The M.O. of Sutton and his career in the media is about ensuring he can't be ignored within what is a low quality environment that tends to lap up controversy and serve it up as clickbait. Scottish football medialand could be used as a testground for the use of basic A.I. programming. Replace journalists/pundits with two dimensional algorithms set up to create controversy. You could even replace Michael Stewart on the Sportscene couch with.............

I think you have to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks before you brand it as madness. It'll be a positive for him to be able to train with better players under the microscope of our management team. It'll be up to him to show that he doesn't look out of place. Thereafter, I'd imagine decisions will be made. -

Yes, I think it might be about deciding whether to offer him an extension or not. -

Good Bosmans if we can get them. Hopefully less need for loans next season. -

That does sound good A loan with two recall options shouldn't come with a huge fee and it should mean he'll be ok to play in European summer qualifiers. -

Broon has been getting away with it for years without the continual forensic examination. Funny that........ -

The disgust at the overturning of the Morelos red at Aberdeen has never went away and it gets repeatedly mentioned on Sportsound by the usual suspects. They've somehow managed to forget their outrage on a Naismith incident but not Alfredo. Perhaps the only thing that would replace their weekly moan about the Morelos decision would be another Morelos decision -

No need to get bitchy and confrontational in the transfer window thread Transfer window threads tend to be full of conjecture and player opinion, don't let it upset you. -

That isn't the current choice though. If we knew the actual options under consideration it'd be easier to opine. I wouldn't dispute their quality, it's more if their bodies would be up to playing a lot of Scottish football and how long it would take them to get back up to speed within the 5 months. If we don't successfully negotiate a tough start back later this month, the league could be more or less over by the end of February. It comes down to SG&Co and how they see things. If it's the way they want to go, then fine. -

Davis is 34 and has played 128 minutes of Legue football since mid-Feburary. Defoe is 36 and in the same time period has played 336 minutes of League football, scoring 1 goal. This season he has played 21 minutes of league football with no goals (his last senior goal was 10 months ago). Both have had excellent careers but are now on the downhill path. We'd get the Davis and Defoe of today, not several years ago. It's difficult to say if they are a gamble worth taking, without knowing what other viable options are out there. -
Perhaps it's a PQ friendly attempt at a balancing act. Involve Celtic but don't actually mention them.

I think it is true but do agree that Celtic have went backwards. I think the midtable level has improved and is reflected not only in points totals but in the subsequent away records of the teams at the top of the table.

If quoted numbers are correct, whoever talked him into going from 60K to 12K has a silver tongue and is as far away from the Sunbed man of Bain methodology as you can get -
Wrt points totals comparsons,................I think they only tell part of the story. The top flight this year is much more competitive with more teams able to get results against the Old Firm and this is represented by looking at the drop-off in points won by Celtic. We have improved and been able to remain on a similar points total, whilst they have went backwards and lost ground. The more important measure is the league table and here we are on the same number of points as Celtic, who have a game in hand. Hence, on top of the European group stages and it's associated benefits, we are much closer to the top of the table under SG&Co. -------------- IIRC one phrase that Rodgers used in his first year accross the city, was that he'd be judged in Europe. It seems as though PQ don't want to remember that or hold him to it. Their memory can be more elephant like when it comes to others.

Article talks about 12K per week. On that supposed figure, SD would be losing well into 7 figures on the next 6 months but would get a further years contract worth over 600K. You wonder if a heavy bonus may be on offer if we were to win the title. Numbers apart, the most important thing is if SD still has it in his legs to be what we want him to be. -

Agreed 6 month loan for Davis would be perfect. An 18 month contract on a lot of money for a 34 year old who hasn't played much recently is another gamble on a player who we know could do it but aren't sure if he's up to what we expect. Some will say that circumstances make the gamble worthwhile, only time would tell. -
They played one LC tie more than us which took the place of the missing League game. They are scheduled to play it in the first available space after winter break (it'll be end of Jan or beginning of Feb).

On the other hand, if Man City win then we may see a momentum shift. Sometimes losing a game can be like the preverbial line about waiting on a bus then two...........

Imagine them when we win something, especially the 55th !!
