that Freddie Fletcher died just as Ashley was getting his claws into Rangers, given his previous roles at both clubs. A penny for his thoughts in his last few months.
  15. In this type of match we've often struggled to move the ball through the midfield, lost it and as you say, regrouped in a deep formation. Unless someone is close to Morelos, the long ball is a waste of time. These types of game just tend to be difficult due to the opposition being decent.
  16. If Coulibaly could suddenly get back to early season form that looks fairly good.
  17. Alternative way to go that won't happen (had Barisic been fit it would be a better option) 5 at the back but with some flexibility that allows a player to move up when opportunity presents itself (especially Tav) Problem would be getting quality ball to DC and AM and supporting. .....................................................................................McGregor .................................................Tav McAuley Goldson Worrall Flanagan ................................................ Jack Halliday ............................................................................... Ejaria ...........................................................Candeias .................................................................. Morelos
  18. The important point for me is that the management team are obviously of the same mind as you. They obviously fully trust Kent to carry out instructions and show reluctance to give Middleton much more than 10-15 minutes. I doubt Middleton will start tonight and tbh I don't think Grezda is up to it yet. Some might say the League is more important and give the Albanian gametime but I don't think we are treating the EL in this fashion. You'd think we'll keep the same 'Euro Away' shape given results thus far (points to Grezda) but yet again, we await the team line-up with uncertainty,....something that makes achieving a decent consistency of result more difficult.
  19. We'll miss Kent for the disciplined European set-up in Moscow. Big miss IMO.
  20. I doubt he'll be on a payroll but he certainly ticks a fair few boxes to be given a platform by Cosgrove/Off the Ball.
  21. Bottomline............I hope the victims get some pay back and the club if it were true to it's advertised morales would volunteer to recompense them. For Corporations and (taking) Responsibility....read....Oil and Water
  22. Celtic lawyers would have been working on it a while for the reasons you state and probably have got it 'double legaled' to be sure. You'd imagine they'll take a hardline with any victims wanting to sue. Doubt they'll want a queue to form for out of court settlements. May be one to keep an eye on. It's fortunate for Celtic fans that they have so many court reporters to keep them abreast of any developments.
  23. Celtic FC have issued statement. To read it as a block you'll need to go to their site.
  24. Too many pundits from all over the media in competition with each other produces a plethora of wide-ranging & sometimes wild opinion, from which a small percentage might be worth reading or listening to. The analysis that counts is that from within the clubs but I wonder how many clubs have a system that actually wins them more football matches?
  25. If this appeal is successful remember the line that most pundits have used.......'the important thing is that the right decision is made or eventually reached'. Me thinks that won't be the first thing that springs to most of their minds (if appeal successful).
