  1. Disagree, in your scenario he hasn't done enough yet. The positive is that SG&Co have seen enough to give him another year. Ball is in his court, ...I hope he can take the opportunity.
  2. I can think of one born in Walsall who would call it a 'potential hit'
  3. He will be 22 in March so he really needs to kick-on and show he can do the business consistently at this level if he hopes to be part of our plans going forward. It might be that he scores a few and we move him on in the summer anyway,... but the years extension would mean we could get a transfer fee.
  4. Gerrard leaves the door open and it's up to the lad to get into the Livingston starting XI and score goals. I hope there is a clause that awards a winner at the Brendenbeu with an extra year !!
  5. If it is postponed at least we have the HJK friendly tomorrow for what would be a strong team in front of a bigger crowd. In case of postponment, the midweek of 29/30th of January looks like the only available slot.
  6. We have went for quality and experience who are past their best, in the hope that they can show that quality and do a short-term job. They have continued down their usual M.O. and signed players who haven't yet reached 'quality at a decent level or experience' and they hope they will develop over time. For us (Davis and Defoe) it's down to legs and staying fit. For them, it's a big ask to fast forward development and make it work immediately. Transfer window still open.................
  7. If Cardiff could get three points it would get interesting for Newcastle.
  8. C.O. officer first thing Monday morning before she grabs a coffee and watches a re-run of Sportscene
  9. Did they review their respective XI's AFTER the game ?
  10. I'd prefer we went with Barisic (no idea if fit or not) and gave the formation/players a chance to get some competitive minutes. IMO Tav and Barisic are by far the best full back partnership in the league to play this way.
  11. Yes, he needs to remain fit and healthy after playing half a season of at least 90 minutes of first team football every week.
  12. Only one sleep away from gameday ! Will be interesting to see how we line up. Two up top for this game is surely a given. Good opportunity to go with the 3-5-2 if we have enough central defenders fit and ready. It could also do with Barisic being available.
  13. A goal-kick from Tannadice, Dundee were after a midfielder as a makeweight for a Kamara deal this month. If Rossiter stays fit and gets back to a reasonable level then he'll get a start at most top flight clubs. I guess the real issue is staying fit.
  14. Our best run of results since we got back up to the top flight came after the winter break last season. We won 18 points from the first 21. It lasted until the 2-3 reverse at home to Celtic. In total, in the 11 games prior to the split, we won 22 points from a possible 33. The US trip seemed to help bond the players and set them up for a good run but couldn't get past them, even after a good start. The positive now is we have got over the mental block of not only beating Celtic, but giving them a going over. What remains is for this side to put a run of wins together. The thread is well named. ------------------------ edit I was wrong re. 'best run of league results since we got back up to the top flight' From this season......... 15. That would be yet another balls-up ! It's the board who need to have a good look at themselves. Said the same when they appointed LVG and they have continued going roung Clusterfcuk Circle.
  16. Rudden is 18 years younger than Dobbie

  18. They may be worthless in the sense that they don't include payment as such, only a legal committment. Regardless, McCall put's it accross in a way that gives the impression of potential loopholes, which as you alude to, won't be the case.
  19. A label yes and perhaps a little more attention and pressure...... but certainly not much in the way of scope for ridicule. There was always going to be comic value in the Baggio/Fulton comparison in any way you approached it If the lad Rudden is made of the stuff he'll need to make it at Rangers, this won't bother him in a negative sense.
  20. First yellow is a standard caution for kicking the ball away, no comeback whatsoever. Second is gross stupidity (given circumstances). I remember in the moment, his gesture and walking way from referee when the official wanted to speak to him...I was cursing and guessed what was coming....the camera suddenly cut but you could hear the roar and it was no surprise. The positive is that he is definitely trying hard to avoid the rash bouts of stupidity.
  21. Yes, once you receive a first yellow card, you know that another will mean a red. Hence the second yellow card should be interpreted similar to a red, rather than simply a yellow card.
  22. I'd guess that the SFA regard the contract between a player and his present club as the legal document in play and that any pre-contract will only be relevant to them when it actually becomes the contract between player and next club, taking the place of the previous.
  23. At that age it's about constantly improving year on year. When Ryan Hardie was a similar age he was scoring goals for Raith in the Championship (6 in 753 minutes)* and whilst he has progressed since then, it's been at a rate that suggests he's not going to reach a high level in the game. * Rudden currently has 7 in 1331 minutes. At 18, Rudden has a chance to make it big but he'll have to work hard and then work harder.
  24. I don't know if the tweet about interest in Stewart from us is true but if the League One and League Two interest references have substance, it only helps show at what level he is rated down South. IMO Stewart is a player with some ability who wouldn't handle the weight of our jersey very well.
  25. Reminds me of David Templeton.
